I know they did for my graduate degree but don't remember on the undergraduate. I'm guessing that they did not.

Yes, they read them for the smaller individual ceremonies for each school within the university. Then we went to the big "famous speaker" ceremony, and after that, we all went and stood in various lines to receive our diplomas.

They announced our names at our graduation (DH and I met in college and graduated together). It was a small private college and there were probably about 700 of us graduating. If DH had actually gone to his graduation for grad school, they would not have announced his name, just shown it on the screen, as it was a large university.

My undergrad class was less than 200 people (smaller than my high school). They called us up by major, read our names, and the President gave us our diplomas.

I skipped my graduate school graduation, but it was a huge university and I think they did the "stand up, sit down, you graduated" thing.

3000 + people in my graduating class. That would have been highly unpleasant. :)

Yep -- ours was broken up into degrees (honors first in each). It took FOREVER!
