Did You See This Photo?

That's so sad. At first I looked and couldn't figure out what was so special about the photo (I'm a doofus sometimes!).

Then I saw all those chimpanzees in the background.:sad1:

Yes, I saw it yesterday on The Early Show. So sad. :(

I wonder if they understood at all.

I think the hardest part about death is not being able to explain it to an animal. It's just heartbreaking. We had two dogs who grew old together. When one of them died, the other dog looked around for weeks for her companion. It just broke my heart.

My MIL experienced something like that when my FIL died...the cat just yowled for weeks. So sad.

I hope they understood.

What a wonderful picture and how thoughtful of their "keepers" to allow the chimps a proper goodbye.

Mine did that too. I had a male dog that had to be put down two years ago. He was having a really hard time the last few days and my other dog would just lay by him as if she knew he wasn't going to be here much longer. She normally would jump on him, play with him, etc. After we had him put down, she sulked around and didn't really want to be bothered. Her own little mourning period.

that pic made me :sad1:
