What are your Disney pet peeves?

5. Since this "Disney" people who buy less points than a studio for one week at their home resort and are still classified as DVC members. (your 25 point resale contract is not the same as those with 300-2000 points)
Care to clarify this point? Are you saying I'm not entitled use my points as I see fit unless I own above a certain threshold?

I don't mind the appearance of a CM, it matters far more to me that they treat people kindly (and that guests do the same) than what they look like, besides some of the worst guest behavior has come from people who appear to be well-kempt in the form of entitlement.

If I have a poor interaction with a CM what they look like isn't a detail I even think about, it's that the experience ended up being soured so bring on the tattoos and more I'll take that over rudeness any day.
I dont care what people look like either as far as level of perceived attractiveness lol. I said if you have facial hair to please groom it and maintain it because unkempt/unclean hair is actually a hygiene issue and can spread bacteria in a park thats already full of bacteria and contribute to that issue and I dont think a CM should do that. And yeah it is gross to see a beard full of dandruff or particles stuck in it as i have seen. Hence the need to groom. That is not okay for Disney imo.

Tattoos dont do that so yeah there are worse things than that I agree, but were talking pet peeves and it is noticeable if youve worked at the parks years ago or have been coming for years when it wasn't allowed. And i have tattoos so im not against that in general, but if they were in noticeable areas and i was asked to cover them up to maintain a more professional look at work i wouldn't mind personally and Disney used to require this when they cared about that.

I think a guests that feels entitled feels that way regardless of whether they practice good hygiene or what they look like ...

I wasn't talking about attractiveness nor did I mention that, it's a bit odd to bring that to the table I would think.

It's not obvious to people who have been going to the parks for years (which includes me), it's noticeable if that's what you've been noticing all these years which was my point--someone's appearance isn't what I care about in terms of a park going experience. It matters to some, to you obviously, but in the grand scheme of things I just want them to be polite and to have good customer service most especially if an issue comes up.

A pet peeve then would be people who associate tattoos to mean unprofessional. Facial hair like hair on your head should be hygienic which goes without saying, but the presence of facial hair does not get my pearls clutching like it does to some. Obviously YMMV.

You said you dont mind their appearance so im saying I dont mind their appearance aka how they look either. I care about hygiene. Thats not weird. Having unkempt facial hair is a hygiene issue. Maybe you dont have an issue with that or contributing to the spread of bacteria (which btw people going to the park sick is another pet peeve of mine), but others, including myself, do.

I was trying to be nice about it by saying im the old fashioned one and leaving it at that. If im standing in front of someone and talking to them and they have particles in their beard or it looks as if they dont ever maintain it, its going to be noticeable to anyone, not just me. I dont have a problem with facial hair, I said unkempt, which is gross. The presence of facial hair in general does not get my pearls in a clutch like youre insinuating. I dont know why after explaining why it bothers me this would bother anyone.

A guess the PP may think along the lines that if you have more you should be entitled to more. Maybe they are thinking those with such small contracts shouldn't get the same label as those who purchase more but I would argue that over the years it's clear that what someone bought in at decades ago got a way different point structure/buy in than someone now.

To the point using the PP's numbers a person who bought in at 2,000 points in 1995 just randomly putting a date there would not be the same type nor purchasing power than someone who bought the same points today, if we used their line of thinking that would mean the person who bought decades ago isn't really the same level (meaning they are lesser) than someone who is buying that many points today.

Just my guess although I don't really think members should even want to play the caste system so I can't really relate to that thinking.

Yes, my personal belief is that DVD should have insisted on a minimum purchase to create and activate a membership. I also personally believe that the minimum should equal 1 bedroom villa in one's home resort for one week. There are not enough studios. Also, everyone should be counseled to buy where they want to stay. Don't buy SSR expecting GFV or even, BCV.

Appearance doesn't mean attractiveness especially in the context of the conversation so yes I find that odd that someone would go that direction, we're talking about employees of companies here.

I wasn't speaking to you personally when I made my comment (I would have quoted you if I was), other posters mentioned things too, you don't need to get into rationalizing your thinking. I know that line of thinking, I grew up in that era of thinking for jobs, I worked at companies who were like that, I just don't share the mentality. To your last point I don't know why after putting my comment in, why responding to when you quoted me what doesn't bother me would bother anyone. I'm not bothered by your opinion, you're just sharing yours like I shared mine.

Ok then I guess it just baffles me that by you saying you dont care about appearance meant something unhygienic doesnt bother you so I assumed you were speaking of someones actual appearance cause I cant wrap my head around that not bothering most people. There are obviously people that dont care about that 😬 or I wouldnt have to mention it.

I am the only one that brought up facial hair in this thread and you are the only one that responded in this thread about facial hair not bothering you. We're talking about what our pet peeves are not what they arent randomly, but anyways I am done with this conversation and I am not going to be made to feel like I have some weird line of thinking because intentionally spreading bacteria by way of bad hygiene from an employee in a park where thousands of people visit bothers me.

Have a good day.

I would agree with that just on the basis of being more transparent and realistic. If someone was buying with the intent to normally book X place with Y room category and type for Z time of year they should have that open conversation of the likelihood (which is low more than likely) of that happening. But I do think there's room to be fine with buying points at X place with the intent that you'll probably try to book elsewhere, you just shouldn't get all uppity if it doesn't happen.

I think they actually have quite a lot of studios but I do think because they are so incredibly popular they book up quite fast.

I think Disney tries to accommodate different types of traveling parties with exception that I don't think they are very good at larger parties with adults as their room occupancy normally has like pull down smaller beds. But like hotels or other time shares people don't all have the same needs.

MK used to stay open late when it was busy…many times until midnight. Then they had Extra Magic Hours which were THREE more hours after that for Disney hotel guests so the park would close at 3am. Those hours helped spread the crowd out. Now Disney doesn’t care how busy the parks are and whether someone can ride enough rides to feel they had a good day. They used to have a formula for figuring out how many rides one could do and whether they needed to extend park hours to accommodate guests. Sadly, those days are over.
I think they figured it out:

Party nights are an extra charge ticket KA Ching!! and if you aren't going to buy that ticket , but still want to go into MK then you will pay for LL KA Ching!! to insure you ride what you want. I hope everyone has figured this out!!!
Of course you do not have to do this...... I for one am spending the same amount of $ on my WDW, I'm just not staying as long. I love WDW, I don't love what has happened to it.

If you actually look at my first comment the only thing I said was tattoos which someone else brought up. I didn't state facial hair (because I wasn't talking about that specifically) until you quoted me and said something about it.

Ok I probably sound so old fashioned and im obviously not and maybe gunna get ripped for this, but if you have facial hair, which again used to be unacceptable, please trim/groom and maintain and follow what used to be Disney standard.

I count someone with dandruff and particles in the hair on their head to be along the same lines of a beard that has the same, neither are what you'd want, but you only specified facial hair. Someone's hygiene encompasses a lot from body odor to hair on head to facial hair. Only you were talking about Disney's changing policy towards facial hair and then subsequently agreed with someone about tattoos, I am sure that Disney's policy already did and still includes you need to wash your hair.

What I did speak to was that when it comes to how I as a customer/guest feels when I'm there I care more about them being polite and fixing issues rather than facial hair or tattoos.

You talk about being old fashioned and about the allowance of facial hair and tattoos nowadays which is not one in the same with hygiene of an employee. I think we all agree you should be hygienic regardless of the presence of tattoos and facial hair. I just said the appearance of tattoos and facial hair is not something I care about.

Again I will say you don't need to rationalize your thoughts, I wasn't even speaking about you specifically, you are indeed the one who opted to quote me so I am to use your words baffled as to why you have chosen to continue then end with an edited "have a good day". I am not bothered by your opinion but you do seem bothered by my not even specific to you comment.

You’re a lot nicer than I am. I’m the hip person’s worst nightmare. I’m 100% judgement lol. I find the beard trend in society at large disgusting. I’m fine with a very well groomed beard but I see very few of those. I also find the no showering trend and wash your hair once a week trend simply gross. Be aware, you may think you look okay, but everyone else can tell you haven’t showered or that you haven’t washed your hair in three days. No, it doesn’t make your hair look better, just neglected. I also am grossed out by long fingernails and stick on nails. If I am honest every time I’ve had long nails or stick ons they get stuff under them and they can have a smell no matter how much you shower etc. I think tats can be cute but not in places visible in work settings. They look chaotic in a work setting. But I’m also against people wearing political pins or union pins in work settings or big jewelry, anything that detracts from their job. TBH I care more about the beards and showering than tats. But I’m real old school lol.
As far as looks, some of the best looking people practice the grossest hygiene. 🤮

People probably hate me on here but that’s okay.

I have heard that so much from people that they are reducing the amount of days they are going to the parks or staying on site and really who could blame anyone?

That brings me to the other one that people have already talked about but the after hours to deluxe only guests. I knew I would never be able to recreate out 2017 trip but it certainly makes it easier for me to want to stay off site if there's a lot less to get by staying on site.

I also am grossed out by long fingernails and stick on nails.
There's a practical issue to that (along with length of a beard and even length of your hair on your head).

In a theme park setting if the nails obstruct your ability to handle food or operate an attraction that is an issue. Same as if if your hair is too long and could get caught in something that could affect safety.

That's a big pet peeve of mine, but I don't want to be "that guy" pointing it out in all the posts here.

The Lightening Lanes are the lines to the restrooms. You come out a little lighter than when you went in.
Better to be, "that guy" pointing it out, then to be "that guy" getting defensive about it. You paid to cut lines, that negatively affects everyone who didn't. What's worse? The guy who doesn't care about the people around him, or the guy who doesn't care how much you spent doing that?

I did not only specify facial hair I specified UNTRIMMED/UNGROOMED facial hair which is gross and unhygienic which goes without saying. I dont need to detail that.

I told you why I put old fashioned already. I chose to end it because there is no point in furthering this because there is no point in reasoning with someone leaving out the details of what my actual issue is over and over which is the presence of UNTRIMMED/UNGROOMED facial hair leads to bacteria and that bothers me.

And now im really going to end this because iirc you are the same person that took issue to another poster who owns dvc comparing the cost of her night out somewhere else to Disney into her being an elitist and stuck up and all kinds of irrational things as youre trying to do to me

I remember now that this is a poster that just likes to argue with dvc members and make them out to be elitist and twist what theyre actually trying to say so now I get it and can move on 🤣

I agree with just about everything you're saying 🤣. I do like the way the acrylics look, but I would be lying if I said that stuff doesnt get stuck under acrylics and that is unhygienic too 🤣

To be clear I never quoted you, I never spoke about your comment in particular. I made a neutral enough gave an opinion to which you opted to quote me in a jabbing manner. I am not one to report people but you do not need to attack me nor keep quoting me to attack me, it's escalating beyond what it ever should have been with that, you have your opinion and I had mine it's really truly okay here to not share that opinion.
