Did MGM close last year on NYE?

I was just wondering if anyone had any input on what MGM might be like on NYE, or what it was like last year. We don't normally go to the parks that day, but thought we would like to go into MGM just to see the fireworks that night, probably arriving around 9. We are staying at a Disney resort, if that matters. Will MGM be filled to capacity already by this time, do we even stand a chance?

Wasn't there last year but two years ago, my son and his family went from Animal Kingdom at closing over to MGM. They had a great time and left around 9:00 to meet back up with us. He's a Disney veteran and thought, while it was crowded, it was manageable. I believe he said they were still letting people in when they left.

I was there and we thought about going out to our car to get jackets around 10pm and we told that if we left we wouldn't be allowed back in, because it was closed. This year we're going to Epcot and bringing our jackets with us.

MGM has added fireworks, to help draw crowds from Epcot and MK. So I bet it will close, especially after AK closes and if the other 2 are closed. If you really want to see the fireworks, I would go earlier.
