Did You Brave the Storm?

Just a couple of lake effect inches this morning for us. It figures ... since I bought myself skis for Christmas! Oh well :(

We already have 37 inches of snow here in MN. We are getting another one over New Years Eve. We have the equipment to move the snow, but we are running out of places to put the snow. We are use to having snow and long winters, but this much snow has been crazy! We watch a lot of movies and only go out to go to work.

We here in NJ have gotten a range of different amounts of snow, from 12 inches in the northwestern corner of the state, to more than 30 inches down by the Jersey Shore (where I am from). With this storm, here in Colts Neck we recieved 32 inches and I agree with watching a whole lot of Movies.

There are things about upstate NY that I do miss.

The proximity to NYC and all it offers
That clear, crisp perfect autumn day
The trees in the northeast.....palm trees are nice, but they dont have the
same "permanence" for lack of a better word
The infrastructure that allows you to get across town in minutes instead of
hours

The main thing I dont miss is *S*N*O*W*.

No thanks. No Way. No How.

Dont want to see it, taste it, shovel it, scrape it off anything, drive in it....you get the idea.

Give me a good ole hurricane over a nor'easter any day.:thumbsup2

I have also grown to hate snow.
I work in Albany, and I took the day off. Unfortunately, that means that I have to charge my time to annual leave.

My hubby is outside right now with the snow blower. It looks to me like 11 inches of snow, although it is hard to tell with the high winds we have had.

I don't mean to be negative, but I sure hate winter.

We got about 8 inches in Maryland, but we haven't seen any of it because our flight was cancelled and we got "stuck" at the World! The freezing weather here has been very interesting. I'm glad I brought my winter coat!:scared1:

24 inches also near the Jersey Shore in South Amboy. The drift by my back
door was 5 ft. We are shovelling out. Probably will get one car moving by tomorrow.

We got about 18 inches. Since we have an SUV we went out for a ride to see how pretty the snow looks. It was beautiful and quiet out there last night. I have admired the beauty of a big New England storm and it would now be fine to have no more for the winter! Hope everyone is safe and warm tonight!

We have over a foot, but that hasn't stopped me from hanging out with friends and walking around town. :)

The official record here was 14.2 inches of snow...but most of my yard is way above that....no work for today...we'll see about tomorrow. It sure was pretty coming down though.

That video was taken from the guy's deck in Belmar, so I guess it's a pretty accurate account of the snow totals for the area.

Up in NW NJ, it looked like we maybe got 6" from what I could see out my front door & on my back deck, but when I left for work this morning, I think it might have been closer to a foot. The drifting & the winds made it hard to measure.
