Did Rush Limbaugh really say "I hope Obama fails" I just heard a brief clip.

Please say this was taken out of context. PLEASE!

I am not a big fan of Obama. But, I pray that he succeeds I pray he proves me wrong. I want him to prove those who did not vote for him wrong. We all win if he does that

Who would want our President to fail? Who would be that idiotic?

I believe what Rush is saying ( as are many many conservatives) is that they hope that he fails at bringing some of his policies to fruition. Many of us who did not vote for Obama feel very strongly that a failure of some of his ideas would be success for the country. Most of us are wholeheartedly against universal healthcare, against further bailouts (we wern't for the first ones), and against the FOCA, against closing Gitmo, etc. All of these "failures" are really success in our eyes.

I guess it all depends on how you look at things. I do not believe for a second that Rush wants this country to fall apart any more than any other citizen.

From what I saw, he hopes he fails in the policies he wants to adopt because Rush thinks they'd be bad for the country. Why should you be shocked? Most of what Obama has been spouting has been much bigger gov't and a trend toward a more socialist system, all things Rush is against. Of course he'd want him to fail in that respect, as do I.

I hope BO can succeed in making us a better, stronger country, but I think he has to change his approach to do that.

He did! He said that he hopes that the liberal ideas of Obama fail. I 100% agree with him. I hope that the socialistic, liberal ideas that Obama has been spouting for the last year and half fail. I don't wish ill on our country, and I feel his liberal ideals will bring ill to our country.

What is sad about Rush is all the theatrics, and huffing and puffing, and inflammatory garbage that comes out of his mouth is all done for ratings. He is no better that Howard Stern, or any other shock jock. They rile people up and make tons of money doing it.

What gets me is I listen to Rush(for as long as I can stomach him) and Hannity basically to hear the other side. I believe it keeps me honest. But so many people who listen to them take their word for everything and don't even bother to fact check what is said. There are a lot of half truths, misinformation, and complete BS coming from these guys, but their listeners bite hook line and sinker .

Did YOU listen to him? He didn't say it for ratings and if YOU had listened to him you would have known exactly why he said it. Maybe you should take the time to instead of basing your opinion on just a sound bite
I don't agree with Rush but I can understand him, he is a conservative, no conserrvative would want Obama to succeed in implementing his policies, is that really surprising?

I truly believe that there are some people out there that hope BO fails, even to the detriment of the country. RL, wouldn't surprise me if he was one of those. He is such a blowhard. I actually tried to listen to his show a couple of times many years ago, but all he could do is talk about "ME, I, ME, I"..I swear every other word out of his mouth is about HIM. Lost any hope of credibility with me a long time ago, and I was actually trying to understand his views, but couldn't get past his ego.
