did you ever cut school?

Yes, I did. My friends & I went to my brother's college apartment & played drinking games (shhhh...). I also met a guy 4 years older than me that day & went out with him. We've been together 16 years & married 10 years Oct. 1. Just think how different my life would be if I had NOT skipped school. I didn't make a habit of it, but that was a life changing day for me. Not proud, but not totally ashamed:) .

ALLL the time!!!! But don't let me catch my kids doing it!!!! :)

I am sure this will come as a surprise to those that know me, but yes I ditched school on occasion. I would sometimes go for a couple of classes and then friends and I would take off for the day. I probably did it a few times through 11-12 grades. Never got caught.

I never skipped school, but I did cut class a couple of times. At my high school, you got 2 "free cuts" per semester. I can only think of a couple of times that I actually cut class on purpose, though. Once was to study for a test in another subject (and my mom wrote me a note for that one!), and once was because I was socializing:rolleyes: I didn't get in trouble, though, because I was under my "free cut" allottment.

Oddly, there was only 1 class that I ever skipped in college. It was this terrible freshman chemistry lecture. There must have been 200 kids in that class. I went for the tests and used the class period to study and do the homework every day. It worked out fine. Otherwise, I never skipped class because I would never have caught up if I did (tough major).

I never cut. I was too afraid I'd get caught. Though I did pull the "Ferris Bueller" trick quite often. I was pretty good at it, and quite stubborn. THe trick, if the symptoms didn't convince your parents, was to stall...a parent with little time in the morning can only wait so long!

I did sleep through most of Physic my senior year, though.

with my mom the only thing that got you out of school was to throw up. the only way you could convince her you did (without actually doing it) is at 5am or so...just wake her up, look sad and tell her you threw up. LOL! she'd be so out of it she'd just say go back to bed. I did that a handful of times over the years.

Yes alot, even with my dad teaching at the school. I ended up getting tired of serving dentention and settled down my senior year.

Only once...I went into Philadelphia to the library to work on my term paper.

Oh - and my mother drove me to the train station. ;) I was so dumb I asked if I could cut school & she said yes. :rotfl: :rotfl:

My father was a teacher at my high school. The one and only time I skipped was a day he was out sick. He called the school to have then send his paycheck home with me. They had to tell him I wasn't in school that day:eek: I was busted as soon as I got home. He never hollered and never told my mother for about 10 years after:D

I did ONCE...I was a senior, we went to a Catholic HS and we had a dress code. I left to pick up my friend ( I drove) and we decided to go to the mall for the day. Wouldn't you know, we ran into my friend's neighbor. She asked why we were out of school, we lied and told her we did not have school that day ( remember, we went to a private school, we were sure she wouldn't know better) we walked away feeling like we pulled one over, until we realized, we are in our blouse and skirt! DUH!

My friend freaked out the rest of the day. I got home, and when I came in the house, mom asked how my day was, and I blurted out I did not go to school, we went to the mall instead. She was surprised, told me not to do it again. I didn't get punished much as a teenager, because I was my own tattle-tale. LOL.

Sorry, I don't think this qualifies! LOL:teeth: Cutting school to do school work??????

My mom was the same way. This is how she woke me up in the morning for school " get up, it is 6:30, are you going today?"

Absolutely! My parents made a terrible mistake in buying me a new car for my 16th birthday.....thats when the trouble began! Lots of older kids liked hanging out with me and even though a "caper" might not have been my idea, I was always first in line to try it.....the worse the better! Things got sooo out of control my parents sent me to a boarding school for 3 years. (Best thing they ever did!) The school got tired of dealing with me and kept threatening to expel me but my parents just kept making donations to different funds and I was allowed to stay. How horrible for those sweet, dear people! I didn't deserve them! Fortunately, I still have them in my life and they've never wavered in their support of me. Really.....I'm one very lucky gal! ::yes::

All the time!! I skipped whole days of school...I skipped classes I didn't like...whatever I felt like doing...got nailed once with about 40 cuts slips and I just turned on the tears in the principals office and he said "ok, just don't do it again" LOL...yea right. My parents went away for a week on vacation when I was in about 10th grade..I didn't go to school that whole week...just hung around the house and watched TV and played video games!

I did! I cut classes smartly though, I always made sure to get all the notes, hand in the homework and made it my business to be in class for tests!
One day my friend and I decided to have breakfast at a diner by my high school called "The Sugar Bowl" and when we tried to sneak back in they had locked the doors! :earseek:

Luckily there was a college across the street from my school and some high school kids were in a special college program. We just blended in with them when they came back to the high school.

All the time and I never got caught. I went to a private catholic school with barely any students and you'd think they would notice that I was gone but nope. Most of the time I would go to the office and pretend I was really sick or give some lame excuse which they bought. Then my best friend would go to the office (and the secretary LOVED her since my bf helped out in the office in the mornings) and my bf would give an excuse and the secretary would let her leave. Then the fun would begin and we'd go shopping, hang out, etc. But if I had gone to the office too much lately I would just leave and they wouldn't notice or they would figure I was just sick maybe because I was so pastey white and sickly looking!

I haven't "really" skipped school....in HS I was good student angot good grades. As long as my grades were good, my mom would write me a note excusing me if I wanted to stay home. She also gave me a note so I could go to a "Chemistry skip day" with my Chem. classmates.....

Yup, my mom was cool....still is :)
