Did Wishes make you cry?

Come on! :rotfl2: No way! :rotfl: Well, I don't think so. :scratchin It is a sweet show though. :genie: Hmm, maybe just a little. :sad1: Yeah, okay, it does. Every time. ::yes:: :ssst:

Everytime. Whether I'm there or watching my video or even hearing the music. the parts that always get me 1. when the fireworks shoot straight up and beauty & the beast is playing. 2. After the "well i'll be it's the blue fairy" and when you wish upon a star starts playing. and the killer 3. the finale, see what a lil wishing can do. No joke i'm tearing up right now while i think of it...haha!

On July 21st 2003 my Dh and I lost a little boy, he was born still. We were already planning a family trip to WDW for after he was born, it would have been his first trip. Unfortunately, he wasn't there to make it with us, we all went anyway. That was the first time I saw Wishes and it hit us so hard. Now everytime I see it, DH and I end up wrapped in each other crying.

  my DD 2 1/2 just started to sing the song from Wishes, and one night we were listening to 365 LIVE radio and Wishes came on...she started singing...omg...i totally became a MESS....

That's why we bought the CD when we were there in June...omg...totally a GREAT CD btw..

best firework show in all the WORLD!!!!

is the best place to watch "Wishes" at the MK? We're going to be seeing it for the first time in September. 45 days to go! WooHoo!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Anyplace where you can see the Cinderella's Castle. It's part of the show. You're gonna love it. Take a hankie!

We were at our very first Wishes show on Sunday night July 17th and about 10 seconds or so into it, the audio gave out. It then became just fireworks. We were disappointed, and left shortly thereafter. We never went back for Wishes that week. I would have loved it with audio, I'm sure. Anyone ever have this happen to them?

That was our first night too! We were watching the fireworks that night from Libertyville. I thought we just couldn't hear the narration.

I was in WDW last Tuesday on an excursion off a cruise ship, but I had to be back on the ship by 7 PM, so we could not see wishes, so my DW bought me the CD, and we listened to it for the rest of the cruise, and fell asleep listening to it most nights. The part near the end where the children's choir sing Wishes, gets me everytime I watch it live, i get a lump in my throat and my eyes will tear a bit, I felt this listening to the CD the other day too. This one of the moments that you feel the magic of Disney.

Yes, I cried. Wishes is just a very moving display and it touches my inner child's heart very deeply. Maggie

Yep, every time!  I bought the CD and listen to it often, hoping to "desensitize" myself -- hasn't worked yet!

Illuminations is worse for me, though -- I don't think I've ever seen that without a teary haze!!

   Ah Mannnn.... Now I'm blubbering just reading the posts about it....

For a different way to experience Wishes, go behind the castle and stand between Dumbo and the Carousel. The show is amazing! You truly feel like you are right in the middle of the fireworks (well, technically you are). They are popping up all around you. The best part is there are very few people back there.

So sorry to hear of your loss.
On 5/12/01 we lost our DD(15), she had Cystic Fibrosis. She loved WDW, we had been as a family many times. So when I see or hear Wishes I think of her  .

Yes we went in July and DD (6) and I were sitting on the ground near the front of the castle. DD asked me during the fireworks did I ever have a wish that came true. I hugged her and told her that she was my very best wish the came true. She is our only child, we adopted after losing one son at birth and years of infertility. Her eyes teared up and she hugged my back and said mommy I love you so much as fire works exploded around us and the music played. It is one of those moments that a mother will treasure in her heart forever. We too have the sound track and I get teary eyed again every time I hear it.

I am getting teary eyed just reading this post. I love Wishes and Illuminations. I have only actually sat and watched Wishes once but have seen it twice (the 2nd time we were on Big Thunder during the fireworks - neat experience as well!!) I have seen Illuminations more and for some reason it ends up getting me everytime - I especially got teary eyed when watching the extra holiday add on fireworks to Illuminations last Dec (Christmas is my favorite time of year - as well as my most emotional!!) I have both soundtracks - but only Wishes makes me teary when I listen to the soundtrack.
