Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

I'm pretty sure this is who we used when we were on the Magic MR in 2005. At that time, the Margilante was docked not too far away from the Magic so it was a quick walk. It was an excellent experience and my kids LOVED it. The food was good, the show was outstanding (they do ask for tips at the end) and entertaining the entire time and the stop on the private island was a blast. At that time they had the banana boat running and they had snorkeling equipment. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour if you're having second thoughts. I'll try to dig up our digital pics (on a different computer) and post them. On the way home a couple of us did get seasick, so bring bonine just in case. ;)

That's what I figure, that it can't be too far from the ship. Do you remember if the pirate night was that same night on your cruise? So awesome to hear it was a great shore excursion. Would love to see pics if you have time. :thumbsup2

I still haven't heard from the company yet. :confused3 I will give them a couple more days.

I'll look in my scrapbook to see what night pirate night was. Can someone refresh my memory on posting pics. It's been a while. I have to put it up on photobucket (or the like), right? And then it gives me a link to put here...am I on track?

Yep, you got it - that's exactly how you post pictures. :thumbsup2

Sandy - Pirate night was the night we left PV in 2008 too. BTW, how's your knee doing? :flower3:

Has anyone read the thread with rumors about possible port changes on the MR cruises? No real info yet, but DCL has added Guaymas as one of the ports that MR cruises visits (if you look in the Destinations area) but doesn't specify which cruise is going to go there. That, along with the fact that the itinerary information isn't showing up for MR cruises when you go to the My Cruise Plans area on DCL (except for Cabo) has people speculating that Disney may be making some changes. Doesn't really matter to me; I guess we'll know fairly soon one way or the other.

Next month is 120 days out for the first MR cruises in January - hopefully that means DCL will finalize everything and finally put out the shore excursion info!

I saw that thread yesterday and read all through it, does give you something to think about! Why would DCL change ports other than due to warnings of violence? I am not familiar with cruising at all, so i'm lost on why the ports are not showing up. As for my itinerary, I logged onto my DCL account and on the itinerary, it still showed all ports (Manzanillo, PV, etc.)

Thanks I'm doin' really great. I still have a slight limp. Might try to go out tomorrow. ;)

To me it seems that the boards started these threads about the MR out of fear of the unknown. As far as I'm concerned Mexico is no different than going to Jamaica or St. Maaten. They are 3rd world countries and we are at our most alert. I have a girlfriend that has a place in Mazatlan and says that the cartel is always up to something in the jungles, but they go at least twice a year and don't go into the jungle. I'm thinkin' it all boils down to them getting the right ports on the right days. No Worries for us as yet! :thumbsup2

If they change the itinerary, how does it affect our shore excursions? How long should we wait to book them?

Every cruise line reserves the right to change or skip ports at any time, due to weather, safety, illness, mechanical issues, whatever. All of this MR itinerary change is just rumor at this point, so I would go ahead and book whenever you decide what you want to do. Just make sure that any independent shore excursions you book are fully refundable if the ship is delayed into port or doesn't get there at all; that goes for any cruise. Most independents will do that, but I have seen a few that are non-refundable (I would never book those).

The Pirate Adventure in PV does have a cancellation clause in case your cruise has a change in plans. Good to know. pirate:

Hope everyone had a great wk and is ready for the wkend. I can't wait till my kids go back to school on Tuesday:cloud9: This will be me on tuesday morning at 8:05am:dance3::woohoo::yay::dance3::woohoo::yay::thumbsup2

Also, I have been thinking that were not going to do the pirate excusion in PV. Although it does look fun I was thinking it may be too long of a day this is what I was thinking I would love some input ;)

The excusion Runs:
Daily from 9:00AM to 4:30PM. Actual Ship Departure will be at 10:00AM, but activities begin at 9:00 AM.

Duration: 6.5 hours

So of we make it back to our room by 5pm and we have first seating for dinner so will all have to shower in 1 room in 30 min or less to make it to dinner. Than 1 1/2 hrs to eat and then the evening show around 45 min or so. Then Pirate night activities after show around 9pm. So were at 12 hrs already of running around and that is not including the priate show and buffet after fireworks. I just don't think my kids will make it that long without some down time(little alone me and cory;))
I'm thinking we need to pick an excuison around 3/4 hrs the most.

What do you guys think?

This makes sense to me...I didn't think of this way. It does make for a long day. We will have Macy(almost 5) and Sean(3). I'm not so sure they would make it through the day. Plus the only way I get dh to go on a Disney Cruise is to tell him how "relaxing" it is. At this pace I think he might throw me overboard!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2:

I really don't think that Pirate Night is going to be the night we leave PV next year. We are scheduled to leave PV at 10 pm, which doesn't leave enough time to get out to sea and do the fireworks at a reasonable time. I'll check my old Navigators, but I'm sure we left much earlier in 2008. Of course, we aren't going to be sure until DCL tells us, but I wouldn't worry about planning my PV day around Pirate Night. pirate:

Susie- do you know if DCL offers this excursion as well or is it only offered by outside agents?
This is my DCL too, so it's all new to me. This looks like the best price, although I'm hoping DCL will offer it, too, because I'm saving up a lot of Disney gifts cards to use. Can someone give us a heads up when DCL releases their shore excursions?

I didn't look at the time we are leaving PV so this does make sense that they won't offer it that night if we don't leave till 10pm.

The Pirate Ship was offered as a DCL excursion in 2008. Here's the description:

Pirate Sail & Snorkel Adventure (6.5 hours)
Meeting Time: 8:00am
YO HO! It's the pirate life aboard the Marigalante. You'll be welcomed aboard this "pirate ship" by the congenial captain and crew. You'll be served breakfast, watch the sails be hoisted, and cheer for your favorite contestant in the pirate contest. There's lots of fun in store as you set sail for the two hour voyage to Majahuitas Beach. You'll drop anchor at this secluded spot and have 2 hours to swim, surf and sun. There's a sand sculpturing contest, beach volleyball and other games for you to enjoy. You'll head back onboard the Marigalante for a delicous barbecue lunch. During your two hour cruise back to the port, the captain and crew will put on a pirate show with fun contests for you to take part in.

Our first crusie we took we wanted to do everything. We never had a moment of down time. After that cruise we knew we had to slow down and releax a little or we would never want to cruise again:confused:

We are only planning on getting off the boat in cabo and PV and we are staying on the rest of the time. There is so much to do on the boat that we feel that its a destination on its own:cloud9:

Okay...so this would put us back to the ship 2:30ish or 3:30ish at the latest. That may be doable for us. Thanks for the info!;)

Yes! Personally I would love to NEVER get off the ship.:goodvibes DH likes to do things but not too much if that makes sense.

Here's a secret: DH thinks his blackberry doesn't work on the ship. PLEASE DO NOT TELL HIM ANY DIFFERENT, LOL.

Really good point...there are sooo many days to do the pirates night. I have been on my laptop way too much doing research. :badpc: Well...we probably won't know which night is what until we get in 2011 anyway. :headache: I need to work on our other cruise for a while. JoJo and I have watched the Harry Potter movies this week. Thinkin' bout going to Universal Orlando for a few days after that cruise. That place looks like it will take at least 2 or 3 days to tour well :woohoo:

WHAT???? My Blackberry will not work!!! YEAH! :cool1: I plan to disengage from work and stay disengaged for 2 weeks. Let someone else deal with the problems.
