Dieting for Disney

Momrek - I was just about to go to bed and I caught your message. I don't care what I may desire as a physique, if I can't get it through hard training and strict dieting then I don't need it. I can gaurantee that this man will never touch anything like steroids but thanks for the words of encouragement. Also, I would like to add 300 extra steps. That's great!! :thumbsup2

I am glad that I was able to give you the thoughts of taking it easy when you come back from vacation. I do try to do some form of exercise even while I am on vacation. On this last trip, I was doing some push-ups, sit-ups and I even used a chair that was in my room and did curls and tricep extensions. I didn't do a lot but I was just trying to get a little pump before I went to the parks. Of course, it never lasts that long but it was a good thought. But one thing I do no matter if I am on vacation, gone to a conference or at work, I will always take my vitamins. I never miss a day. It is a ritual with me like brushing my teeth. I just don't feel right without them.

The weights are actually a real good idea. They will add extra resistance which will add to the calorie burning. They will also give you a little change to your routine. A lot of people will take those little weights and while they are walking they will do curls, shoulder presses, both or just sway them with your natural movement of your arms as you are walking. This will also help you use muscles that you don't always use while in the gym. If you decide you want to up the ante, you can try power walking with the weights. This may be what you are already doing. I don't know. But power walking really is a fast walk, like walking with a purpose. You are trying to get somewhere fast without running. I have read reports where people were doing power walking and burning anywhere between 400-800 calories per hour. That's pretty intense.

I hope that answers your question. Everyone, I will be back tomorrow. Feel free to check out my trip report. I just added day five which was the day that we went to Kennedy Space Center. One last thought. Tomorrow is a brand new day. No one knows what is instore for any of us. Take advantage of this bit of knowledge and run with it. Know that you can make whatever you want of tomorrow so BE SUCCESSFUL! BE EXCITED! AND BE MOTIVATED!

Yeah! I'm excited, I feel motivated...........and all because if this thread!  Yesterday wasn't the greatest of days, moodwise, but today is another day as you mentioned and it's time to get back on track! I already watered all of our gardens and trees, had breakfast and am ready to start the workday!

Momrek & Bubba! Thanks for the walking with weights idea. I do have weights that are basically gathering dust :smooth: , but walking with them just might do the trick for me. Let me know how you like it Momrek.

Quick question for you. Have any family members or friends ever sabotaged your weightloss efforts? The reason I ask, is that I think I may just have such a friend. This past weekend, we went to a pool party together and she commented on my weightloss saying I looked great. We then proceeded to talk about how I'm losing this weight. Three days later, another friend and I went to this possible sabotager's house for a quick morning visit. She immediately gets out some pecan pie (which she knows is my favourite) and some very sugary lemonade. I was very shocked, particularly since it was 10am, but also because we had just talked about my weightloss goals. It may be just a coincidence, but I'm not sure. What do you think? Thankfully I was the one cutting the pieces of pie, so I was able to cut a small piece for me and only drink a little of the lemonade. I didn't want to offend her by having nothing? :confused3 Anywho, I'd be interested to hear if any of you have sabotagers in your lives.

Today will be a good day, I can feel it! A friend is coming over for a visit this afternoon, and I've cut up some fruit and made some low-fat dip. Ahhh summer!

I feel blessed to have found this wonderful thread with such wonderful people in it. Hearing your stories and encouraging one another is such a powerful motivator isn't it? Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend exercising and having fun!!

It's been a while since I've posted, but I've been reading diligently. Congratulations to all of you!! Everyone seems to be doing their absolute best.

We returned from WDW on Wednesday and I was giving myself one week before I weighed. Well, I did today. Shock of a lifetime. Although I tried to be good while gone, I did indulge. My goal was to gain no more than two pounds. I didn't think about that while I got the second helping of apple cobbler at Cape May Cafe. But anyway... I lost one pound over a two week vacation!!!! I know we all walk a lot while at WDW, but I think this year I walked more than I used to. I walk 3.5 miles 3 times a week here in addition to working out 3 times a week. I was pooped from all of the walking so I'm thinking I was close to doubling it. This has been a major motivator for me. I'm closing in on 40 pounds and still have further to go. 40 has been a benchmark for me and I'm about to see it in the rearview window. What a great feeling.

For those who post regularly - Thank you! I get the updates on my email and I always enjoy reading them. I'm so proud of all of you for continuing to work towards your goals.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

The sabotage game is one of great popularity. I come from a family of fierce eaters. If we get together, we eat. (Whatever to just getting together to catch up?) What is always the typical fare toeat when together? Well, we live in the South where just about everything is fried or covered in butter so you can only imagine what it would be. On top of that, they always add a big glass of sugary, sweet tea. I know when I first started my diet, everyone (it seemed) to try to get me to get off of it right away. But, as I have stated in the past, I started off very extreme. My weight had affected my health, not theirs. I was the one that had to make the conscious efforts to decide what is more important to me. I decided that my goals were more important than if I offended my friends or family on what I eat or what I didn't. For 6 months, I didn't cheat at all. I was eating less than 1500 calories a day (sometimes, less than 1000) and I was doing push ups and sit ups everyday. Did this work? Yes, it did but believe it or not, my health was even worse than before because the way I was doing the diet was not safe. Since then, I have learned the right way to do things. I have learned what is safe. Also, I have a lot of family members that have decided to join the "healthy" lifestyle and they all have been seeking my counsel. These are the same people that I thought were trying to sabotage me when I first started so many years ago. Eventually, it will come full -circle.

Also, don't get down. It is ok to have a piece of pie every once in a while. It helps with those insatiable cravings. If you don't have those little "guilty" pleasures from time to time, when you finally do get a bite out of that pie, you won't stop. I say that you did a great job. You did it in portions and didn't go overboard. So what if you stumbled a little so not to hurt a friend. You won the test because you didn't go overboard and indulge. :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :cheer2:

What a fantastic testiment!! Loosing while on vacation is always difficult but it sounds like you found a winning formula. Plus, you have just about reached that 40 lb marker. Yippee!!! I am soooo excited for you and for your success. Way to go!!

Also, I am glad to hear that you had a great trip. We did too. I know you were going down as we were coming back. I look forward to hearing more about your trip. Are you planning on doing a trip report? I am almost finished with mine. I have three more days to add. Otherwise, keep up the great job. Your words are inspirational.

Teacher31 - Congratulations on the weight LOSS on your trip!  Your trip just sounds terrific. You obviously combined your delicious food with just the right amount of walking! I must follow your lead in October! Sounds like you're doing great!!!! You'll close in on that 40lb mark in no time!!

Bubba - I agree that you do need to allow yourself to cheat a bit, in order to prevent binging. That was my problem a few years ago. I never, ever cheated, so I finally snapped and well......it's an ugly story! ;) Today I had a few M&M's to satisfy my sweettooth (120 calories).

Your story about sabotagers is inspiring. How wonderful that some of your family/friends have done a 180 turn and are now asking you for advice, rather than sabotaging your efforts. They're very fortunate to have you in their lives. You're full of wisdom and encouragement!!

Totally off topic, but what did you think of Pop Century? We're staying there for the first time in October. Can't wait!! :cool1:

Today went well. I couldn't play tennis this time (dh's racquet is in rough shape), but we did yoga instead! I didn't expect it to be so difficult, but it sure was! It was nice to do something different.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend so far!!

HEY EVERYONE: Happy Saturday Evening! :) DH and I are doing so wonderful. Today we actually did 8100 steps and went to our local high school and jogged around the track. Man, it was nasty hot but we were there for an hour and we would walk 1/2 the track and jog 1/2 the track. We LOVED it  !! DH used to do that years ago when he was in better shape....so now we are going "back in time" to get DH in shape for his trip to Greece to see Mike. He was so proud of himself. He said he wanted to change things up a bit from our usual walk at the Town's walking track. This was GREAT! :thumbsup2 BUBBA: So funny, after I read your great info on the weights..I walked right out the door PAST the weights on the shelf and FORGOT THEM. When I got home, I PUT THEM in the car for TODAY. Well, DH and I got out of the car headed to the h.s. track and I forgot them AGAIN and this time they were actually IN the car...ooohh, man I am losing it!!! BUT tomorrow for sure.
BUBBA: Another ?, DH is so pumped for all this getting into shape and I could not be happier and remember when I first came on her I needed to drop at least 20lbs. WELL, I am down 5lbs BUT it has taken like 8 weeks BUT I can HONESTLY AND TOTALLY say I am definitely down those five lbs.!!! SO now the new weight loss is 15 lbs. YIPPEE SKIPPEE :cheer2: !!!! That ? you ask, should we be going EVERY SINGLE DAY...what is your opinion of w/o EVERY SINGLE DAY? I told DH we need to maybe take a break tomorrow and he said NO. Then I mentioned 30 minutes instead of the usual 60+ minutes and he said..."we will see?" I am afraid I will get hurt or overdo? NO? YES?
OH CJK: The BIG sabotage incident....YUP, I have one girlfriend who seems to think I AM HER EATING BUDDY. Remember when I went to the Cape a few weekends ago...I ate like I had NOT eaten in 3 years...because I was in her company and she just gives me so much grief about trying to lose weight. She is 5'4, weighs 190, hi cholestrol, hi blood pressure, acid reflux and has been like this since age 45yo and we are 52yo now. She told me she has decided she is NEVER dieting ever again and that this is THE weight she will have as between all her ailments and menopause her body JUST will not drop weight??????????WHATTTTTTTTT??????????????? So there I am at the CAPE on her nickle as it was a bday present to me from her and I just ate ate ate right along her and HATED MYSLEF all the while I did it.
CJK: Hang in there, be strong and simply say (like I didNOT do)..."NO THANKS, I am watching what I eat and I am feeling good about my losses and I do not want to go backwards"....hey, do as I say not as I do (I guess)!!!! I have learned that this is NOT happening ANYMORE. NOPE no more!!!!
Teacher31: Glad you are BACK!!! :Pinkbounc WOW O WOW!!! FABULOUS news about your WDW trip and a LOST as well. You must be so proud of yourself. Give yourself one huge pat on the back!!! AMAZING!!!! :thumbsup2 40 lbs and counting, Teacher :cheer2: :cheer2:
Well everyone: I HAVE to get to that TRIP BOARD. Bubba, I want to read your report and Lionqueens as well. Teacher will you be posting a trippie?

I added a few pics to my siggy. #1) DH on Castaway Cay #2) my 2 DS' in green and in the dark t is my nephew who is currently in Iraq #3) my son's WALLY (mascot from the red sox) at the Parthanon in Athens #4) DS and DGF #5) DS and DGF in WDW....(none of me :sad2: ) later after a weight loss!!!!!! Hope you enjoy them!!!!
Love you guys so much, love this Thread...started by our "FEARLESS LEADER"...man this is so awesome!!!!! SEE YA!!!!

Momrek - I loved the story about the weights. I can relate to that as I am always forgetting my workout gloves for the gym. I still do my workout but I just can't do as much weight. Now, you asked a VERY good question. Do we need to workout everyday? The answer is NO. If you go walking every single day, that is no longer a workout but a routine. That makes your body get use to the action. You have to give your body time to rest and recuperate. Even at my most dedicated moment, I will not do more than 5 days of exercise. Usually by that time, my body is so tired and sore that I can't do anymore. Now, that doesn't mean that I stay in bed all day by any means. I will still do stuff around the house, cut the grass or wash the car. I just won't do any weight lifting or ab work. You have worked all week. You have trained and stayed focus all week. Give yourself a much needed and deserved break. Don't let your focus become an obsession. That's when you can take it to an unhealthy level, like I did when I first started. Be smart and be safe.

MANY THANKS: BUBBA!!! :thumbsup2

Your advice is PRICELESS!!!! :goodvibes

Love the pic of you and DD! She is adorable princess: !!!

Dh just asked me what I was doing, and I said I was chatting with the "dieting for Disney" gang. I think he thought I was nuts! It's pretty amazing that I've only been on this thread for a couple weeks, but I feel like I know many of you already. If I don't get my daily fix, I don't know what I'll do for inspiration!!! Hope you're all having a great day!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great Monday. I had a real good day. Very busy at work and I still went to the gym and worked out my back and abs. I have a friend that I am trying to talk in to coming to the gym with me some time this week. He has been talking about coming with me for months and I think I have finally got him. Boy, is he in for a surprise. He will probably cuss me the next day. That is what my last four partners have done. Oh well. I am trying to put some size on now so it is go hard or go home. I am going to go as hard as my body will allow.

On another note, it has been a while since I have posted any kind of tip of the day. So , hopefully, you will find this interesting. We have talked about in the past certain foods or types of foods that you need to stay away from while dieting. We have said how processed foods are bad for you but just for the record that does include process meats. Hot dogs, spam, certain lunch meats and sausage are also bad for you. These all have sodium nitrate. Sodium nitrate is something that will and can cause cancer. So you want to take these foods out of your diet before they take you out.

Also, another so called "healthy food" would be canned soups. We all see these soups at the grocery store, Campbell's Healthy Request an Progresso, that say they are healthy but have you ever read the label. These canned soups will have up to 1,000 mg of salt. They are also loaded with hydrogenated fats (saturated fats). So, I guess what I am trying to say is don't believe all of the hype on a label saying something is healthy. Read more closely to the ingredients to make sure that it is before buying it.

Hope these tips help. Just to let you know. Since I have been back, I have been trying to add more size back to my frame. I have a goal of getting to 190 pounds and be solid. I think that would be the perfect weight for my size build and frame. Right now, I am up to 194 pounds but I still need to lose bodyfat but my situation is you can't put on muscle without putting on a little fat but I will try to keep it to a minimum.

Hello everyone, I'm baacckk!!!

Teacher...So glad to hear from you...INCREDIBLE news on your weight loss!! That is absolutely FANTASTIC :yay: :yay: ..very jealous BTW ;) That is truly awesome! Seems like your body has figured out how to maintain it's weight which is too cool..welcome back!
:teeth:
Momrek..Your story is truly inspirational! It sounds like you are doing everything perfectly and DH is catching on. :thumbsup2 I have also begun cutting up fruits at night for the next day, and portioning chicken & turkey for the next day. Great new pics..LOVE them..thanks for posting and giving me a boost..as always!!

CJK..you are quickly becoming a true inspiration to me as well as I'm sure many others on this thread. Your determination and will power is catching! I get excited and motivated just reading your posts..keep up the great work and keep us posted!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Bubba..Great new pic of you and DD..Poly right?? Anyway, as always you push and motivate me more than you could ever know. I didn't think steroids were as prevelant as they obviously are, but you know better than the rest of us how stupid it is to take them..so I'll not comment on that. You are SO LUCKy to have kept your weight the same..AWESOME!! I'm sure you're glad now that all that hard work has finally earned some just and most welcome rewards..great job!! Keep up the great work!! :woohoo:

As far as me, my nightmare eating week is FINALLY over! popcorn:: Actually, I didn't do that bad and didn't gain a single pound :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: We had family get togethers practically every night, then my son's birthday (sadly, my little icon is now 5 instead of 4  ) then another birthday, then a BBQ :sad2: ! I did eat things I normally would avoid, but was AVID about portion and not eating late...pats self of back. I started working out today (not yesterday as planned) and it FEELS GREAT :yay: !! My muscles feel like they've been on bed rest for a year. Funny how you can slip so quickly if you miss strength training for awhile..but it still felt good. Did a full 90 minute workout with 70 mins of cardio and all was well. I also started swimming again today and will continue 2X per week for the next 6 weeks. Wish me luck ya'll, it's been awhile.

I am going to Las Vegas Aug.7-10 for a "girls only" trip, can't wait!! :dance3: This is also the most current inspiration to lose some weight. I am shooting for 5lbs before then, let's hope for the best!! All the husbands are gonna sit around, play cards and watch sports while were gone..they love it too :cool1:

Hope everyone has a great week and keep up the good work!! Take care

Would all of you consider moving in with me whenever I start slacking??? :teeth: You're all so inspiring and encouraging! My only regret is not finding this board months ago!!!! Better late than never I guess. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of you! :goodvibes

Hey eveyrone!

I've been MIA, one of my best friends from years and years ago called out of the blue and then came to visit. We're both military kids, I'm an army brat and she's a navy brat, we used to live across the street from each other. She's married and lives with her kiwi hubby in New Zealand, she was in Florida with her parents and decided she was going to bring the kids up to visit since we've never seen each other's children. We had a great two days. My DD misses her kids a bunch.

I'm finally back at the gym after 5 days off because of the visit and other things we needed to do. We went to the pool last night as a family. Tonight I drop my DD off at the kid care facility while I go to yoga class. I'm a little nervous, it'll be the first time she's been with someone other than family watching her, I realize it's only for an hour but I hope she does okay. I did manage to get her scheduled in through next Monday. I had been having a hard time getting her in last week so I missed a couple of classes that I wanted to take.

I'm finally off my plateau as well. After that great 8 pounds in the beginning, 2 of them came right back, water weight, and I got rid of them again (this time for good) and am finally down another pound. I'm pretty excited!

I've been going through my apartment like a house on fire trying to get rid of all the extra junk we've got. One of my girlfriends issued a challenge for the month of July so I'm trying to keep up with it. I'm hoping to work on the garage this weekend so that we can get it together and get our storage place empty as well.

I'll be back to check in later today. I've got to get a few more things done before the small person goes down for a nap. I'm not going to nap with her today since I'm trying to catch the mailman today. I'm hoping her nap will let me catch up on the laundry folding and getting her stuff away in her room. Then I'll tackle the rest of it between going to the gym and going to bed.

It's been really strange being able to change so much of my life without feeling very overwhelmed.

Last night I took my b/p and was very happy to find that I was 105/68 which is a really nice pressure for me. Way down from just a few short weeks ago. I'm almost looking forward to getting my cholesterol checked again to see what I've been able to do with just the changes I've made so far.

O2bacelt - Welcome back. It is great to here from you and to hear about what is really a 3 pound loss. That is tremendous! :thumbsup2 It is always great to get with a long, lost friend . I have one that I haven't seen in about 10 years myself. We keep talking about getting together but then something happens and it falls through. Just keep at the diet! You know what to do. Now all you have to do is remain focus and you will succeed. You are doing great!

CJK - I love the line about wanting us to move in to encourage and motivate you when it is needed. :rotfl: That's a good one. But it made me think. Motivation comes from within. You are already motivated or else you would have never found this thread or looked for suggestions or help with a diet. Now, the encouragement is something that comes from other sources. It can come from a person or reaching a goal or some sort of pampering. Sure, we can encourage you when you are down and you will encourage yourself when you see the results and that will all increase your motivation. I know for me it is saying that I went from 35% bodyfat to around 15%. I went from a 38" waist to a 32". I went from benching 100 pounds to have been able to do 315 pounds. What motivates you outside of this thread? Focus on that. As the saying goes, "Keep Your Eyes on the Prize." What is your prize? Is it a thinner you? A healthier you? Or, for someone like my DW, being able to go to WDW without getting so worn out so easily? I hope this makes sense. Just think, if someone thinks that they can only get motivation from another person, what happens when you can't communicate with that person. Say your power goes out or your internet connection will not connect, do we loose our motivation? No. We stay focused and carry on so we can report something wonderful when we can talk to that person or group again.

Now, with saying that, everyone here knows that this thread and everyone here are a major part of my life. I dearly love the interactions that we have shared and will continue sharing for as long as you all decide to keep it going. But I would be doing you a disservice if I made anyone think that this is the only way to get motivated. I am so proud of everyone of you and as we have said before, I would love for us to take our vacations at the same time so we could have a Dieting for Disney face to face meeting in Disney. What would be more appropriate? I would love to be able to show you how proud of all of you I am. Words are just words and actions always speak louder than words. Here is a :cheer2: and a :grouphug: for all of you wishing you a fantastic week.

Hi all,
It's been awhile. Things have been going well. Hubby is gone for the summer doing the tour director thing, so it's me and the kids. I'm down to my last 10 pounds to lose. I suppose they will be the hardest. One bummer is that I injured my back (my son left a magazine on the basement stairs, and I took a good tumble.) The good news is I "will" heal, but the step classes at the club are out for about 6 weeks. In the meantime, I'm doing some walking videos at home, watching what I eat and making good choices ("most" of the time) and being happy. I'm having a good time with my kids. A good attitude is so important, I think. Bubba, glad to hear you had such a good trip! Thanks for all your encouragement.
Deb

Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well.

Bestmom....so good to hear from you!! I am so jealous that you only have 10 pounds to lose, but so happy for you too!! The last 10 is hard to lose (I've heard..never been that close to my goal :) but with your determination and strength, I'm sure you'll have it gone in no time. Sorry to hear that you hurt your back, that can sure put a damper on things, but keep your tremendous spirit up, and you'll do great!!

o2bacelt..Great news!! I'm with you, I've had a crazy week and am finally back on track. I'm glad you lost the weight you gained back. I have to post this once again though, the scale is a no good liar :lmao: I weighed myself just to get a starting point this week, but will not weigh myself again for at least 2 weeks. Your body changes so much, and depending on the time of the day, along with about a thousand other variables, it can really screw up your determination, will and desire. I weighed myself every day and it really did a number on me. Since I've stayed off it, I've done WAY better. Just my personal experience. Anyway, AWESOME!! I am so happy for you on your loss, I am currently plateauing (sp?) but at least I didn't gain :woohoo: Great job on the BP and cholesterol checks..keep it up! You know you're doing well when you're looking forward to them :thumbsup2

CJK..glad you're here and still with us! As long as you have determination (and a little DISboard support group :goodvibes ) you're on your way..great to hear from you.

Bubba..your trip report is GREAT!! Love reading it and seeing the pics of your family, how blessed you are. Having your posts of advice and encouragement have changed me in so many ways, thank you so much!!!

Count me in as officially "on the wagon". Ain't no stoppin' me now, I'm on the move!! I really am! I've been so busy and not focusing on my exercise and diet as much as I should have, but those days are over! TheLionQueen, exercising machine is back!! I'm just as motivated as I was back in January and can now see myself much smaller than I am now. I felt so good in my skin that somehow I thought I could just not focus on it as much, how wrong is that? I need to make exercise & diet my priority and have done so now, and I feel energized.

A girl that I always see at the gym, also was out for over a week and came back today...too weird. I'm going to Vegas in about 3 weeks and we challenged each other to a goal...6lbs by Aug.7th. I can do it I know, and think how good I'll feel when I've lost it...YIPPEE

Oh well, enough about me, just wanted to share with my family (Dis family that is) how WONDERFUL and INSPIRATIONAL you all are. You all are truly a HUGE reason why I've come this far, and am gonna keep on truckin..
thanks so much!!!

Hi. I guess I'm dieting for disney but for me as well.

I wanted to do it for the last trip and the trip before that. But it all caught up with me. This time it will happen.

Last July I started the south beach diet and it worked for me. I lost 40 pounds. But I just kinda stopped. For the last 3 months I kinda just slipped away from it. But I'm back. This WISH area of the boards is so inspiring. Thanks to all of you who contributed your thoughts, plans, successes. It's gotten back to where I need to be. I'm 3 days into this and I need to stay focused. I'd like to lose another 40.

So a little about me.

I'm 35. Mom of 3. Wife to 1.

Been heavy most of my life. Run an in home day care. Not a lot of time for me. Over the past year, I've learned to make some time for me though. My kids are 9, 8 and 2. My husband tends to travel alot. So, when he's gone, it's crazy for me.

Since we started taking the kids to disney in 03, we are hooked. We just love it.

We are going at christmas time this year. I have my heart set on taking a family photo all dressed up to use for the holiday cards and such. I'd love to get a matching outfit for me and my daughter, the 2 year old. She is just the biggest cuttie and photographs incredibly well. We don't have many pictures together and I'd like for that to change. There are always so many cute things like that in the disney catalogs. Just once I'd like to get something like that for us. So, that's a goal I'm trying to reach.

Hope to find support here. Hope I can give it in return. If you've read this thanks.

Monica

It's nice to meet you monymony!! This is the best place to be for support and encouragement with a little bit of fun thrown in! Best wishes to you, and keep posting! :sunny:

Thanks for posting everyone. I haven't been here for a couple of days to post, but I have been lurking when I've had the chance. The last couple of days have been really busy with company (again!!!), so I've not had as much time to post. I've done fairly well with my eating, despite having company. I had a healthy main course and a small serving of dessert. Then, we went for a walk after dinner. I'm getting into that routine now.

I measured again today, and am down almost 2inches this week (b/w my hips, thigh and waist). That was a nice surprise - especially the day after having company!! Today I was supposed to have lunch with friends, but plans changed so that we're going walking instead! I couldn't be happier about it!! Most of my socializing seems to revolve around food so this is a wonderful change!

I'm soooo excited to be slimmer and stronger for Disney this year. I don't want to have the achy body that I usually get after a long day of walking. I just love this newfound energy.

I just love reading everyones posts and discovering how you're all doing. We're quite the group here aren't we? I often find threads where people are fighting/arguing.......but not here. It's so refreshing having people helping and supporting each other. I never want to leave! :goodvibes You just may be stuck with me! :p

Hey everyone! I hope we have all had a great week with keeping our motivation at the fore-front(?) I know I haven't posted in a couple of days either. Yesterday at work, I stayed going for 17 hours and then today, I wasn't even supposed to work today but we had all of the Store Managers from the District at my store and I was supposed to show them some stuff so I had to be there. I was there for about 10 hours today. Needless to say, with my current work schedule, I haven't been able to get to the gym. Actually, there is so much going on, I am just now eating a real meal for the first time today. But, I also haven't been able to get to the gym because of some sort of knee injury. Haven't figured out exactly what I have done to it but everytime I stand up from a seated position, my knee feels like it is going to buckle on me. It's got me a little worried right now.

Monymony - Welcome :welcome: to our little group. I hope that you find the support that you need and any advice that you may crave. We have got a great bunch of people here. Honestly, I can't put it that way. We have got a great family here. The group here is what we always "wish" our family and friends were like. I haven't seen one negative comment since I started this thread. The other great part is who have a group here that is trying to accomplish the same thing as you, have the same goals as you and actually has the same love as you (Disney). I also have to admit that I am very jealous of you. I have always wanted to do a Disney vacation during Christmas. To see the Osbourne Lights would be amazing. Anyway, feel free to post any questions, trials or successes. We are here for you.

Blestmom - It is great to hear from you. I had noticed that you hadn't posted in a while and I was getting worried about you. I am sorry to hear about your hip. I guess my worry was validated. Also, congratulations on being down to your last 10. These are always the hardest to loose but it is still obtainable. There are several things you can do to really try to focus on those last few. The most important (when your healthy enough) increase your intensity on your cardio and training. Eat more vegetables and drink more water. But of course, don't hurt yourself. Once you are injured (like now) you won't be able to continue. Good luck with your progress and I know I speak for everyone here when I say that we are all extremely proud of you.

Lionqueen - "The workout machine is back!" :woohoo: With your intensity and extreme determination, I know you will not only succeed but surprise yourself. You are a really great person with a wonderful soul. (Can tell that just by the messages we have shared here.) Even through all of your trials, you have still remained committed. I just wish I could go to Vegas with you.

CJK - 2 inches in one week. :woohoo: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:  That's great. You have been very strong and determined ever since you first joined with us. I have to watch myself or else everyone will start calling you FEARLESS LEADER. That's ok. I have always said that there isn't just one leader here on this site. We are all leaders. We are all winners. Why? Because we are trying to focus on what a lot of people on this planet don't think is important. You can call it your health. You can also call it "the expanding waistline". But we are part of the few that are trying to take a stand and make a difference. Keep up the fantastic job that you do!!
