Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

when we have this menu last year on magic,it was nothing special going on,i think is just a menu they have on longer cruises, that put that one on the panama canal crossing too.i remember this menu was on formal nigth but i believe the menu for formal nigth on the wonder is the golden mickey menu.

Thanks! It looks like it's night 8 on our trip (Sunday, April 24), separate from formal (Golden Mickeys-night 2) and semi-formal (Captains Gala-night 9) dinners. Anyone planning to have girls dressing up this time around? princess:

Virdis,

I stumbled across a poker set at a garage sale and got it for free! It's got 2 decks of cards, 200 chips (100 white, 50 red, 50 blue), a dealer button, and a felt playing surface. It's kind of cheap, but I think it will get the job done for the cruise. What do you think? Do we need some more chips or do you think this is enough?

Now I just need some dark glasses and a hoodie to cover my "tell all" poker face :cool2: and I'm good to go!

Just want to share something I saw on another thread. Looks like we'll be able to book specific itinerary for 2012 when we sail!

I wasn't aware of the specific dinner for princes/princesses but my girls are bringing dresses. My 8yr old is fading on the princess dress up too but she's still got some that fit and she picked two to bring. My 5 (will be 6 this month year old) is also bringing two dresses. I was figuring that they'd wear them when the mood struck and/or on formal night but this prince/princess dinner seems like the perfect time!

I know there was some discussion on this earlier, but what is the deal with the "Princes and Princesses" menu/dinner? Are any of your girls wearing princess dresses that night? Or, are they taking dresses to wear just for photos or when the mood strikes, or any other event? I'm just not familiar with that dinner and how many kids dress up for it. Trying not to lug dresses along if they're not going to wear them. Sadly, I think the girls might be nearing the end of their "princess" phase so this may be the last "hurrah". Any words of enlightenment on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Rats -- I had forgotten about the princess dresses. One more thing to pack...

DD will have princess dresses with her, and like Maria's girls - to wear when the mood strikes. For formal night, I got a cute Easter dress from Target.princess:
Maria - send me a PM about DL on Sunday. We're game :thumbsup2

Relax, you have 17 days! I showed DH my boxes of 'do not forget' stuff. He thinks we are taking way too much. (Remember, this is a guy who travels around the world stuffing his worldly goods into a backpack) Hello...10 days worth of stuff I might need! I haven't even started the actual packing. That will be in about 16 days.

9 more days of school!!! :woohoo:

If you need something that you actually forgot...call me. I probably have it...seriously...that goes for anyone else too. :thumbsup2

Hey Kristi...is the FE list finished yet? Would like to get things buttoned up this week. Thx, Sandy

Sandy, I have not gotten any more room changes. So it is done, go ahead and take a look and print away.

How does the protocol for port room changes go for the FE? Do they make announcements at the 3pm meet, should people text/call my cell?

Oh my gosh, Virdis, you are amazing. I was already impressed that you had developed an algorithm for checking cabin availability, and now here you have a second one for comparison purposes. :worship: Are you by any chance a statistician???

LOL...thanks for the compliment. No I am not a statistician. I am just overly excited to go on a vacation. I really need one. I work for a top secret clandestine government agency.....ok...the City of San Francisco MTA department as a principal systems engineer. The math whiz in our family is my darling DW (Ann-Marie) who is a math teacher.

If my better half didn't have her "intervention" with me, I was headed to create an application or website that would pull data from DCL or online travel sites (like Travelocity, Orbitz, etc...) to automatically fetch the rooms. I was really getting tired my original method of changing our room on DCL website to see what was open. I think I have an idea how to create. But I wouldn't have time to create anyway because I have TONS of work to do before I leave for vacation. Maybe if we decide to do another DCL trip, I will try (that is....if this one works out....even with the Kids Sail Free promo we got, I still have a little bit of sticker shock).

YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I am game to play. I just got to dust off the poker cobwebs...haven't played in almost a decade. My wife and I used to go to Reno a lot (during the good old dotcom days.....way before we had kids) and I would hit the poker rooms then. Lately I've been watching the WSOP on TV. My favorite player is Greg Raymer aka Fossil man. Got to find some cool glasses like he has :rotfl: Can't wait to get my feet wet again. I think we can make it work with those chips. Like I said its just for fun so it doesn't have to be anything fancy. We got to plan a time to hook up. Let's work something out over the next couple of weeks.

Wow! I think you might have missed your calling as a top secret clandestine government agency travel engineer! Since you and Ann-Marie are such numeric pros, is there any chance you could help us with our taxes? :lmao:

For those with DDs who want opportunities to wear their princess dresses, may I suggest wearing it to the character breakfast? They'll get to take photos with Mickey & friends with their dresses and the best part is - you don't have to wait in line and they come to you! Makes great photo opportunities. Also, one of the activities in the kids club is a "royal ball" where Cinderella teaches the kids how to waltz. Many kids dress up for that.

Off to camping for the weekend in what appears to be a gorgeous SoCal weekend! Have a great weekend everyone!

Have a great camping weekend Connie. Really wish we could go this weekend too, but we have too many other commitments. Went to Tahoe yesterday with a friend to take the boys sledding and snow boarding. It was hot and I was just in short sleeves, but there was to much snow!! I was sinking up to my waist to take the boys out. I have never seen so much snow up there. Might try again after the cruise when some of the snow melts. Love living an hour from Tahoe. We can do quick trips up there after school.

Going to run my first race on Sunday. A short 5K, but it is huge for me. I am so not a runner, but I am trying to force myself to do it. My friends might have to drag me to the finish line. Then after the race to reward myself we will be heading to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Hoping to meet up with Kel and family.

Happy Friday everyone!!

those is group 2 FE would anyone mind if we delivered earlier in the cruise?
Ours is something to use on board, but I am not telling :rotfl:

We certainly don't mind...

Good question?! I know we're going to try to upgrade at the port as is Kaylee (fourmcds). What if people miss the meet? Wow, this does get complicated doesn't it!:confused3 I wanna upgrade but I want our FE goodies too, lol! :rotfl:

Hello all,
