Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Welcome to all the newbies! We also have a 8 yo daughter... sounds like a party waiting to happen! We are in Lake Tahoe skiing this weekend (it's been awesome, 7 feet of new powder from Tues-Fri just before we arrived). For the roll call, if you'd like to provide your names and a photo, I'll get it on the website when I get home on Thursday... Check out the website for the info we have on the roll call and just send me an email of the info you're comfortable sharing.

My email: travelbee1871@yahoo.com

Sounds like we have a few people interested in the Secret Mickey. I'll get a list started... when I get home...

Thank you! Thank you! :worship: Didn't want to ask, but I'm computer illiterate (you've seen what a mess I made of my counter) and we have a lot of interest now. I'll be happy to help in any way I can. :sad2: Please add 3 adults to the list.

Double Trouble, MiniCoops, and MBoys......Welcome aboard!!!! We have a fun group of folks here. Can't wait to meet you all in person. :dogdance:

Thanks for the Welcome! We look forward to meeting everyone and 10 days at least of Hakuna Matata!!!!!:cool1:

Welcome aboard Double Trouble, MiniCoops, and MBoys.....party:

We are firsttime Discruisers. This board, the facebook site and Connie's webpage have been extremely helpful in getting ready for the trip.

I am getting ready to order the wrist bands this week. Following is the list I have so far. A few people I am missing sizes for. I know I had gotten them from you in the past, but then I changed companies to get a better price and now the only sizes are Adult & Youth. So please PM me or respond to this post and let me know what size. I will get back to everyone on the price. Right now it is $1.50 per band, but the more people who order the price goes down. We are paying for 100 bands and getting 100 free, so there will be extras and people can still add. When I get the exact price you can pay me via paypal or cash at the port/ship. Also, if you want them shipped I will figure out the shipping cost (probably a dollar or 2).

Thanks got it:thumbsup2 I think the wrist bands are going to turn out super cute. They have a buy 100 get 100 free. We are already at 114. Really anything over 100 our individual prices keep going down, so that is awesome. It will be fun to see all these lime green bands around the ship.

I know there were some people who wanted to book the Cabo Dolphin Swim but couldn't because it was full. I was checking on my BOB excursion (no luck there yet) and right now, there are spaces available for the Dolphin Swim on both Day 8 and Day 9 - go book quickly if you're interested!!

Okay experienced Disney cruisers!
I'm not new to cruising, but I want to be "in the know" to all the Disney jazz on board so my family can have the absolutely best time on the cruise in April in the Mexican Riviera!
  • I have 2 young girls, 4 and 6 (birthday is during the cruise, will be 7), and a hubby. We all like to be informed and would love to engage with other cruisers.
  • Now, I see the fish extenders, I know I'll make one...but what the heck will go in it and who puts it there?
  • Any fellow parents going on our cruise?

I know I need pirate outfits. Check.

I see wristband chat going around, should I jump on that bus and what is it for? Just for fun? Help! I want to be in the thick of the fun!! We live in Southern Oregon, fyi.

Thanks! :cheer2:

:welcome:party::disrocks: You've come to the right place. Glad you joined the party! Lot's of great folks around here. And LOTS of little princess friends for your girls!

:rotfl2: I haven't made it to page 20 yet, but I learned some lingo already!

I'm a DM Kel (right, Disney mom? Or should it be DW for Disney wife?) 37yrs, with DH Don 41 yrs, DD Jaz turns 7 on cruise 4/25, DD Syd is 4.5yrs at time of cruise.

We would love in on any sort of group fun you guys have up your sleeves, please let me know how I can help or contribute in any way! I'm in southern Oregon, but grew up in San Fernando Valley in S.Cali and we travel as much as our sanity and pocketbook can handle.

I think I need to; make magnets, maybe make/buy some gifts for gifts exchanges, figure a FE or get into the group for one, and hopefully have enough time to catch up with the rest of you who have been on here a heck of a lot longer than I have! I caught onto this site through a FB Disneycruise post when they asked what you should pack on a cruise...then the FE mention..then the DIS meet and greet...what? I had no idea this was out here. I'm so happy to have found it.

Booked only one city excursion in Cabo, all the Manzanillo things were sold out on Feb 3...not enough offered through DCL so I'll have to figure something out since there isn't much to do on foot there. We have been on 2 Mexican Riviera cruises; Princess, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Prior to those with my family I cruised 4 times on Royal Caribbean (love them). My girls love cruising and I want them to be blown away with the Disney fun.

We'll have Easter and a birthday to celebrate somehow on this cruise. No Disney sponsored Easter events from what I've been told by DCL. I'll be packing my own baskets. Could we deliver eggs or treats to each other's FE on Easter for the DISers with kids? Our 9 year anniversary is on 4/30, we plan to his DL on 4/29 and visit tons of friends and family while we are down there since I grew up in the area. Hmmm, what else should I share?

Thanks for being here! Kel (that's me!) :hippie:

Hi to all! We are the third family joining Double Trouble. We can't wait to meet all of you. We are the Mom and son traveling with the other families. My son will be 8 next month.

Welcome!! Lots of 8 year olds in our group. They will be taking over the Lab. Added you guys to the FE and wrist band list. Also sent you a PM.

We are the second family that Double Trouble spoke of. We have never cruised Disney before, but have been told of the exciting opportunities to join like minded folks looking to make a great experience for their families.:cool1:

Our family includes:

Mom & Dad plus DS(8) & DS(6)

Travelbee, True Romance, and others could you please help us as Double Trouble requested?

1. Please add us to the Roll Call
2. Please add us to the FE list
3. Please let us know how to sign up and pay for wristbands, etc.
4. Please let us know what else is available or additional info. Feel free to PM me for names.,etc.

Again, we are Newbees to the Disney cruise experience:confused3. We really look forward to learning more and eventually meeting up with some great people:thumbsup2!

Welcome!! You guys all sound like such a fun group. Added you to the FE and wrist band lists. Sent you a PM also.

Kristi...didn't you contact Tesoro and they told you $41 for the day for A?? Check out this email I just got from them...

Hello,
*
For sure we will be happy to receive you and your group, we have special rate for Day-pass, are included meals, drinks, all the activities and facilities. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The rate is $358mn pesos or like $29 dollars per person and the kids from 6 to 12 years old, pay just the half prize.
*
The best way to come to the hotel from the port it’s by Taxi, and it’s like 15 minutes from there. And the taxi’s cost is between 7 – 9 dollars.

Thanks Lisa for the information. I also just sent an email to see what price they give me. That would be awesome if it was just $29/adult and $15/kid for all inclusive. I have 2 kids under 6, so it looks like they are free.:cool1::cool1: This resort sounds like a deal. Maybe if we all go, we can get off the ship together and get taxis to follow each other over?

When I was in the taxis in Cozumel, I felt like I was in the Amazing Race. I told the kids to put their seatbelts on and hold on.:rotfl2:

Just got back from a wonderful outing with Kristi and her family. First off, we weren't certain if the weather was going to be against us and rain as it has been doing for the past couple of days, but the weather was great. We met Kristi's family at a kid's science museum. We had an awesome time. The kids had a great time. My children just couldn't stop talking about how much they are going to have fun with Kristi's kids on the Mickey boat. Virdis and I are also looking forward to spending time with Kristi and her husband.

Thanks Kristi, Kevin, Isabelle, Danny and Brennan for a wonderful time.

Can't wait for the Mickey Boat. Now off to get girl scout cookieeeeees. :yay:

Ann-Marie, we had such a good time with you guys yesterday. So glad it worked out. Danny was saying how much fun Elijah was and Isabelle wants to show Amira all around the clubs. Our kids seem very much alike. Energetic boys and inquisitive girls. Even the husbands have their jobs in common. I owe you a FB message.

Gabriela, we thought of you yesterday and cannot wait to meet you and your family. I have a feeling we are going to have a loud table. Thanks in most part to our loud boys.

Kristie, you are awesome. :worship: Thanks for putting this together.:thumbsup2

No problem, I like organizing things. The last few weeks I feel like I have a full time job again. I have been so busy with Girl Scout cookies, baseball & swim team paperwork, FE's, bringing classroom work home to help the teachers, and planning Girl Scout meetings. I have a couple of hours of emails to return every night.

Welcome MommaFox, you have come to the right place. :thumbsup2 We have got you covered with information.

1) FE's--it sounds like you have seen what an FE looks like. We have an FE group, 30 cabins so far. You will get a list of all participants and cabin numbers, you get together little gifts either per person, or per cabin or however you want to do it. Then one day or night you will deliver all of your gifts to the other cabins. The other participants will do the same. So you will always been finding little gifts in your FE. The kids have a blast and love coming back to the cabin to find presents.

2) Wrist bands, I ordered lime green wrist bands for our group so we can easily identify our group in the port or around the ship. They are relatively cheap, approx. $1.50 per band. If you would like to be added to the list, just let me know. More information to come for everyone on how to pay.

3) Check out this awesome website that Connie (Travelbee) made for our group. http://april-17-2011-mexicanriviera.weebly.com/ It has a roll-call, meet information, wrist band, lanyard information. If you want to have your picture added to the roll call, you can email Connie.

4) There are lots of parents and kids your daughters age on this cruise.

Hi Kel,

I also see you on FB too:goodvibes Added you guys to the FE list. Easter eggs or anything Easter would be excellent FE gifts. Yes, I have also read there is not much on the ship for Easter. I will be bringing eggs to do a small hunt in our room. Don't think I will be doing baskets.

This link at the top of the main forum is great information about DCL and the DIS boards. Lots of FAQ's.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966

I don't know if you have to read all the way back to the beginning of the meet thread. It was really slow in the beginning with mostly just me, Sandy (Szubieta), and Dany (LV Disney Fan(atic) talking for a while. We lost a lot of the early posters. I would start reading from maybe June 10 till now.

Can't wait to meet you guys. You will love DCL.

Hi Kel! In Manzanillo a bunch of us are going to caravan over to Tesoro (I think that's where they filmed the movie "10" with Bo Derek". This was originally offered as a DCL excursion but for some reason they canceled it! The all inclusive cost is somewhere between $41 or $29/A and the little people are about half...we're trying to confirm which price it is...getting conflicting info! A taxi is about $12 max each way. I think with a slew of us we'll have safety in numbers.

We've been to Cabo several times and we usually just go to "The Office" which is a bar on the beach. If you buy a few beverages they'll provide you with a lounge chair and umbrella where you can park yourself on the beach and watch the kids play. Last time we were there we rented jet skis and DH took the kids out while I enjoyed the lounge chair and my adult beverage. I however, did NOT enjoy "Hey Lady, you wanna buy" but what can you do, these folks are trying to make a living!

Anyway, welcome. We're not shy here at all....;)

:welcome:mommafox.we have a fun group.i just see a post on the general forum that says that in the magig,on eastear the white rabit shows up,cm´s passing chocolate eggs, and wearing bunny ears, beautiful display on the restaurantes entrance, and various religious services, let´s hope on the wonder they do the same.
