I guess i have been out of the loop or missed this one.

was starting to look for our places to eat to make PS shortly and now i read that it can be done 180 days out??

I guess i missed our window if correct and need to put them all together tonight and call them asap!!!

Is this correct and did anything else change i need to know about??

Yes, it is now 180 days. Also, Disney resort guests can make up to 10 days worth of ADRs 180 days prior to their check-in date.

We are not going for another 170 long days and I was able to book all of our PS yesterday. DH thought I was jumping on the bandwagon too early but I read mostly complaints about people not getting into restaurants they wanted because of being booked up. Can never be to prepared?????

I think one of the advantages of the new 180 day policy is that everyone isn't all rushing to make the ADRs on the same day anymore. There really is no reason to call in at the stroke of 8:00. The ADRs will be taken, over a period of time after the 180 day point, rather than all at once within a few hours of the 90 day point, as was the case with some of the meals at some of the restaurants, under the previous 90 day policy.

I agree. I called on the first day of the 180 policy, which was about 140 days out for us. I got all the days and times, but then we changed our dates and I switched our itinerary around, and therefore needed to change some of our ADRs. I called about 90 days out and again got all the days and times I wanted. I was even able to get Crystal Palace at 8:05am.

How is this affecting CRT?

CRT was addressed differently. They've finally made the price for CRT more reflective of how much guests value the experience. Since it is no longer so much of a better deal than the alternatives, it is apparently no longer selling out so quickly.

Okay, that works. I seem to remember seeing that it's now worth two TS credits on the dining plan, is that correct? It seems the package is a little more worthwhile as well.

Yes, two TS credits... and the cash price went up significantly as well.

I'm just surprised at the need for 180 day ADRs. Do that many people really plan their trips 6+ months in advance?

Definitely not. It's not a matter of "need" -- it's a matter of capability. They can offer it, and it avoids problems at the 90 day point (the fastest finger crap at 8AM, which was the source of a lot of guest AND CM dissatisfaction). If you can do something, and there are advantages to doing it, and there are no downsides to it, then you do it! :)

Some do. I started planning ours more than a year out.

No need to panic though. We just recently made our ADRs for our April trip and we were able to get our first choice for everything. We eat at peak times, too, so apparently too many people aren't taking advantage of the 180 day window. Although that may change as time goes on and more people are made aware.

On our last 2 trips we decided at the last minute to take an additional person along which required rebooking all of our PSs. I was surprised that I had no trouble whatsoever getting the PSs. And this was during Spring Break for a party of 6!
