Diet Dilemma?! Drinking advice needed!

Gin and Fresca work the best for me! I only do 1/2 shots though per drink so I drink the same amount *ounce wise* as I normally would but feel like I am drinking twice as much! :thumbsup2

A 4 oz glass Red Wine = 100 cals - There is nothing wrong with having a drink once in awhile on a diet just do not over indulge - strive for moderation. Also make sure to drink plenty of water -:) Enjoy

Club soda is a good mixer. Plain unflavored vodka, soda and a squeeze of lime is low caloric and tasty.

Club soda is high in sodium though. Unflavored seltzer is usually sodium free and will give the same effect.

I drink Bloody Mary made with V-8 juice or the Michelob ultra or whatever it's called. It's the Mich low cal/low carb beer

I just hope you are saying you drink Bloody Marys made with V-8, or you drink Michelob Ultra. Because if you are saying you make your Bloody Marys with either V-8 or Michelob, that's just nasty :drinking1

Vodka and a citrus flavored diet drink...

Malibu Rum and Diet Coke...

I tend to cut my calories elsewhere if I plan on having a drink that day, though. I'd rather have one really good margarita and enjoy it than suffer through a beverage I didn't like just so I could have some alcohol.

Or, I give myself a "cheat day" or a "cheat meal" every week.

Alcohol makes you retain water, so try to choose low sodium. :thumbsup2

1 cup of black coffee and a shot of Irish whiskey.
None of that sissy Baileys Irish Creme...........:rotfl2:

No, I consider them two different drinks BUT I did see someone who would drink his beer with clamato juice. I wasn't brave enough to try but he swears it's a fantastic drink

I like several diet friendly drinks that might be your taste:

Diet ginger ale and pear vodka
Diet Dr. Pepper and Sloli Blueberry (surprisingly good!)
Diet ginger ale and rye whiskey
Green tea and citrus vodka (sugar substitute if needed, but I prefer without)
Diet orange soda and vanilla vodka
Diet Root Beer and vanilla vodka
Mojito made with sugar substitute

Each one is pretty low carb/low calorie, but stick with one or two and you should be OK. Some people like beer (or light beer) because it's very filling, but since I'm on a low carb diet, it's like drinking bread and a no-no for me. I would avoid most things made with juices, except for the v8 Bloody Mary since it's pretty low cal and will provide some "food" with your drink. :drinking1

Enjoy!

Not true. Alcohol is actually a diuretic... but the low sodium advice is good for those who have a a problem with hypertension and other ailments.

Can any one give me advice on where to eat and what to eat. I am a new WW member and have not had the pleasure of trying this new lifestyle out at Disney. Going 10/4-10/7 and have not made any ADR. Any suggestions??

Just beware if mixing diet sodas with alcohol...the body metabolizes the alcohol differently when there's artificial sweetners involved, so you will get drunker, faster! Sorry if someone else posted this already...I don't generally drink, but have lots of friends who were pretty darn hungover after mixing diet soda and alcohol!!

Well that only makes for an inexpensive night out :rotfl:

I always drink diet coke with vodka/malibu/bicardi/JD (50 calories a go!) and I don't find I get drunk particularly quickly.

I get very drunk very quickly on the shots, though...
