Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

How IN THE WORLD do you guys keep it a secret?!?!:confused3 I talk about it everyday and Danny & I know what the "days left" are everyday...I can't contain my excitement about a cruise let alone a DISNEY CRUISE!!! :hyper: :hyper: :rotfl: :rotfl: :cloud9:

It's been tough, really tough. We talk in code and generalities. The kids were very involved in planning for our last two DCL cruises and this time we just decided to surprise them. They ask when we're going to see Kaylee and her fam again and they ask when we're cruising DCL again. So we know they'll be thrilled and we really want to change it up by doing the last thing they're expecting!!! Should be fun....!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the navigator posts... im sure it'll be slightly different, but they do come in handy. We aren't big soda drinkers, but the picture cracked me up! this board is so full of great:banana: info!!!

Sandy, I love your enthusiasm. You are like our cheerleader, come on 10 weeks left, we can make it :cool1: I am the same way, I cannot stop talking about the cruise. My husband is a little over it (I am obsessed with travel talk) so I need to curb the talk with him. Just wait till we have one month left and I just overflow with all of my information and plans.

I would like to rebook onboard for 2012, but not sure what to book. I don't want to bring it up to my DH because he would probably shoot me for even thinking about it. Pretty much I control the vacation/travel plans and he just has to go with it. I would love to do the Caribbean again, but air is so expensive for 5. I really wish Disney would have an itinerary out of Galveston, because that would be halfway for us and we have family in Houston we could visit. I am eager to see what they do with the Magic when the Fantasy starts sailing. 2013 is definitely going to be a big trip for us. The Med, TA, PC, or something. It will be my 40th and I want a nice trip I have dreamed of. Gotta do the biggies when my kids are young and it is not a huge deal taking them out of school for a couple of weeks. I know once they hit high school that will be difficult.

Just looked at the Roll Call and I love seeing the families. I have not seen half of the people post in a while, I bet we have lost a few.

Cayla gave me the site of a cheaper band company and I am going to see if we can get some Mickey or DCL logo on them.

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope you have a great weekend.

I finally booked the Fantasy for June 2012. I hesitated, hoping I could wait and get the rebooking discount, but the prices went up over $800 from Sunday to Thursday, so I had to 'take the plunge' .
Weather is So.Cal. is 75 and predicted to be 80 degrees tomorrow. You are all welcome to spend Superbowl Sunday at Disneyland with me!

Hey, we're holding a June 2012 Fantasy booking too! :thumbsup2
Of course this far in advance I consider it a bit tentative since I have no idea whether it will actually work with everyone's schedules or not. I really hope it does though, especially if prices have jumped that much recently. Yikes!

My family would pitch a fit if we didn't do a Superbowl party. It's tradition around here. I think it's usually more about the food than the game though. :lmao:

Have fun at Disneyland tomorrow!

So many people on the FE list....awesome! I see so many people who have children close to the same ages as ours (Macy almost 5 and Sean 3). Would like to know if anyone here would like to link dinner reservations (we are early seating). We are fine with dining with "others" as we have done it on other Disney cruise but I think I would prefer to dine with fellow Disers if anyone is interested.:grouphug: (We were originally linked with disers but they decided not to cruise)

Sorry for hijacking your thread Kristi.

So, in order to figure out my packing (yea, just a little OCD) I need to know the pattern of dress for dinner. I have the other two cruises I am on, but need this one...does anyone know which nights are casual, formal, semi-formal and pirate?

Thanks in advance!
Cayla

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Since I am packing for a month I really need to figure out my outfits, and laundry!

Oh Cayla, I wish I could stow away in your cabin for the repo and the Alaska cruises. However, I think my husband would find another wife to take care of the kids if I did that.

I an anxious to hear all about your month long adventure when you return. Are you doing a trip report?

You could join the party that seems to happen in my luggage when ever I travel!

As far as trip reports, when I do them it is usually on FaceBook...I can post it here if folks are interested. I know that someone was interested in how I pack for this type of trip. So here is my technique...I make a list of the number of dinners of each type (formal/semi/casual/palo/brunch)
then I pick dresses/slacks/skirts each get worn multiple times and tops that will mix with any of the bottoms. I actually make up a list of what I would wear (this doesn't mean I will actually wear those exact outfits - but it gives me a feel for how much I will need). Shoes are actually the hard part - I end up with as many as 6 pair!

I know it sounds silly, but I keep a list. At the end of each trip I figure out what I didn't wear or touch...and delete it from the next packing list. This will be my 4th month long or near month long trip...I have gone from 3 checked bags to almost a carryon size!

If anyone wants to see the spreadsheet I use - PM me...I will forward it, but the clothing descriptions are specific to my closet!

Cayla

I need to take notes. I'm packing for 4 people. DH is due to get back days (maybe hours!) before we leave.:scared1:

Hi Everyone.

A bit late to the party it seems, but thought I'd pop in and say hi!

We're travelling from Melbourne Australia to take our first cruise. Really looking forward to the whole experience, even though we're not really sure what to expect (probably half the fun!)

Me - Penny, DH James, DS Lachlan (15) DD Lily (10) DD Charlotte (7)

Penny, glad to see you on this board. If you have any questions feel free to ask then here someone will have the answer. If you have a chance read at least the last half of what is already here it might help.

:welcome: We have a good group here and hopefully you will be able to get a lot on insight into the cruise. Travelbee (Connie) has created a website for our cruise with a lot of useful info.

Cayla, that is awesome. I am an OCD planner too. Love that you keep notes and then eliminate items from your list for future trips.

Welcome Penny!! I just saw that you joined the FB group too. So happy to have you join our group. I also have a 7 year old daughter. Take a look at the information about FE's and see if you want to participate. I am in charge of that. Helen posted the link to the website above. That has information on the Fish Extenders.

I do the same thing, my outfit page is almost done and ready for packing. :goodvibes But with this cruise and our last (15nt) being able to drive to port...it's sure hard to pack so light...really don't want to do any laundry. :rolleyes1

party: Welcome HoppingMad!!! :welcome: You are going to LOVE cruising, days at sea are the best. :thumbsup2 I hope you guys are planning a DL trip too or something else here in the states since your coming all that way.

:welcome:savin4wdw.we also sail in the magic last year and love it.My dd is 4
maybe she can play with your children.

We would love to connect with other kids close to or the same ages! Our girls' favorite thing on the Magic last year (well, other than the FE, of course, which was like mountains of pixie dust delivered every day) was hanging out with the kids of other DISers. We had set up an email correspondence with a few of the other kids ahead of time, so they all felt like they already had friends onboard before we even got on the ship. It worked out really well -- they couldn't wait to meet their DISfriends, and they had so much fun together throughout the cruise. If any of you would like to do that, feel free to PM me, and we can set it up.

On another note, we're thinking of going to DL after the cruise, but we're worried it will be too crowded; does anyone know if late April would be mobbed?
