For the FREE Birthday Entrance to Disney Parks

Register yourself—and your children too, if you want.
Print the reminder email with its confirmation message that you will receive 2 weeks prior to your birthday to redeem free admission on your birthday in 2009.
Bring proper ID and your confirmation message to the Main Entrance ticket booths outside the Disneyland® Resort Theme Parks.

No, because you don't have to register.
This is explained in the FAQ of the post I put up several days ago .... titled something like "Free Birthday admission intro, FAQ .."

I just received an email stating that I Must Register myself—and my children to get the One Special email I Must present at the gate to get in.

If I believe that you don't have to register, however, by doing so, you'll save time at the gates.

Here's what it says on the page:

Register yourself—and your children too, if you want.
Print the reminder email with its confirmation message that you will receive 2 weeks prior to your birthday to redeem free admission on your birthday in 2009.

Q: What are you going to do with my birthday information?

A: The information we are collecting will be used to expedite the process of validating your date of birth once you arrive at the Main Entrance ticket booth with valid ID.

So

if you want your children too.

Many people would not use there childs info online.

You will need the email for ID

Is this the AP thing? I have a Premium so I wanted the gift card...any info on that?

I think you have to register but you can either register online ahead of time or you can register when you get there. At least that was my understanding of it.

I thought you still had to bring ID for your kids.... an identification card if old enough, passport, birth certificate, or certified copy of the birth certificate. I could have sworn that I read that somewhere. :confused3

I read this somewhere too.

I just registered, thanks. By the way I am new here...HI everyone!!!

Welcome Mousefit! :yay:  :yay:

ALSO for this promo if you are an annual pass holder, or you hold a valid park hopper ticket on your birthday, you can recieve a gift card to the Disneyland resort worth a park entry ticket.

I just discovered that the map updates where they will be as the date get closer!!

From the registration screen:

If you're aged 18 or older, valid ID would be either a Government-issued Driver's License, a Government-issued photo ID or a Government-issued Passport.
If you are under age 18, and don't have any of the abovementioned types of ID, an original Birth Certificate or a notarized copy of a Birth Certificate is required.

Q: What kind of identification do I need to show at the ticket booth?

A: If you're age 18 or older, valid date of birth identification includes: Government-issued Passport, Driver's License, Government-issued Photo ID or Birth Certificate. If you are under age 18 and don't have any of the abovementioned ID, an original birth certificate or a notarized copy of a birth certificate is required.

Thats under the FAQ...

This is sort of a strange thread. Maybe it's just me. :)

I noticed that the DLR info is mainly the same, but a bit less info, than WDW.

WDW's info states:

# Register your birthday—and other household members' birthdays too, if you want.
# Print the confirmation message you receive after registering your birthday.
# You will also receive an email reminder two weeks prior to your birthday, which you can also use to redeem your free admission on your birthday.
# Bring proper ID and your confirmation message to the gate at one of the Theme Parks at the Walt Disney World® Resort or Disneyland® Resort on your birthday in 2009.

But their FAQs go on to state CLEARLY:

Q: Do I need to register online prior to going to Walt Disney World® Resort to receive free admission on my birthday?

A: As long as you have the appropriate ID and proof of your date of birth, you can take advantage of this birthday offer at the gate. The reason for registering your birthday online is to save you time. You won't have to wait while you fill out the forms at the gate.

Ooh ooh ooh, the DLR page states:

Q: What are you going to do with my birthday information?

A: The information we are collecting will be used to expedite the process of validating your date of birth once you arrive at the Main Entrance ticket booth with valid ID.

Which sounds to me like you do NOT have to pre-register, but it is used to make things faster when you get to the gate.

We're not registering yet b/c frankly we don't know if it'll be DLR or WDW, and the info says "or", and I'm not willing to waste time if I guess wrong. I'll register (to save time) later. :upsidedow
