Actually the mermaid one makes me nauseous, and I don't think photos would show up very well. But that little chipboard albums is no better than our paper bag albums (and not as good as most of them!) and MarlynnP made me better than that for my SS swap! I'd better not let DH see - he's always saying we should sell my recipe swaps (and not just because I'm up to 4 volumes now )

Maybe I should put up the one I made - I'll keep the ones you girls made because they're better than mine and I couldn't part with them

This board is so calm... LOL. I used to belong to a scrapping board and there was a 10+ page a couple years back about some girl who sold torn paper bears on ebay for a ton of $$ and the thread got really ugly. I will never forget that!!

Clearly the seller is a talented artist. It is not to my liking as a scrapbook page, but I do marvel at the work and craftmanship. I do have to wonder though -- are these auctions real? I mean if you look at her feedback, there are buyers who have spent thousands of dollars on this!

Ok, so I know what my retirement days will be spent doing - and when I am rich and famous... oops too much dreaming!!

Both sellers do appear to be talented, but I am sure that we have just as much talent on these boards. Often times, those looking see the price being escalated and tend to jump in on the bidding action not really grasping what the quality of the work truly is. Who knows if the work is really worth it? Still feel that our individual creativity can not have a value placed on it!

Exactly! I did notice that the mermaid page is a charity auction with 10% of the final sale price going to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, so if it's gonna help them out it's even better. It's up over $1200 now, can you imagine how much stash you could buy for that amount???

The mermaids are to die for, but 1200 bucks! You gotta be kidding me! Besides the fact, what would you use the pages for? It is SOOO themed that it would really wash out the photos, or worse, the photos would look awful because the page is so detailed. Imagine your little girl dressed as Ariel for Halloween or something. The photos would just clash despite being the same theme.
