....... that some of the quarters have one of the states stamped on the back of them.
My son noticed this during our trip in 2008 and has been trying to collect them all ever since. He has done quite well and is only 5 or so away from a full set.
I just thought I would mention it in case any of you have kids that might like to keep an eye out and see how many they can get.

mine have collected them for years! Infact you can buy a special folder/booklet thing to put them in!!

We have seen these on Ebay and will probably get him one when he has the full set. We will probably have to look for a good cleaning solution as well.

Which ones does he still need, Kenny - I'm sure we could come up with them between us. Or does that sort of defeat the object? Is half the fun finding them himself? Does he also press them, or collect them as they are?

I think some of the states are yet to be released as they are being released in the order they joined the US.

Claire ;)

Just checked and the last quarter was issued on November 3rd last year :)

I will ask him when I skype him tonight thanks Deb.

He was lucky enough to have some brought over for him by DizneeMad which helpled his collection a bit - but it is finding the last few that is proving the hardest.

I don't mind helping out Kenny,we go April 1st-let me know.x.

My husband started collection them many years ago after a friend asked us to get some for his collection.

He was so facinated by his collection that he now has the folder for himself to put them in, but you should be aware that if you go that way you have to collect 2 for each state. They issue some with a small D on and some with a small P.

They go back to the 1990's so we still have some gaps and check our change whenever we go against the list of outstanding ones we need. Difficult to see difference between D and P so have to use a magnifing glass now due to failing eyesight (age).

They have all been relised mum has been collecting them for 10 years they brought 5 out every year (for the last 10 years) last year I went with DFi and managed to get all but 1 hawaii mum and dad went after and still couldnt get hawaii so all she needed was the one quarter to get hold off dad had to buy it on ebay for her for xmas she now has them all and we now dont have a reason to go back lol

i didnt know that we have a reason to go back now YAY

Thanks for the offers folks
As soon as I get a list off DS I will post it on here. Like I said there only a few left - although I don't know which set they are in and have never looked.
Apparently the D and P are to do with the mint that they are from - but I don't know for sure.

Hello all,
I am in the states, Michigan, not Florida :sad1: , however I am happy to look for items for you if you wish (coins or anything else) and ship them to you. My daughter loves "money" from other countries and cares not a wit if it has any value. She is always very excited when any of our friends bring back local items for her from their abroad trips. This might be a way I can return the favor, passing on the smiles. DD is eleven so if the item you are seeking is for a child in the same age group I will have DD send it along with a note. In other words, letting her share the smiles and perhaps gaining a new friend in the process. ;)
If the item you want cost little to ship I will send it with a smile, if it costs a lot, I will let you know so you can make the decision of if you want it or not.

That sounds a lot of fun. My DS is 14, and it is he that is collecting the coins, but DD is 10 and I know she would be happy to have a penpal - or even an email pal.
I am currently in Qatar, and previously lived in Kuwait. I have plenty of that currency if your daughter is interested. If you PM an email address we can arrange getting them posted to you.
Thank you for the offer.

I doubt that they will be all out yet but I will be looking out for them for me and your DS.
