Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Has anyone on this board ever been to Mexico during Easter? I am curious as to how packed the beaches will be during our trip.

I am thinking we may just end up sticking with the Disney beach excursions rather than venturing out on our own. -Virdis

We've been on a previous cruise to Mexico during Holy Week and yes, beaches were crowded but I don't remember it being unbearable. But I think Sandy is right about Mazatlan being especially busy since we will be there Easter Sunday.

4 MONTHS TO GO! So excited, especially since it's been raining all day here.

It's been raining all day here is Vegas, too, which is odd for December. But in 120 days we'll be enjoying our first evening at sea! :woohoo:

Same here...looks like we're all going to get some rain up to Christmas...I really feel for the East where our next 5 days will hit them for 2 weeks. :scared1:

Thanks...I think we will skip getting off in Mazatlan so that we can do a subset of our annual Easter activities with the kids on board the ship. As for the beaches, this is something to ponder for us. Kind of cool to think about beaches with all the cold and rain here in the bay area :cold:

I'm a new comer!

Welcome Wangzhe!

Virdis, we are going to Stone Island on Easter. It is a short walk then water taxi from the ship. I figure it is an easy couple of hours to get off the ship. It is not expensive and it is pretty laid back, not sure of the crowds though. I am planning on an Easter egg hunt in our staterooms and then a nice breakfast in Tritons before we head out.

Also, I am from San Jose but now live in Lincoln outside of Sacramento. So relatively close to SF. Our kids are around the same ages, I have a 5 year old son and a 7 year old daughter.

We are PIF and set to go. I added the gratuities to our account, got our travel insurance, and have been saving money for spending money. Just need to book our zip lining in PV, do our FE's and we are done. Yay!! Of course come the few weeks before the cruise I will be scrambling around with last minute things that come up.

Oh, I almost keep forgetting I also have the 2 day Wonder cruise in Jan. with just my husband and I. That will be fun.

4 months and counting, PIF! :dancer:Still need to make my FE. When should we expect a final count for FE?

Hey Kristi....very cool on having everything planned out so well so far. I must admit, I am having fun simply planning out things now. I think this trip is going to be sooooo awesome.

Yes, your kids are close in age to our kids. It would be nice to have the kiddos do an excursion with other kids their age. With the kids being so young right now, we were thinking beach activities would be a great diversion from the ship. I have to do some research on Stone Island and what we can do there. Right now, we are planning some Easter activities that Sunday that also include an Easter egg hunt as well as a few other things. If you have some pointers for Stone Island, please share.

And you guys are going on the Wonder in January....that has got to be exciting!!!! If you get a chance maybe you can report back some intel for all of us.

Hi... Haven't been posting much, because have been working on the Nutcracker and now preparing for our NYE Wonder cruise that leaves in 9 days :cool1:

When is our 90 day mark for this cruise? Jan 15 or Jan 16? Haven't really made any plans on this cruise.

We are going to revisit the FE list in the beginning of January and then decide on a cut off date. I am thinking we have lost some people from the list now that FP has passed.

Hey, if this rain keeps up, all of you Californians are going to float away long before April! Hope everyone is safe and dry. :grouphug:
Love, love, love the rain! But I am really hoping for a nice, warm, dry spring break this year.

I don't know if I have any pointers on Stone Island, as this will be our first time. I have just been doing a lot of research on Cruise Critic and it sounds like the perfect laid back day for us. We are going to take our time on the ship in the morning and then head out. We would love company if you guys decide to head off the ship for a few hours.

We also have late seating. If you feel like linking our reservations and sharing a table, let me know. However, our sons are not the best behaved at dinner. Most nights we will be partaking in Dine-n-Play. We think it would be fun to share a table with another family with kids close in age.

Can't wait to hear about your NYE cruise, how fun. Our 90 day mark is 1/17 according to the stuff I have received. However, that is EST, so we will be able to book the night of the 16th.

Thanks Kristi... I was having a hard time figuring it out. We are so excited for our NYE cruise. It will be our first time on the Wonder.

Last Friday was his last day of chemo. He's tired and has a problem with mouth sores, which I hear isn't uncommon. They trust in God's plan for him. Thanks for asking.:grouphug:

Glad that's over!! When does he find out if it worked? I am still praying for him and his family as well as yours. :grouphug: Truely it's a blessing to hear they trust in Him. :thumbsup2
