Did the price suddenly drop?

Looking at resales, I was stunned to see how low the listed prices are lately -- and how many small contracts there are! Normally the smaller contracts (under 100) don't even make it to the webpages.

I rarely saw any prices above $72... and some were as low as 65 or 60. Yes, some did have "no pts available in this use yr", or had been borrowed against... but still, under 70 per pt is low! I find it hard to believe DVC would not excercise ROFR on those.

Looking at the small contracts made me wonder how wise I had been to get that DVC add-on... could have really boosted my add-on total for roughly same amt of cash with these prices (IF in fact DVC lets 'em go through...)

The low prices may be more an indication of the motivation of the seller, since Disney is still exercising ROFR on resales.

If you are a seller who is more interested in the speed of the process than getting a few extra dollars, a low offering will likely accomplish that- whether Disney buys it or not. The low price is more likely to get a fast offer and then let Disney do the rest.

The seller gets the same amount regardless who ends up purchasing the contract.

I would never look back at a purchase decision and wonder "what if". You can do this every day in life and make yourself miserable.

You decided to add on based on the information available at the time. And frankly, is it worth the effort and sweat to save a couple of dollars a point for only a relatively small number of points? I'm assuming your add-on was a relatively low number of points?

If you purchase a resale of 100 points and pay closing costs, that adds about $4-5 a point right there. And you can't choose your use year or exact number of points.

My guess is you did what was best for your situation. Congratulations on your additional points! :)

Why, yes, that's just what I did, didn't I?!

And besides... I'll just consider this a good reason to get ANOTHER add-on further down the road... an HH resale looks verrrrrry attractive, and would be a nice compliment to our BWV pts (and BWV add-on) from DVC!

Thanks for the confidence boost! :smooth:
