Did the BTMRR Refirb get canceled?

I've been checking on this one quite a bit as I am going in July. I'm hoping this means it is pushed back. I believe it was doctordisney.com that stated it had been listed unofficially but disney had not officially announced a refurb. I'm hoping this means it is pushed back, ESPECIALLY with the uncertainty of Soarin' being open as well...
Being that this is in MK and soarin is in Epcot that usually doesn't affect how Disney or when Disney closes things for refurb. Soarin is said to open in June.

We leave on the 15th so it looks like it is going to be down when we are there....guess we will have to plan another trip to go on it!

They updated the queue to add the interactive features. My guess this closure is for adding the dynamite explosion in the last tunnel like DL.
It would be nice if they could make the whole ride as smooth as the updates they did at DL made their BTMRR. It was an amazingly smooth, much more enjoyable experience!

Disneyland's version was down for 14 months as they got an entire new track. WDW's is only down for 4 months I don't see any major track work happening.

That's unfortunate. DH doesn't like to ride btmrr with me in wdw because of how much it jolts him around. We were both pleasantly surprised at how smooth dl's updated version was.

And that's why I didn't tell my family it might be open for our trip.

Smart. I dumbly thought that after it disappeared from every major site I was safe to tell the kids it was back on. Less than a week later ...

The only good thing I can say is that at least it's official and settled now. I was tired of the uncertainty and false hope that brought.

And while I get that they are in different parks, BTMR and Soarin are two of a rather small selection of in-between rides. Not exactly thrill rides, but a step up from clamshell through a scene and the many different themed versions of Dumbo. I wish Disney considered that in their scheduling. If moving our dates was an option, I would. They managed to hit two of my kids' favorite ride.

Does anyone know what months in 2012 it was closed? That was the last time my DSs went with us, and I'm pretty sure it was closed then. We went in October.

We were there end of March 2012 and it was closed. Glad we will get to finally ride it, was getting worried they were going to push it back into our October trip this year.

Bummed, but excited for some upgrades! We make a trip every other year, so we'll manage.

My pain exactly. I'm leaving July 14th and it is scheduled to open the 16th. I put serious thought into changing my dates but that airfare change fees alone put that out of reach.

Exactly how I felt about this. We are going on our first trip in April and we probably will not be going back for several years. For people visiting several times a year, no big deal, but for people that cannot go that often missing two headliners is big.

I don't know the exact dates but it was closed when we were there for our honeymoon in August that year.

I feel like BTMRR was just closed for a refurb within the last 2 years or so? Anyone?

BTMRR was closed 2-3 years ago for several months to redo the track. Unless a problem has popped up I wouldn't expect that to be done again for a long time. It was at that time that they seemed to just completely end any of the shaking rocks in the final climb.
