On July 21st 2003 my Dh and I lost a little boy, he was born still. We were already planning a family trip to WDW for after he was born, it would have been his first trip. Unfortunately, he wasn't there to make it with us, we all went anyway. That was the first time I saw Wishes and it hit us so hard. Now everytime I see it, DH and I end up wrapped in each other crying.

:( That's so sad!! :(

I thought I was an idiot. It just reminds me of being a child. I am also aspiring to be a teacher so when I hear the music and the child's voice...oh I just get so teary eyed. I also think about how happy I am to be at Disney.

I thought wishes was a great show, but it didnt tear me up. I was amazed by the fireworks, but it was so hot, crowed and my sis was sick that i didnt apreciate it as much as i should of. I wanted to see it again, but since we were staying off site, the mad crush to get out was too much for us. Illumintations on the other hand, that gets me. I get chills, and i feel a lump in my throat when we play the cd or watch it. We saw it 4 times this holiday. It has a great message behind it, about evolving and growing, helping others and moving on. It really speaks to me

I LOVE Wishes and I always puddle up...even when just listening to the CD!

I'd go watch Wishes every night on a trip if it were up to me. It's one of my most favorite things at WDW. If they ever change it, I'll be heartbroken.

I thought I was a cry baby at Wishes until I saw the DisneyLAND version 2 weeks ago. I was a blubbering fool! I got goose bumps when Walt's voice came on! Tinkerbelle was INCREDIBLE and nothing like the one at the MK at WDW!

I cry when I see the sign "WALT DISNEY WORLD" you can image what wishes did to me. :goodvibes

I promise this is true! Totally corny but true! Hubby and I went in March, my first time there, his 2nd. It was a delayed honeymoon from our wedding in June '03.

We had originally planned to start trying for our first baby in Jan; he got the bright idea to go to WDW, got the trip by Xmas and we decided to put off baby until we got back (roller coasters, you know). Well, we got a little anxious and started trying 2 wks before we left, thinking "This'll take forever; might as well start now....etc...."

Well we watched Wishes and I secretly made a wish that we would be successful in trying for a baby. I'm a softie that way, I still make a wish when I see a falling star, blow out b'day candles, when my necklace clasp is at the bottom, etc......

Well, we spend our week at WDW, return home on a Thursday and by the following Monday have become suspicious that it just might've happened! And lo and behold.....it did! We're expecting a baby boy on Nov 22! So...now when I listen to Wishes, I get all teary thinking about our soon to be here baby and how I made the wish for him on that night!

And, btw...the nursery is done in, you guessed, Mickey Mouse. We wouldn't have it any other way! ::MickeyMo So while he's TECHNICALLY not a WDW baby, he will be treated as if he were!

I SWEAR that's a true story!

Ok, this made me cry.

I am so happy for you both. :cloud9:

Ok...so I have been sitting here reading this thread and tearing up for the past 10 minutes! So many great, moving stories! :goodvibes

I love Wishes, and listen to the CD all the time! Like someone previously said, I get teary eyed when I see the WDW entrance sign! Nevermind Wishes and Illuminations! The music is just so powerful...it makes such a difference. :goodvibes

I was in tears when I walked into the MK that day, I was in tears looking at the Castle, and than pretty much bawled during Wishes, its just too good to be true when you are there, in that moment!

The first time I saw Wishes was at Ohanas. I am 46 yo male and have seen and experienced a lot of moving things in the past. Nothing could have prepared me for the emotions I was feeling. Needless to say it was embarrasing to get all teary eyed in the restaraunt in front of my 16 yo son. We saw it three more times on our trip and it effected me the same way each time. I cant wait to see them again in only 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I first saw Wishes fall of 2004, about 8 months after my 26 y/o son died... Cry doesn't begin to describe it... we went back 3 nights in a row before I could actually look up and see the whole thing... some wishes just won't happen... but we celebrate the years we had together... and Disney was a big part of many of those years

Oh, I am so sorry. I will hug my sons extra hard next time we are watching Wishes. On second thought, I think I will hug them right now.
