Did NOT know you could only hold one boarding group at a time!

I was starting my day at DCA so at 7am the only option I had was Web Slingers, which I got. Fast forward to now (well, three minutes before noon) and I’m starting to get ready to score a Rise boarding group and I panicked a little when it said I couldn’t try to get one and then found out it’s because I was already holding one. Well my web slinger had 25 minutes left to wait but cancelled that thing faster than I thought was possible so I could get Rise, which I did.

This kinda seems like a stupid system. There was no way my Rise boarding group would be before my web slinger, in fact, I can’t even park hop till 1pm. If your existing BG is before park hop time, the app shouldn’t even count it…

Oh well, done web slingers three times on this trip and Rise only once, Rise Is 1000% better so it was an easy pick…

Dang--- I didn't realize you could cancel and then try for ROTR! On our trip Oct 6-10. our WS got called at 12:05 and I spent the last half of the morning very stressed out that I wouldn't be able to try for ROTR. Had I realized that, I would have just cancelled WS before noon. Congratulations! We only got to do ROTR once in 5 days. We got WS twice- that was our 2nd time. You are lucky!!!!!

Two of the web slinger rides were during two different Halloween bash events when it is standby and ~35 to 45 minutes usually.

I forgot about BG entirely my first day, got one with my coworker and I mashing buttons at 7am on the second day, struck out on the 3rd day (no solo after my coworker had to fly home), and now got Rise a second time on day 4.

Honestly I thought I would be able to get it each day. I’m happy and got to experience it so I’ll leave happy… but I am a little perplexed and annoyed at how hard it is. I can’t tell if it’s running full capacity or not right now and didn’t realize it closes an hour earlier than the park does.

Again, I’m happy. I know some miss it entirely… but I do want to do it more too 🤣

Totally agree should be able to hold one from the 7am and the other at the 12pm try with park hopping. It happened to me our first day. Webslinger didn’t get until just after noon so was locked out. The next day had an earlier group and got the evening ROTR.

I also find it frustrating and nonsensical. The guest has no control over whether their group gets called before noon or not.

The day I was most annoyed was when we had ROTR that was "supposed" to be called around 10, and Blue Bayou at 11. Well, ROTR broke down briefly and we got called at 11:15 - when we were already eating. If we didn't have Blue Bayou, we could have easily scanned into ROTR and tried for Webslingers at 12... so, basically, our choice to drop a bunch of $$$ at Blue Bayou locked out out of Webslingers. Seems dumb.

I actually went to Guest Services and asked if they could do anything for us given those circumstances, and they said no. (This was in August, and we were on a single-day ticket and had only gone on Webslingers once at that point.)

On one of the first few days of Magic Keys I almost dumped my Rise boarding group to grab Web Slingers but given that crowd levels were low, I took the risk. There were still boarding groups so I grabbed one a few minutes after 12 and it worked out. Lately, I've been picking DCA start more often than Disneyland start just because Web Slingers tends to get called earlier. Not only does Web Slingers open earlier (Rise typically opens an hour after park open) but Web Slingers also breaks down less.

260 minutes to go 🤣

This is so true!! We were able to get a BG for ROTR at noon one day - we ended up not going on the ride until prior to the park closing for the day because the ride kept breaking down.

Well, if it makes you feel better about your standby wait-- with a BG we waited about half an hour for WS, got to where we could see the vehicles and were evacuated. When we returned later though they did basically "Fast pass" us so we skipped most of the line. The 2nd day we got a WS boarding pass I think our wait was about 40 minutes. These were both beat by ROTR where we waited in line for an hour and 15 minutes once our BG was called!

We wanted more too--- we REALLY wanted a 2nd ride on ROTR sometime in that 5 days. We would have happily waited another 1 hour and 15 minutes if we could have ridden it again.

I’ve been very happy with the “active” waits on these attractions, probably 20 minutes or less on both once a boarding pass is called. Just I’ve yet to get a boarding pass that is shorter than a 200 min return 😬
