Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Thanks for the welcome! Frankly I am a little surprise that we are not seeing a big jump in numbers from the kids sail free promo. Anyway, on our last cruise, one of the Disers created a website for our cruise and I thought I'd offer to do it for this cruise. Check out the website and let me know if you think it's a good idea.

Connie - Love the website idea! I think one of the reasons for not having a big jump on the kid sail free, It took a while before it came up on the website as the special offer.

I am still baffled that not that many people are jumping at the great price for a 7 night NYE cruise. It is cheaper than the 5 night. Anyone want to come join us on the Dec 30 NYE cruise?

Connie- Love the website:thumbsup2 If your up to it I'm sure we would all appreciate it:worship:

Laura-my family would love to join you instead of going on our RCCL Cruise
( which I'm not too excited about) but my girls would already be back in school from winter break and would miss a whole wk of school(they are already missing a wk in april). I wonder if that is why the price is what it is. I believe most schools are already back in session January 3rd.

So I was thinking last night while I couldn't sleep:rolleyes1 about the KSF offer and why its not booking up like the other KSF offer and this is what I came up with:

1. Its almost a 2 wks cruise and if it happens to fall over schools easter break your kids would still have to miss a wk(like mine):teacher: and if it doesn't fall over easter bk then they'll miss 2 wks.

2. Unless you live on the west coast(or within driving distance) airfare to cali is very expensive( were looking at 1300$ plus just for airfare ,not to mention transportation to the port and hotel stay)

3. This is my number 1 thought:
There are not many cabins left for a family of 4(2A,2C) which is the best combo for the KSF offer. There is only cat. 4 and above left(for a family of 4) and is more expensive to book that then just a 7 day WC or EC at a cat 10 or 11. SO my thinking is that Disney should offer free upgrades now for us that are book in cat 10 and below and free up the cheaper cabins so more people can book the KSF offer at the lower price;)

Anyone want to call disney marketing and pitch this idea:lmao:

Several questions/comments....

1. The KSF offer has bummed me out, as I paid with DVC points, and DVC does not honor the offer. We are sailing at the "bottom of the boat" so to speak. I had initially said that any room is better than no room, but now I will always know that others got better rooms, as they only had to pay for the adults. Enough said. Gotta let go of that now!!!

2. Is there a "roster" of this cuise"? I'd do it, but have no idea how. Usually on page one, of DIS'ers names, cabins, kids ages, dining time, etc.

3. Any other single parents who may want to share Palo reservations?

4. We can't wait for this cruise!!! It can't get here soon enough....

Thanks everyone! This is really an active board, wow! Regarding the safety thing, I didn't give it a thought until my sister (who lives in Southern Cal) asked me if I was really going to Mexico. Unfortunately she has had some friends who were hurt while in Mexico due to the violence. Yes, it was in a border town but she just asked me about how the cities were that the cruise were as far as increased violence.

Anyhow, after research and talking to people on the Dis I believe it will be perfectly fine. If there are any problem I have NO PROBLEM staying on the ship for 10 days!:goodvibes

Also, I think this cruise might sell out as well. When I booked last night there was only one cat 9 left and it was hard to get that. It kept sending me to cat 5's.

I'm going to head back to the beginning of the thread now and start reading from page 1. I'll catch up soon!

Check out post #240...Kristi is on top of it...and shortly we might even have a webpage for our cruise. :woohoo:

I'm not single but if you want to tag along with us it's not a problem. We will probably be with my sister and BIL too so it's not like Danny and I will be necking at the table. :scared1: Well maybe a kiss or two at sunset. ;)

We can't wait either...I'm not even that excited about our Christmas cruise next year yet. :confused3 We have been on 2 other RC cruises and I have been waiting for 12 years for our first Disney cruise. :dance3:

I totally cracked up at the "necking". I have not heard that term in years. I just have to laugh thinking of a couple doing that in Palo on Disney:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah, since the original poster**I believe*** is no longer with this cruise, I don't think we can change the first post. I can repost the roll call like once a week or at whatever interval we think is best.

Am I showing my age?!?!?! :scared1: Oh well that's ok, I feel young at heart...I have to with my youngest 7, but my oldest is 32...so he makes me feel old. :scared: I will be 50 just 2 weeks before the cruise...that's still really young in my book. ;)

Connie, I loved that site you posted. What a fun cruise, I wish I was on it. That would be great to have our own site. Unfortunately, I have no HTML experience. If you feel up for it, go for it. That would really be fun.

Sounds like I have overwhelming support on the website idea. I'll check into it this weekend when I have more time and give you all an update. Our last cruise was fanastic and can't imagine being able to repeat that. We booked Cat 12 for $999 per adult with a KSF promotion so we paid a total of $2200 for a 11-night med. cruise for 3. Top it all, DCL upgraded us to a verandah for free!

May I suggest adding a link to that post to your signature? That way you'd only have to update that post. And if I get the website going, we can have all that info there...

Connie.. that is some great pixie dust !

Connie...I agree with lucky1, you are VERY lucky!! The website sounds great too! How can you see what cabins are still available for our cruise?

Hi! We are cruising to the Mexican Riviera on the April 17 10 day trip. I had heart palpitations when I hit the confirm button for our reservations. I am so excited!

It will be 4 of us: Me, DH, DS-15 and DD-5. We are from Western PA.

Looking forward to the adventure.

Last cruise was 20 years ago for our honeymoon. Hoping for a great experience with the kids this time.

How do we get included with the Fish Extenders? I love the idea.

Glad to have found this board. Have a great weekend.

Connie, I will give the link in my signature a try. Hey, how do you quote multiple people and messages in your reply? I have been trying to figure that out for ages.

I updated the roll call and here is the link. Welcome to our new members!!

Kristi - Thanks for keeping the Role call!!!! To do the multi person quote at the bottom of each comment you want comment on, just click on the "+ box next to the Quote box. Then when you get the last person's quote, then hit the quote box.

Hopefully that was clear.
