Did you drink as a teenager

We used to think it was pretty wild to sneak a beer and share it at around 16, and that was one every month or so. However, the legal drinking age in NY at the time was 18 and we got right into it.

Yes, I did, too much.

Today, a rare beer or glass of wine.

I'm French and Italian - on both sides of the family it is very common to have a glass of wine with meals. I started having wine when I was 11 or 12.

I drank in HS and I drank in college. However, I always drank responsibly.
Now I usually have a glass of wine or 2 a week and usually a few mixed drinks once a month or so

Yes I did... I was allowed a certain amount of alcohol as a kid from my family (small amounts) with my first sip being at about 5. I was responisble until I hit 16... by the time I was 19, I was fed up with drinking and what it did to me and others. I more or less stopped right then and there after one crazy night. I have a rare glass of wine now and then, but more or less avoid it completely.

like a fish. No one in my family is a drinker. But, that is what we did every weekend in high school (late 80's). I'm not proud of it. We managed to be somewhat responsible and hung out in groups and had 1 sober person to watch out for the rest of us. Thank God we never got into any sticky situations. I drank every weekend till I was about 19. I rarely drink now.

Well I'm 19 now and I never drank in high school and I don't drink now in college. I was never popular in high school and never felt the need to "fit in" by drinking. Also, alcohol never really appealed to me so I have no problem avoiding it. I know I won't really drink when I turn legal age either.

Believe me, drinking is as bad, or probably worst then in the 80's when I was in high school. I think it is due to the drop in drug use. Alcohol is now the drug of choice. What scared me is these films showing alcohol poisoning. People carried home a very drunk person, put them in their bed to sleep it off and they didn't wake up.
