Did you ever FIND ANYTHING.... where you weren't expecting anything?

Found 50 bucks laying in the street once. I'm sure that will never happen again. ;)

Funny how so many people are finding drugs.

perhaps the users hide their stash while high and then can't remember where they put it..

Ok, this didn't happen to me but to my husband's co-worker. He was vacationing in Mexico and in his hotel room he found a bag FULL of money. It was tapen under the lamp, so they previous guy was hiding it for some reason. Anyway, he pocketed it and then the guy came back to the hotel and called his room to ask about the money. My husband's co-worker pretended to look under the lamp and told the guy it wasn't there. Then they guy came up to the room but my husban'ds co-worker didn't answer the door and he called the front desk to get security.

When my family were at Port Orleans French Quarter, I was checking in and my husband was sitting on a couch by the tv, he found a money clip with $500 bucks in it. He ran out looking for someone but we ended up keeping the clip and the money.

Does that make us bad? It made our whole vacation just a little sweeter.

I was walking through the guest parking lot for my community and I saw a little folded up envelope, made from a magazine page. I laughed as I walked by thinking, "I haven't seen one of those since the 80's!" I decided to turn around and pick it up. Sure enough, it was packed with white powdery stuff. The police came out, said it was a little over a gram and that someone must be bummed. I think I've mentioned our fine local police force before.

Grocery shopping one night I decided to be good and retun my cart to the cart stand and I found $5. See it does pay to return your cart ;)

I found a huge bag of marijuana and a day planner on my garage roof once. Supposedly, someone was running from the police and tossed them up there.

Wow!

DS Grandparents were incredibly cautious people. So they hid a diamond and saphhire bracelet in the dryer vent to keep from robbers.
Didn't remember that was where it was hidden untill 6 months after they sold dryer. New owner said they never found it.

This one is kinda gross. While shopping in Meiers one evening I was looking to get an insulated bottle for DS to use at football practice. As I was opening them up and checking them out, I came across one that was full of...urine!   I will spare you further details.

Maybe it was a secret clean sample for the druggie that lost his coke and joints to Mama Papa Deuce.

Didn't happen to me but friends of ours bought an old house. In the basement was a buffet that the previous owners left behind. They cleaned it out and found $10,000 in really old money behind one of the drawers. :earseek:

Wow!!! Vacation? ;)

I found $20 middle of last week. Course I spent it instead of saving it for Disney........

The only time I can remember finding anything significant I was vacationing on Hilton Head with my family when I was about 16 and I was walking along the beach and found 40.00 folded tight like it had been in someone's pocket and then fallen out. It isn't 10,000, but when you are 16, 40.00 is alot of money!

I found 20.00 on a street corner while visiting Nasseau with my DM...WE used it to gample a bit, and for a cab ride to/from Atlantis....

Wow. I hope neither your husband nor his coworker ever find anything of value that I've accidentally left behind or lost.

Well, we were cleaning out the storage eaves, and found an unopened box of saucers from a nice name brand of china that is no longer made. This box was from the late 60's or so.

The saucers were pretty, but it was just that, saucers..

So we put them up on ebay and made some money.

Hiya,

When decorating my room back at my parents house we discovered a really tiny, very old 'coin' with the Lords Prayer inscribed on it. It was beneath the skirting boards. We have never found out what it is/where it is from but figure it must be a Sunday School token?? The strange thing is the house was only about 12years old but the coin is much much older (and no one but us had ever lived there).

In my new house where I live with DFi we found a magnetic letter 'M' beneath the skirting boards lol, just such an odd thing to find and its my initial :)

I also found a passport once walking along the road, I picked it up intending to hand it in at a police station or somewhere then carried on walking...bumped into the person from the photo inside who was looking for it and handed it back :)

Cya,
Gaspodé

I don't want to come across as Holier Than Thou.... But, I would have turned the money clip in. Especially, since it could have been identified by the clip and wasn't just cash sitting by itself. If I lost $500 while I was on vacation - that would make a huge dent in our budget...

I am a big believer in Karma...
