I beleive my dd4 meets the ht. requirement for Soarin', but I was just wandering if this ride is too intense for a child that age. She is pretty much not afraid of anything (except scary things like monsters, ghosts, witches, etc.). I know every child is different, but I would just like to hear others' experiences. Thanks!

I can't remember when Soarin came out, but my son loves it. He is very afraid of scary rides too, but Soarin is his absolute favorite. I say, go for it!

My son rode it and seemed okay, but then didn't want to ride it again. He's very sensitive to loud, starling noises (or startling sights, really - he doesn't like to have something jump out at him or unexpectedly loud noises) and the whole ride was very loud and one scene in particular was very loud and made you jump a little. Not scary, just unexpected and it startles you for a second. That was enough to make him never want to ride it again. When our whole family came in to Disney with us, we really needed him to ride it again and I was able to convince him to ride it by turning on a movie on my iPhone and letting him listen to that cranked up while he rode the ride. Having his own soundtrack made him feel better. My four year old niece rode it at the same time and thought it was great. My son probably won't ride it again any time soon though.

My 5 year old loved it! She rode the front row. And this when she was afraid of everything!.

My DD will be 4 next week and rode it for the first time in Sept. She loved it and still talks about flying over the snowy mountain. But she is a bit of a daredevil and has ridden everything she's tall enough for and hasn't found a ride too scary yet.

My DD rode it for the first time a couple months after she turned three...first row and LOVED IT (after test track its her favorite) She wanted to go on over and over...In fact we had to remind her not to yell out what was going on...like watch out for this or that.

Ava loved it even more when she was 4. She is a bit of a daredevil though.

My DS was 4 (almost 5) when he rode it last year and he loved it! He kept lifting his feet up because he thought they would get wet.

When DS5 was 4 years old rode it and it was his favorite ride. Front row everytime and he's by no stretch of the imagination brave.

DS is 4 and this is one of his favorites!! He has ridden it multiple times and really enjoys it. I will add that I am a big chicken and won't even go on Goofy's Barnstormer or any of the "Mountains" at WDW and I was fine on this ride. My stomach did drop when we were in the front row and rose to the top but I was fine after that. It is one of my favorites too!

DS4 is a big scaredy cat and has sensory issues. He absolutely loved Soarin, went on it twice, we tried to go on it when we went over for Illuminations but it was a 2 hour wait and no FPs:sad2: . He told both GPs how cool the ride was and if you ask him today what is favorite ride in WDW was he will tell you Soarin.

DD rode for the first time when she was 4 and 2 1/2 months. She loved it -- rode it 3 times.

DS(4) went on it a month ago. He loved it and felt very safe with DH and I on either side of him. He would put his feet up when he felt like they would "touch" the ground.

My DS rode Soarin' for the first time at 3. He is not an adventurous child and loved it. We went back at age 4 and he loved it just as much!

My kids both loved it as soon as they were able to ride it. We went the first week it Soarin' Over California opened at California Adventure (we lived in SoCal) and they wanted to go again and again.

This trip will be my 3 year old's first time so we will see how it goes.

Wow, this is a great thread for me because my girls are 4 and want nothing to do with Soarin' and I assumed all kids this age are too scared! So I think we'll give it a shot next time. We'll be going again next spring and my girls will be close to age 5. I will say they are scared of a lot of rides, including Pirates and Haunted Mansion, so I think it just may be their personalities or else a phase.

I'm so happy to hear lots of 4 year olds like Soarin. My dd is big enough now and I was thinking about taking her but was not sure if she would be scared or not. I think we will try it!

My DD was 4 when we went and she rode Soarin' and everything else she met the height requirement for, which was pretty much everything. There was one ride in Dinoland she couldn't ride. She loved them and was less scared then her DB who was 8.

Nope, he was too short!

My other ds has been on Soarin' from the time he was 5 and he was just fine. I'm a chicken, and it's fine for me.
