Just not my cup of tea. Had an ADR but walk ups were getting in before us. The communal tables were fine. Just didnt care for the food.

I too was disappointed on our last trip.
We waited an insanely long time to check in and be seated. But that was not my issue. I was disappointed in the buffet.
I also expected more from the entertainment.
I just didn't enjoy it, and I am pretty open to different experiences
Enjoy

I can understand why you say that. When we went in January, the food was....pretty good. My favorite thing on the buffet was the tomato and cucumber salad. The chef who helped my gluten-free son with food options and our server were extremely nice. If we return, it will be because we were treated well.

The counter service in Germany is one of our favorites, though. It seemed to me that we had fresher food from CS, and the warm CS pretzels beat the stuffing out of the cold, hard pretzel bread on the buffet.

I'm sorry to hear none of you had an amazing experience! My family has the toughest time choosing between eating at Norway and Germany. We've eaten in Germany many times and we've loved it every time! Perhaps most of the food is an aquired taste? I know my dad and I love going there for the sauerkraut, and the waiters in Germany are pretty cute too!

Biergarten is a must for my husband. So every trip we go there for him. I do like the staff and entertainment. I thought I was going to hate the food, but actually like it. So I do not mind going. It is good for us, but when I travel without him I do not eat at the Biergaten, I usually pick another place to eat at.

Our experience was similar to yours; long wait because they "lost" the ressie- even though we brought our confirmation, and though my mom is German and I am used to German food, it was bland and lukewarm on the night we went. I do believe others have had better experiences, but it's def not on our list of must dos.

The first time I went to Beirgarten, I was scared that I was not going to enjoy it, and so was my mom because I am a picky eater. My family and I had never eaten German food before, so we were feeling very adventurous and excited to try something new. In the end, we loved it and always plan on going during our trips!

Yeah, it is not for everyone, but for me being a picky eater I was able to find a lot of foods to eat and enjoy. The seating I found a bit weird but now I like it. And the entertainment is fun, I love watching the old and the young dance. I'm sorry to see that some people did not enjoy it, again not for everyone. But if anyone wants to try it please don't be afraid lol. On most days you can just walk in and eat without a reservation, that is what my family and I did our first time.

I went to Biergarten this past Monday for lunch. The food was good, but it did not "wow" me. I do like German food, sausages, etc. I would not be opposed to eating there again but I would rather try other places I haven't eaten at first.

:goodvibesLove Biergarten eating there twice my next trip!!!

Sorry you did not have a yummy time. We eat there once every trip. It is not my favorite, but DH, DS & DD absolutely LOVE the food.

my wife and sister went to Biergarten with me for the first time and since they were both picky eaters I figured they would stop after the salad bar. I have eaten there a couple dozen times and have always loved the food, atmosphere and dining with other people. Even as a single I have loved being there.

I was surprised that my wife and sister both came back to the table with a full plate from the salad section and another plate from the hot food bar. My wife told me if she didn't like something that I would have to eat it, but other than the breaded chicken which was overcooked and tough, she and my sister ate everything and went back for more! I didn't tell my wife what it was they were eating because I didn't want to influence them.

It was nice to relax and enjoy the food and entertainment and share the table with total strangers!

It's good to know that DH and I aren't the only ones who dislike this restaurant. We really wanted to love it. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but didn't like the food. It just wasn't for us.

I am not a sausage or saurakraut person.....but I loved the chicken and pork dishes and the potato leek soup is great.. I found enough to eat and my hubby loved it..also the desserts are pretty good too..

as always stated......we all like different restaurants and different foods.......

I live in a fairly German part of the US, so I have access to lots of homemade German foods, and I really didn't enjoy Biergarten. The atmosphere was fun, and the kids really enjoyed that part, but otherwise the food was NOT the best. In fact, we had to order chicken strips/fries last time for my 8 year old (but it took an hour to get them!).
We don't need to go back again!
