Hey everyone,

I "peniciled in" October 17, 2007 at 7:30pm for the Wedding Pavillion, and the reception at the Grand Floridian. Well, Pam Pierce called me today to tell me that the GF and the Yacht Club (our 2nd choice) were already booked by conventions, and the only thing available was the Boardwalk. Needless to say, I am very disappointed.

Then, I asked if they had the lotto already for the WP, which they were supposed to have on Friday. They said that they did not have it yet, they would have it tomorrow, and the chances were slim. :furious:

I think I am giving up my dream of a DFTW. This is just too much of a headache for me. I guess I am going back to a NYC wedding...

Just wanted to share. I am so upset!

Thank you all for listening!!

I'm sorry. That's unfortunate. I know how happy I was that ours was available last year. Have you considered another date as a back-up in case you don't get the lottery? What about another location for the ceremony? There are so many beautiful locations throughout Disney. I hope you don't give up on your dream wedding - keep your fingers crossed, think positively, and think about other options just in case - Good Luck!!

I hope everything out with the wedding... I am hoping that my day will be available I would be just as upset as you if it's not...

Good luck to you

No! Please don't give up! I'm sure there's an even better location available for your wedding....or maybe your site will be open on another date?

How many people are you having? Are you set on the WP, or would you be interested in other locations. Send me a PM, and we can go over a bunch. I have photos of most of them.

I'm sorry to hear things aren't working out. Like another poster said, perhaps another date? What ever you decide, I hope your wedding is magical.

Sending you good vibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes for things to work out for you. I hate to see someone give-up on a beautiful dream wedding. Keep calling them and things may just work out for you!

:grouphug:

Im sorry things are not working out for you! It was the same for my reception venue, i was originally having it at the yacht club and was bumped for a convention.

Im now at the boardwalk - marvin gardens and we went to have a look at the room in May and it is lovely! I found it so much nicer than the yacht club as its so light and airy and has the lovely patio area. Its a lovely room for a reception!

If your not 100% set on the WP for your location how about one of the other locations like seabreeze point? or if you are, is it possible to change dates?

I'm am so sorry. Is there another date you could choose? I'm sure that everything will work out.

Awwwwwwwwww! I'm so sorry! I know you have been hoping and wishing for months that you would be able to get that date :( Keep your chin up and don't give up. You still have some time for things to change!

I know in our case we gave Disney five or so date/time combos that would work and we wound up getting our second choice. We had at first wanted the GF but upon further examination we decide the Boardwalk wa just morw us and we liked the ballrooms better so maybe it is not such a bad thing? If you hate the BW as Jonette mentioned there are quite a few locations so don't fret I know it is really frustrating...I just went through this a couplke of months ago. Keep your chin up and min open and it will work out. Good luck.

:grouphug: dont worry things will work out it must be meant to be for some reason maybe u will like something else even more!! :goodvibes i am penciled in for the BW marvin gardens i think it looks very nice. i do have a question though i already have randy chapman and stan severance booked for photography and video what happens if i get bumped to a different date, do u guys think they will work with me with that or no? i would hate to lose my deposits! also if they wouldnt be available for my new date would they refund me? im getting worried now. has anyone went through this??? :confused3

I'm interested to hear about Randy especially, as we have paid $400 deposit for Dec 2007 (I didn't want to lose him!!) so obiously our date can't be confirmed for many months yet. I gave him my 1st and 2nd dates (and times) and he said he understood how Disney works so shouldn't be a problem. Have you got a back-up date in mind already, 'cos it might be worth making Disney, Stan and Randy aware of it sooner rather than later? Fingers crossed everything works out for you.

I was in the same situation with Randy. I send it my deposit because I knew I wanted him to photograph my wedding. I explained that I didn't have a firm date, and he was very understanding about it. I'm sure he deals with Disney brides all the time who don't have a firm date. He said he would either move the date or refund if he wasn't available for the new date.

This is the same thing he told me. I'm sure he will work with you if he possibly can. He told me if he was not available once I got booked, he would refund my money. He seems like a really nice guy, I can't wait to meet him in person.

o thanks guys i feel alot better now :goodvibes i guess now i should think of a 2nd date in case the first dont work out :rotfl: always something :p

Don't give up. You deserve to have the wedding of your dreams. Why not try a different date? October in Disney is notoriuosly busy.
