Hello Campers. Wondering when I should start looking to book end of April- beginning of May 2027. I’ve learned the hard way booking dates can sneak up on you.

Also- to those of you who stayed in the Full Hookup sites - are they nice? We’ve only stayed in premium because of trailer length and location. We will be staying for a lengthier stay so we are considering cost.

Is that time of year bearable for camping. If the power went out could you survive🥵? I wish we could go earlier but we will be traveling from an area that can get snow in April. We once pulled our trailer from Denver to FW at the end of Oct and pushed it to sty head of a snow storm 🌨️

I can’t help you with the campsite, but maybe the weather . . .

We usually don’t have any cold weather after March. The last two weeks of April this year were highs 85-90 and lows 65-70. Historical averages are 86-64. First two weeks of May were a degree or two higher. Humidity is usually still low that time of year (normally the rainy season doesn’t kick in until June, which indicates a bump in humidity).

Disney is pretty good when it comes to power outages. I think the longest one I have experienced at a resort was 3-4 hours, and that was after a lightning hit. A lot of areas in Florida, including Disney, have buried electric lines, which helps tremendously. Even during hurricanes the resorts have not lost power long term.

Hopefully this will give you an idea what to expect.

Yes this was very helpful, thanks. 👍👍

Last year, the rates for 2025 (through October 2025 only) were dropped on April 22, 2024. The date has varied over the last several years but has generally been in the April-May time frame. Watch around March 2026 starting and also on the DIS Resorts forum. We usually get a heads-up from people in-the-know (or in the travel industry) a few days before they come out.

Late April and early May is a wonderful warm time. Here is a look at the Orlando hi/lows for April 2025 (and the first few days of May). It's not too rainy yet, generally speaking.

When rates opened up this year for 2026, I booked the first full week of May. I am looking forward to it.

Full sites are fine, a little further away from Bay Lake but nice. They are loops 1600-1900 and 2100. Personally (IMO) I like 1700 best (well spaced sites, walking distance to Meadow Pool area). 1600 next but not as well spaced. 1800 is not as well spaced as 1600 but does have a few campsites on the canal (think "waterfront property"). 1900 is my least favorite but if you want peace and quiet and back in the corner away from things, it's the loop for you. It is one of the wetter loops - sites stay dry in big rains but the space between the sites can hold water for a few days. It's wetlands area back in there. 2100 I stayed in back in October/November 2024 and it was fine. You can walk/bike past the Comfort Station into 1100 for a shortcut to the Meadow pool area.

Hope this helps! Bama Ed
