Did you Have a Honeymoon? Where and details...?

25 Years ago, Bermuda at the Sonesta Beach Report. Details are ...... Sorry this is a Kid Friendly Site.

We had a three week honeymoon in Florida, spent two weeks in Orlando at the Grosvenor and then a week at the Tradewinds Island Grande on St Pete Beach. This was DH's first trip to the US and has been hooked ever since :teeth: I had been to the US 6 times before that.

1st marriage - honeymoon in Disneyworld staying at the Contemporary
2nd marriage - honeymoon in Niagara Falls
3rd marriage - honeymoon in Disneyland Paris and a castle in the Loire Valley in France

This last one's a keeper!

Our honeymoon was our cross country drive from VA to WA to Dh's new duty station. It was about a month after we got married, Dh had to finish his school in VA and then we took off. We saw some cool stuff, Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone and made it in 7 days.

Las Brisas, Acapulco.

We had our own private casita on the cliff/mountain overlooking the ocean with private pool.

I am dying to know if it's still as great as it was back then (82).

Married 11 years. We flew to Las Vegas, because my parents had gone there for their honeymoon, and then onto Disneyland. 9 days. paid for by the Bachelor party my dad threw for my hubby! It was awesome!

Honeymoon in Vegas baby! Got upgraded when we arrived to a corner suite at the Luxor! Ah the days of adult fun at any time of the day sans the kiddie! :lmao:

one week in Kauai and one week in Maui
loved it and am planning our 4th trip back for next feb!

We went snow skiing in the Lake Tahoe area for a week. Oh, how romantic. :lmao: Our oldest son honeymooned in Fiji and the middle son in Jamaica. The third one is engaged now and says he'll honeymoon anywhere except WDW.

No, never had a honeymoon and my DH has never lived it down after almost 11 years!

You see, my in-laws paid for 7 nights at WDW at the Wilderness Lodge, tickets, food and even offered up a credit card for spending money. Well, a week before the wedding, my DH sunk his boat (by backing the boat (an outboard) into the dock). The outboard got caught under the dock at high tide and sunk the boat. Well, what does he do, he calls his mom and dad and asks if they can cancel the WDW trip and just give him the money to pay for unsinking the boat and the repairs for the boat. They did!

Sure enough, a month later, he went diving with some of his friends and left the bilge pump on after docking the boat. We went out the next day and it was sunk again. All I could do was glare at him.

Needless to say, we didn’t get to go to WDW until several years later when DD was 3. That was the longest I had ever been without a trip to WDW since I was 10!

It’s okay, he is redeeming himself slowly! He buys us AP’s every year and we go down about twice a year, usually at AKL! Now, to fully redeem himself he just needs to purchase DVC at AKV! I will forget all about not ever having a honeymoon then!

we had a fortnight in goa india.it was a real culture shock, when we first arrived, but it is one place,i would like to return to.
mind you,we went in 1998 & i believe,it has changed since then,with the introduction of pizza hut,mcdonalds etc.is this change,for the better,i'm not sure:confused3

Yes. It was very important to both of us to have a honeymoon and we left immediately after the reception. (We hadn't lived together etc. so were quite anxious!) DH had never been on a vacation and couldn't imagine a week at the beach. (He thought I was going to make him go shopping - it took him years to understand how much I hate shopping!) We ended up deciding on WDW and the Big Red Boat (this was prior to DCL.) It was WONDERFUL!

We just got back from a vacation without the kids and it was definitely nice to spend time just the two of us - but it in no way compared to our honeymoon! After 18 years both of us laughed when we called it a second honeymoon. It's pretty much impossible to recapture the thrill of the original honeymoon!

We took a 3 week honeymoon. One week in a town house in Puerto Rico, one week on a RCCL cruise, and the last week in Puerto Rico. Back then I felt it was a week too long. Ask me again now and I'd see if I could add another week.:lmao:

Yep.

We got married on a Saturday, morning church & early afternoon reception since I wanted a good night sleep for our all day plane flight from Hartford to Honolulu.

We spent 2 weeks in Hawaii-Oahu, Kauai, Big Island & the last week in Maui.

I remember it like it was yesterday but it was 9 years ago.

When we got married, you needed a blood test(and possibly a physical, I can't remember) to get a marriage license in PA(they discontinued that requirement a few months after we got our marriage license). So, off to MD we went. Got married at the Talbot Co courthouse and spent the next 4 days in St. Michaels, MD.

Our "official" honeymoon was a couple months later, an off site trip to WDW. First trip to Disney for DH, and it turned out he loved it as much as me.:goodvibes

Yes. We went to work the Monday after our wedding, worked until Friday, woke up, picked a place, hopped in the car and started driving.

We ended up taking a road trip to WDW, we also did Seaworld and Dsicovery Cove, and then followed up with Tampa and Redington Beach.

I thought it was going to suck but it ended up being awesome, and spurring the purchase of dvc because now we can't get enough of wdw.

WOW, I so so jealous of all of your trips!

Thank you so much for sharing, what wonderful memories we all have.

Our honeymoon was spent at a cabin where I cooked and cleaned all week. He thought it was great. I kept asking when were we going out for dinner? Never did. I kept saying that the 25th was mine. On our 23 I reminded him of it and told him I want to cruise. He really didn't want to but said okay, but seem to put a lot of blocks up. Finally got him to decide on which one. It ended up being great. We were gone almost 3 weeks total. We cruised from Vancouver to Hawaii and around the islands. We had a short stay in Vancouver before the cruise and a stay in Oahu after the cruise. He complained the whole way to the ship. On the second day of the cruise he came back to the cabin to get me (I had a nap) and tell me that there were a lot of other cruises that maybe we could take. He loves to cruise now.
