Did you see the 10 day forecast? Who's leaving soon?

I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm going this month too. I have been watching the trends on TWC web site since half way through August. See it says has had a chance of precip just about everyday yet look at the actual rainfall so far this month. Although it has rain more than 50% of the days over the last month, over the last 30 days:

20 days of no rain :cool1:

0 days with over an inch of rain

2 days with over half an inch of rain

3 days of over a quarter inch of rain

Leaving 6 days of less than a quarter inch of rain. That's only enough to make the area more muggy.

Don't sweat it. The 10 day forcast is only showing 20 to 40% chance.

It looks like every other forecast for central Florida from June until October (except its a lot hotter in August)...although tonight's little storm was a bit of a goose drownder. But unless the chance of rain is 80% or higher I'm heading off to the beach. :drive:

I had posted this story a while back, but I will tell it briefly again.

Several years ago, in June 2000, we went to WDW from Calif. Florida had been in a drought. The first day that we were there it was beautiful. We did the Space Center that day. It then rained (major rain where they closed down the rides at the parks) for 7 days straight. We still went and did stuff. You have to. Buy a poncho and just enjoy what you can do. We drove to Tampa one day and tried Busch Gardens.........NOT. Same thing, rain and closed the rides. But we still got to see shows, see animals, and enjoy a vacation away from home and away from work and worries. On that trip the last day that we were there the sun came out again. Don't sweat it, there is nothing you can do about the weather. Just enjoy your time there.

We will be there in 21 days and I know that we will be in for the same, but oh well, what are ya gonna do? :confused3

It looks as thought the % chance of rain gets less and less the later in the month it gets. We are going on the 22nd, and it seems by then that the rain is down to 20% chance. Either way, when it rains on you - it's 100% !

Is anyone in WDW now
WE arrive tomorrow
How is the weather?
Does it rain everyday?
For how long?
Is it mostly in the afternoon or evening?
See you all soon

M.E.

In 48 hours...we will be on a plane from SC to Orlando, Florida! Woo-hoo! And, yes, it is just over an hour flight, but it sure beats driving in the car for at least 9 hours!! Totally worth every penny. :woohoo:

I just saw that there is another tropical depression out in the Atlantic....will hit sometime a week from now if it makes it to the coast. Maybe it will blow away the afternoon storms for a few days in the meantime. :thumbsup2

Like the other poster said....just take ponchos and don't worry. You might end up with a rainy day....but the parks are really not crowded on those days. Most of the rain chance you are seeing is for the pop-up afternoon thunderstorms that last less than an hour or two.

It's going to be fun. I just can't wait to get down there!!

Safe travels everyone :grouphug:

Where do I get a poncho for my 4yr old DD? Our dollar stores don't carry them at all (for adults even). Just want some cheapies.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I would not bother, couple of reasons have already been stated but my personal one,
We have been in a drought for almost the entire summer, not a drop of rain had come in over 3 weeks, the minute my daughters 4th birthday party fell into the forecast they began to predict rain that eening, then afternoon and evening, then morning afternnon and evening.. yes a prediction of scattered storms, wind and rain ALL DAY, well that was last week and the day was beautiful and perfect!!!
have a great time and ENJOY!!!!
:goodvibes

If the Dollar Tree or the Dollar General stores don't have them (usually you have to ask b/c they are up in the front near the registers and you can miss seeing them), Wal-mart carries some but they are not $1.00/2.

It seems like the Disney ponchos at the parks are $6, right?? Anyone remember? Well, for that price she can wear it at the park and have a cool souv. to wear the next time it rains back home. :)

48 hours and we will be at Disney! :mickeyjum Yikes....I still have too much stuff to do to get ready!

Get your poncho's at the dollar store, don't let the weather get you down. Enjoy your vacation.

:goodvibes We leave in 5 days and I'm not to worried about it raining. As long as it doesn't lightening and thunder then we'll be okay.:thumbsup2 I think it's kind of fun when it rains anyway b/c it's fun to watch people scurry like ants.:rotfl: I'm just happy to be going.
