Did Your Mother Have This?

My eldest sister got a set of luggage from my parents for her HS graduation, a Marine-blue *round* pullman American Tourister Tiara suitcase with a matching train case. She used them for at least 25 years. The next sister got the same size set (but regular rectangle pullman) but hers was in black/white houndstooth. She still keeps jewelry in her b/w train case. (I didn't get a luggage set of my own; my Mom just gave me hers at that point & it wasn't nearly as nice. Maybe that's why I have a thing about buying luggage; I almost collect it.)

Mom had one and so did I:)
Mine was a medium blue with the mirror and frilly decoration. I used it for makeup and hair brushes, etc. It was so sturdy and big enough to fit all that stuff in. I wish I had one today to use. It was really handy and small enough to carry easily.

I had a white Samsonite one, and honestly I wish they still made them. It was a really good size as a small extra suitcase for a weekend car trip. I liked the tray insert to keep things separate.
Different times....

Yes. Still have it and use it on our Disney trips.

I bought it nearly 60 years ago along with a hatbox suitcase and a midsized rectangular one.

My mom said buying good luggage was a lifetime's investment. She was right. It's all perfectly usable, hardly shows its age at all (other than being obviously "vintage") and goes to WDW most trips.

I had one. Got it for my high school graduation in 1971. Until about 15 years ago, continued to use the train case for sun screen, medicines, etc for DH, DS, DD, and myself, when we vacationed.

This is exactly what I had (with different initials.)

Mine was like yours. It was black with a red plaid on the top. I think I was about 12 when I got it. We never traveled as I was growing up, so it really never got used. But it’s still sitting in my closet. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Nope. My mom was a surgical nurse so wasn't allowed to wear makeup at work. And I only remember putting lipstick on for church on Sunday.

My mom had one that matched her luggage set, which was a beige/cream marbleized color. I got a Samsonite train case in hot pink when I was 12 or 13. Then I got a whole set of Samsonite luggage in navy blue with a matching train case when I graduated from college in 1988. The train cases were never big enough to hold all my toiletries.

This looks a lot like the luggage my mom had, but hers were a darker blue. I know I still have the larger suitcase, and maybe the make up case. She used them until around 2007.
