Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

hi! We're on board too. I don't know what all the initials mean (DH etc) but there's me, hubby, and new baby on second seating, traveling from western PA. My username is loving _life (note there is a space before the underscore... don't know how but I have to live with it). What happens with all this info.. do we all try to meet? Anyone compile a list of those with fish extenders? Take care!!:yay:

Hi, Kristen, and welcome to the group! We've already started a Fish Extender list and it's being organized by True Romance. I'm sure she'll see your post and add you to the list. Another cruiser, Travelbee has started a web page for us with a roll call, list of FE participants, links to excursion info, etc. Check it out at
http://april-17-2011-mexicanriviera.weebly.com/

And Brooklyn set up a Facebook page. I can't find the link right now but I think it's in Brooklyn's signature. Lots of great places to go to find info on our cruise! :cool1:

Welcome Loving_Life! :welcome:

Inbetween napping I have looked at the navigators for 05 & 08 MR. Seems that "Pirate Night" was on PV day both years. In 05 it was day 4 & in 08 it was day 5. So I wonder if there something special about PV for pirate night and if that's going to be our "Pirate Night"? This is only based on 2 navigators that I found. :confused3

DD = dear or darling daughter
DS = "" son
DH = dear husband or (darn depending on the day)
Of course on this board, the D can also stand for Disney instead of Dear or Darling! ;)

Welcome Loving _Life!

Jareds_mommy, I'm also interested in what everyone is doing for Easter, I wish I knew what DCL was going to do. At this point, I'm still thinking about it.

its going to be crazy busy when we are in PV spring break in mexico (holy week) and 3 cruise ships in port

Hooks Point is upstairs, next to the bar. Really yummy. Good price for a steak dinner. Of all the Character Breakfasts, Storytellers has the best food. Goofy's Kitchen-mediocre. Same with Ariel's Grotto.
There's always Mimi's (my personal favorite) across the street on Harbor.
Candy Cane Inn and Howard Johnson's are also good choices for hotel.

Susan - Have not made it to Hooks point it is always closed when we are there, but did go to Steakhouse 55 in Disneyland. OMG it was so good and so so expensive.

Love the Candy Cane Inn, that is one of our choices when traveling, if there is no bargins on DLH

So what are you all doing for Easter for your kids on the ship??
Do you thing DCL will do anything, I asked on the main forum but no clear answer there either
Brooklyn got some information regarding Easter on the ship. Brooklyn...

We'd love to participate, if anyone has ideas. Otherwise, Easter Bunny is stopping by our house a week late.

HaHa, I was going to say...If you win the lottery, be sure to eat at Steakhouse 55. We did eat there once, and had the private dining room, but we were with a very generous host.
And Club 33 is a wonderful experience, if you happen to know someone (who knows someone...)

Would love to experience club 33, but have not. Have been to a special event at the gallery where they served Champagne and 2 old Mousekaters (sp) were there. Susie and Bobbie I think were their names. I believe it was a special event for the 100 mickey paintings.

I think Bobby Burgess stays active with the Disney organization.:earboy2:
If you dine at Club 33 you need to spend a minimum of whatever it costs to get into Disneyland (currently $74 or so for single park) But your reservations include park admission. Ain't cheap, but fun.

Well...looks like we might need to jump on getting a group together for the pirate ship. :confused3 I really would like to do this especially for JoJo and Danny, but I really want to too mostly to snorkel. We can't suba dive again until JoJo is 10, so I trained him at 4 to snorkel. :dance3:

We'd like to do this, too. 3 adults and 1 child.

The last two times we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach, but I'm not sure what we're doing this go around yet. Sense we disembark on a Wednesday, I'm considering spending a few days at DL after the cruise. Is anyone else closing out the week at DL after the cruise?

My family is spending Wed through sunday after the cruise at DL not sure where were staying yet or how were getting there. We'll decide after we book airfare.

Laura, I couldn't find any more info. about this Pirate Sail. pirate: Is this a Disney excursion? Have they been posted yet? Sounds like fun. Would DS19 enjoy it?

I found it posted from DL past MR cruise. I'm sure they'll offer it this yr. We may book with an outside company since Lea is considered and adult price and she is still child price through outside companies. I have no idea why disney considers a child at age 10:confused:+

This does sound like the way to go. What is in the meal?

Sorry guys...I am stuck on the couch for a few days. Had knee surgery yesterday and Danny hardly let me up even though it feel good to walk. :tiptoe: I am already going batty.

Hope your feeling better:hug:

I was going to book the pirate ship excusion through this comapny:

http://www.puertovallartatours.net/marigalante-pirate-ship.htm

They seem to have it listed at the lowest price that I have found plus they said that they meet you at the cruise ship terminal and that you get a special VIP wristband.

Also, we may not go because DH(cory) doesn't like to spend the whole day off the ship and we have early dinning and not sure if we don't get back till 4:30/5 pm we wont have time to shower and get ready for the evening activities. Not to mention our girls may be too tierd to make it to pirate night and the nightly show

It's about the same price as the other company mentioned gives you a 15% discount when ordering online. Are all these companies offering the same tour/boat?pirate: It does sound like a really long day and night when you consider all that time on the beach and boat, then (most likely) Pirate Night on the ship. Might have to have a snooze on the beach. Also, if 3 ships are scheduled to be in PV that same day, should we plan on reserving soon to guarantee a spot? Wish DCL would hurry and release their shore excursions.

I just wanted to post my trouble with booking a room through Crowne Plaza in San Pedro, they are all independantly run so they gave me different quotes everytime I called :( this was for a family of 5 for the fly and sail. I then called the 1-800 number and recieved a com[pletely different and cheaper deal so I booked through them! Just a heads up ;)

The first time I called I got quote for 349, so I called my DH to see if that was a go, he said yes so I called back to reserve, and got a different quote of 479!! So I was a little miffed and called the 1-800 number where I got a quote of 329 so I booked!!:cheer2:

Crazy! Maybe if you keep calling the price will go lower.

What is included in the fly and sail? Thank you!

What is included in the fly and sail? Thank you!

Crowne Plaza "Fly and Sail" package which includes deluxe overnight accommodations for 2, two welcome house drinks, 2 buffet breakfast, 2 round trip airport transfers (LAX) and shuttle to and from the cruise ship
Sweetpea4 had to book a suite because they are a family of 5
and the transferes only cover the 2 adults so we will have to pay for the kids at the airport for their transfers
We booked a reg room and got it for $249 plus 14.5 % tax

we also looked at just room and seperate transfere for the 13 of us but it was almost the same price per family I think it saved $13 but with out 2 of the breakfasts
