Did the BTMRR Refirb get canceled?

I'm with you. Will all the attractions closing, and the Frozen ride pushed back, I was starting to rethink our trip. BTMRR is a huge favorite of ours, as well as Soarin'. If this is true it makes me so happy!!!

A week ago I was tempted to post that Spring 2016 was turning into the worst time to have a trip planned to Disney. Then the SW stage show, etc at DHS and now this and I'm feeling much better about it.

That would be great! We're going in April and my oldest was super bummed to have his two favorites (Soarin' and BTMRR) closed. I'm not mentioning anything until we know for sure, but I will keep checking to see if I can get a FP for it!

This could have no significance at all, but I did notice that when I was practicing making FP selections about a week ago, I couldn't select BTMRR and there was a message about the refurb happening between April 4, 2016 and July 2016 (it started with "Pardon Our Pixie Dust, Pardners!"). When I made my actual FP selections this morning, the refurb message was gone and replaced with "Fastpass+ Distribution Has Ended for Selected Day."

Agree. We're going in May. As a PP said, best not to count on it until you're able to book FP+ for it. It's been on the refurb schedule, then off, then back in again. I didn't tell my family before when it disappeared, and in not going to tell them now. They've all come to accept that we won't be riding it this trip. If it turns out to be open it will be a nice surprise for them.

I'm in exactly the same boat. Thanks to a whole bunch of factors, including all the new and exciting stuff that will be open, our quick 4 day trip in April has turned into 6. There's a surprising number of things that will (hopefully) have just opened/avoided closing. April can't get here soon enough!

They likely haven't updated the calendar yet. Everything I have seen and heard says its closed from April on to July for a refurb.

Ha! We moved our trip up almost 2 months and have been scrambling trying to get ready because this is our daughter's favorite ride and she would have been so disappointed if it was closed during our trip! Serves us right

That's my plan, too. He's accepted it's closed and will be pleasantly surprised if it's not. I won't mention anything to avoid getting his hopes up and having it turn out to be closed after all.

My trip is in the third week of April and FPs were locked out during that time. So as far as Disney is concerned, the ride will be closed in April. That can always change, but this was current as of yesterday.

I'm going April 9th through April 20th and it is not available for FP+ selection unfortunately.

It does have hours posted for after 4/4 now though instead of saying it's closed. The FP page also says that distribution had ended, not that it is closed. So, I'm not counting on it being open, but I will keep an eye out for anything official.

I'm hearing mixed reports on this. I'm seeing some sites saying it will be closed from April until July. Then some sites saying it was now moved to August to November.

For whatever its worth, according to Disney's website, the 'official' place to look for refurb info is the webpage for each attraction (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/non-operational-attractions/). I know the BTMR page said it was closed in May when I checked several weeks ago. It now shows it open. Wdwinfo (which is the DIS or is also owned by the people who own the DIS or something) just updated yesterday and removed it. I'd certainly feel better if people were able to make Fast Pass reservations, but I think the signs are pointing to the refurb being rescheduled. I realize someone could have made a mistake and/or it could be put back on again (Disney giveth, Disney taketh away - a lot for this ride apparently), but it seems likely that at least something changed.
