Did you marry your high school sweetheart?

Ricky Martin was my high school sweetheart (in my mind). No I did not marry him. :rotfl:

I did
We met when we were 15
Had a long distance writng relationship
Got married at 20 and about to celebreate 28 years together

Nope! DH is 10 years older than me almost to the day! I am pretty sure that my Dad would have had him in jail(or buried 6 ft under:lmao: ) had his 15-16 year old daughter been dating a 25-26 year old man!

For the record, my Dad does adore my DH(son he never had). DH will occassionally make the comment that he wishes he would have known me back when I was in High school and I or Dad will tease him and remind him that he would have known me from behind bars!

Yep.

Started dating senior year...been together for 11 years, married for 5 (in 2 weeks), expecting the first addition very soon...love him more everyday...even when he washes laundry at the medium load without changing it...Agh! There is ALWAYS something else to wash for a full load! ;)

Luckily I had an earlier HSS that I did NOT marry...ack what a jerk, but it took me a LONG 2 years to realize it!

I didn't. My grandparents didn't either but they did get married when she was 15 and he was 20. They were married for 71 years, until his death. They always treated each other with respect and were so sweet to each other.

Nope! Neither HS or college. No steady boyfriends in HS, and thank goodness I didn't marry my college sweety. He's a real nice guy, but not someone I would want to spend my life with.

Met DH 2 years after college graduation- he did go to HS with one of my best college friends, though. She introduced us. We started dating in 1990, and will be married 18 years in September.

I wanted to add this because I think it is too cute.

My Dad married his HSS a couple years out of school. Unfortunately, things just didn't work out for them(way too many interferences and just immaturity) A few years later, they began dating again. It still wasn't the right time.

Dad married my Mom and they were married for 32 years until she passed away in 2005. Guess who my Dad is dating now? YUP! His HSS again. She lives in Fl and he lives here, but he goes down to visit her and she is possibly coming up here this summer. I don't see them ever really living together, but they both enjoy their unique relationship and it really works for them. It just makes me happy to see my Dad so happy and I think it is so cool to know that they go as far back as they do.

Yep I sure did! We started dating when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. Dated 10 yrs and got married in 1994. Will be married 15 yrs this year :goodvibes.

No I dated this guy through my junior and senior years of HS but we broke up after I graduated (he was a bit older). I married his cousin whom I met while going with ex boyfriend. We hooked up about a year after I had split with ex and have been married now for 33 years.

As far as ex boyfriend DHs cousin, he married three times and divorced three times and died about 14 years ago never succeeding at anything in his life :sad2:

I definitely married the better man....

I married the blind date for my senior prom. (We met 2 weeks before graduation.) We've been married 17 years. :thumbsup2

Yup. We met our junior year, thanks to alphabetical seating in homeroom. We went to different colleges and married right after graduation. We've been married 28 blissful years this month.

No (thank the good Lord) I did not.

I did marry the man I met my first year in college though.
Ditto (and thank God!) on both counts! Mom (86) will still say every so often (now 30 years later) "Thank God you didn't marry Mike." :)

YES!!! Our first date was in June of 1975 (junior year). We have been together ever since and we just celebrated our 28th year of marriage on 5/30/09. She is still the one.

I did and he's the man of my dreams!! Been together 24 years married 19. Have 2 wonderful daughters and a dog.

Well I was in highschool, he was not. :rolleyes1 We have a huge age gap. I was mature for my age and he was just finding himself, We have been married 17 years in Oct and been through some of the worst things imaginable. I can't believe what a good guy I picked at such a young age, I am indeed blessed, he has taken care of me in every sense of the word. A few weeks ago he heated the pool up and planned a date and downloaded music from our second honeymoon in Jamaica and I made and served pina coladas. The kids were at school and we just enjoyed each others company. It was all very romantic that he put that much thought into it after all these years. If I told you some of the stuff I had put him through you would wonder why he is still with me. But I picked a keeper and wake up everyday happy to see him and wait up almost every night for him to get home.

Yes I did, just like the OP. I was finishing my freshman year, he was finishing his sophomore year. We dated until I was 22 and then got married. Have been married for 27 years!!!

Sort of, but he graduated years before me, if that counts :lmao:. Met my senior year, took me to senior prom, the best was yet to come and has lasted 45 years!! :worship:

He was my high school sweetheart. I was 16 and he was 20 when we started dating. We will celebrate 31 years on Wednesday!
