Thanks for all the responses regarding what to pack... I'm starting my excel sheet too! All my coworkers thinks that I am nuts!

My parents are going on the trip with us... and they can't survive 2 days without rice. Any idea if they have asian rice on the cruise? Can we request it at dinner?

That would be the ones I use...I use about 8 of them. I don't overstuff them, and use different ones for different types of clothing...formal stuff in one, pirate in another, undies in a tiny one, bras and undershirts you get the idea!

When Mary emailed me that she had gotten my list I had opened my checked bag to look for my oops or "oh s _ _ t" kit...you know all those tiny things that get lost in the bottom of the bag? I keep them all in a zippered lure kit (from Cabella's a great find!) that has zip compartments and is soft, so it takes up very little space - it weighs 2 pounds tho! Then I actually realized that I keep some stuff prepacked that is just for Disney or travel in general – that includes all my ID, passport, copy of my medical insurance, auto insurance policy, living will, and power of attny. I also keep a toothbrush in both bags, toothpaste, deodorant (both a rock and crème types),and a bath scrubby as well as soap and a spare set of undies, socks and bra in the carryon/computer bag at all time!

Most of this comes from having needed it at some point. If one prechecks one’s luggage at WDW then gets stuck there…it is nice to have a change of undies! I actually use owners locker, but even that goes the morning of the last day there, and I usually try for the last flight out so I have the whole day to wander around…so, I keep some emergency stuff in the computer bag!

I just booked today through. I received a tentative confirmation, but am to receive details in up to 48 hours?! So, i'm hoping! They had more time options than through Disney and cheaper! $105 through Disney and $65 through these guys. We shall see! We are set for the 25th, which is DD's birthday, turning 4 and DS who is 6. I figured it would be a good lil' birthday gift! Hope that helps!!

For those in our FE group, don't worry he has a cow milk allergy (not anaphylactic) just behavioral. He does eat small amounts of milk chocolate and things with milk, we just have to keep tabs on making sure it is just small amounts along with ibuprofen (helps a little). So don't worry on any deliveries. Besides dad LOVES junk food. And the EB is bringing some non-candy things for him.

FYI...If anyone is getting their Disney Redemption Card, it is currently taking about 11 days to get.

One Month and I'm not packed yet. It's hit me hard today...we are at the 30 day countdown.

Re. Cabo Pool Break

Virdis.....I agree....the resort looks really nice. I think my kids are going to be ready for a BIG pool by this time, not to mention the beach. I'm gonna stick with the excursion, but will try to be prepared, and not expect a chair!!!

We are booked for this as well but I couldn't find the post you are talking about...
I hope it turns out to be a nice excursion. I have been bragging to all of my friends up north that we will be hanging out at a nice resort in Cabo for Easter.

I started the thread because we were debating between the two for Monday. We wanted the beach resort (got some good reviews) but it was full so we went with the pool resort. DH and I decided after reading the 1 review that we should try and switch and the beach resort was open again so we did. I am having doubts though, it is more expensive with less time. Plus as Virdis said, it is just 1 review. I just want to make sure either excursion is worth the cost. We plan on doing Cabo on our own on Sunday but I wanted to make sure we got some good pool time in on our last port day. Plus, with the earlier departure time and also 2nd day in Cabo I am assuming the ship will be more full on Monday. I am going to look for more reviews of the 2 excursions over the next few weeks. Hoping that at least one of them looks like it will be worth trying or we may just do lunch at the marina that day.

Yes...I saw the review too. The pictures of the resort looked great but her experience getting a chair at the pool was a bummer. I think we will still do the pool getaway excursion for Easter Sunday though. Keep in mind that it is just one review and the circumstances may be different by the time our cruise rolls around.

Also, I think we want to be at beach instead of pool side. My kids will enjoy playing in the sand more than the pool. We probably want to get in the pool while there but majority of time will be on beach.

So, I was looking at our excursions tonight (no I did not look at rooms ) and noticed the Cabo Resort Beach Excursion is now open for Easter Sunday. I decided to change to this excursion for us.

On researching the Cabo Pool Getaway excursion, I discovered the resort that you go to is the Playa Grande resort. The Cabo Resort Beach Getaway excursion is at the Villa del Palmar Beach resort. Both resorts have gotten good reviews on Tripadvisor (site that I look at reviews for resorts). But looking at the DIS board, it looks like more people have given positive reviews to the Cabo Resort Getaway and mentioned kids having a blast on the kid pools and slides.

The only thing I can find on the boards regarding Cabo Pool Getaway was the less than stellar review mentioned above. So given the information (or lack of information) about Cabo Pool Getaway, I decided to make the change.

I also ran accross the following link about the Playa Grande resort that may interest folks.

Supposedly, the resort has a brunch which if you purchase, allows you to use the pool area. I emailed the resort to inquire about brunch on Easter Sunday but have not gotten a response.

Since DCL has been known (at least on our cruise dates) to cancel excursions, I have a backup. I think a while back Lisa mentioned "The Office on the Beach". Here you can order libations and food while relaxing on the beach. Below is their website.

It might not be 'asian' but you should be able to get plain rice without issue. Just tell your server the first night that they would like a bowl of rice with every meal...he/she will do their best to make it happen!

aaawwww, you are making me blush....my biggest triumphs with packing include getting 25 pieces of luggage/computer bags and carryon bags in a ford explorer...oh yea and 4 people!

It has been a few years...but as I recall there were taxis only a short walk from the tender docks, or you can walk into the main part of town (about 10 min easy walk) and get a cab there as well. The only thing...do you speak Spanish? I understand you set negotiate the cab price before you get into the cab!

I sent our request to DCL today and they are reaching out to the ships planning group to see if they can accomodate us. He told me that it's typically hard to get these events booked on the sea days as the ship uses most of the locations for activities. On the 11 night Med cruise our wine tasting was on a sea day. I'm hoping that since this is also a long cruise that they will be able to pull it off. Let's get the pixie dust going

Wow, thanks for sharing, that's good to know. I had actually contacted the Palmar directly about daypasses, and was considering going there. The day passes are $50/adult $25/child and include meals and "national drinks". The woman I spoke with said it's a short taxi ride from the port. The daypasses are available from 10-5, and she suggested getting there early to ensure that there would be availability. Note this is a timeshare resort, so there may be some sales pressure.

The other place I was considering was the Hilton. The daypasses there are also $50/adult, children free, but do not include food/drink.

That is weird. I just went in to the DCL site to check, and I can still book it on both Day 8 (Easter Sunday) and Day 9. I don't know why that is. I thought since this is our first DCL cruise, we would be the last to be able to book so, everyone else could also book too. I suggest calling DCL by phone to see if you can book over phone. Maybe they have a system problem that is not allowing you for some reason.

Yay!!!! Very cool. I was thinking about buying some cheapo plastic poker chips and bringing them on board. We would not play for real money as I think I would probably lose badly and my dear wife would kick me out of our cabin Also, I haven't played poker in almost 10 years so I am super rusty. It would be just for fun.
