2005 Trip Report

Tuesday April 12, 2005 Day #1

Woke up at 3:30am and caught a taxi ride to the airport. Arrived at the airport at 4:45am, 4:45am for a 7:00am flight, don’t ask me, ask my husband. I was promised an isle seat, got a middle one. Landed in Orlando at 10:40am, picked up our luggage and got the rental car. We made our traditional stop at 7-11 for food and drink. Got to Epcot at about 12:30pm. My hubby wanted to do test track right away so we went there. I waited for him, not a good ride for a pregnant woman. He said it was great though. We get to the fairy ride at about 1:45pm, trying to make it to Alfredo’s in Italy on time for our 2:00pm PS, we make it 5 minutes early, woohoo! We get seated and served right away; we both had spaghetti, wonderful food. I had tiramisu for dessert, very rich and very caffinated, oops. After lunch we head out to check into our hotel. We are staying off property this year at the Roadway Inn. We realize on the way to the hotel that our A/C in the car is broke, yuck! We get to the hotel at about 4:00pm, it looks a bit run down but I’ll deal with it. I was promised a 1st floor room as I have a hard time climbing stairs after being on my feet all day, got a 2nd floor room. Poor hubby is going to have to carry my up the stairs. We took and break and unpacked for on or so. About 5pm we went to Wal-mart to pick up some snacks and a cooler for the hotel room, we have no refrigerator. We drop everything off at the hotel and head back to Epcot. We get to Epcot at about 6:30pm. I want to do pin trading this trip, the pins are expensive so we buy three, two Eeyore and one Mickey Mouse. My hubby wants to do Living Seas, I want to do Mission Space Interactive Center, and we do Living Seas. Talked with Crash from Finding Nemo. “Like totally awesome dude.” He actually interacts with the audience, I wonder how. After Living seas we head to find a seat for Illuminations. I sit down at 7:30pm and send hubby for food. Hubby comes back at about 8:00pm with Lo-mien from China, OK, not great. Illuminations started at 9:00pm, wonderful show. Get back to the hotel at 10:00pm. My feet are so swollen I barely make it up the stairs. Tomorrow, Universal Studios.

Wednesday April 13 2005 Day # 2

Woke up about 8:00am this morning. Got ready and left at 8:30am. Left the room and realized that my hubby left the room key in the room; we decide to wait and solve the problem when we get back. We have breakfast at Cracker Barrel, yummy! We arrive at Universal Studio’s at about 9:30am. We get a picture of the Aaron’s and Budweiser car, and a good one of the globe. We then spot Shrek and Fionna and decide the line is too long to see them. We head straight to Shrek 4D, the line was only 10 min. I find a stationary seat and hubby finds a moving seat. The show was great. We exit the room and realize our digital camera fell out of my hubby’s pocket. We go back in after the show is over, it’s GONE! Someone found our camera and kept it, all our pictures gone! Luckily we are only two days into the trip, we buy another disposable camera for $19, that’s a lot of money. Then we went to Mummy. My hubby did that while I waited. After he got off I got a picture with the pharaoh on stilts. The we went to Jaws, I waited again, took a picture with Jaws. Then to another ride, Men in black, I waited again and you guessed it, I got another picture. By now I am getting bored and hubby is getting hungry so we leave at about 2:00pm. I can’t do much of anything in Universal so it wasn’t much fun for me. We head to lunch at Chick-fil-A. In the parking lot we nearly get hit by and 18-wheeler with me still sitting in the passenger seat. When I get out the driver yells at ME! I enjoyed my lunch though. We get back to the hotel and look around the gift shop and get a key to our room. My feet are sooo swollen now. We left for Downtown Disney at about 4:30pm. We went into three shops, World of Disney, Pooh Corner, and Pin Traders. I spent $35 on a watch, $15 on a baby Eeyore and $25 on pins. Hubby says I am cut off from souvenirs until Friday when we get paid. We went to eat dinner at Angels Buffet. While standing at the buffet line an employee changed out a bin of food and it slipped and burned my hubby’s arm. Not a bad burn but good enough for free dinner. We leave the buffet and arrive back at the hotel at 8:30pm. Tomorrow Epcot, some time share thing, and a carriage ride. We are going back to Epcot to remake some pictures.

Thursday April 14 2005 Day #3

Woke up about 8:30pm and left the room, had breakfast at Chik-fil-A and head off to the parks. We park at Magic Kingdom and take the monorail to Epcot; I got to ride in the front of the monorail. We get a picture of the Epcot ball, see Mission Space and hubby rides Test track again. We then head to MK. We get there about 12:00pm and we ride Pirates of the Caribbean, was not smart for me. They do not warn expectant moms but it was very jerky. The we get lunch at Peco’s Bills and the go to see Philhars Magic. Then off to It’s a small world, that was torture. Its not 2:00pm and we have the Disney Vacation Preview at 4:00pm so we head of to Saratoga Springs. We get done with that at 5:00pm and head off to Fort Wilderness for our Carriage ride at 6:00pm. Get there to find out that it is not until 6:30pm, we get to ride early. I enjoyed it a lot but hubby was bored. After, we tried to find a horse to pet but couldn’t find even one. We leave at 7:30pm and head to the boardwalk for dinner. We chose Big River. Not impressed, home at 8:30pm with an upset stomach. Tomorrow pick up Mommy and Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios.

Friday April 15 2005 Day # 4

Woke up about 7:00am and got ready to pick up Mommy from the airport. Got to the airport and couldn’t find her. Finally found her around 9:00am one hour after the scheduled time. Head to the hotel to drop her stuff off. Get to AK at about 10:00am. Mom and Eddie ride Kilimanjaro Safari’s, they say they saw some nice animals. The we head off to Rafiki’s planet watch. I meet Rafiki, Pocahontas, and Stanley, I also get to play with a talking trash can. We go to affection section and pet some goats. Then we head off to Dinosaur for Mom and Eddie. They said it was a great ride. We eat Lunch at Restauranasaurus. Then I get to meet Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore. We watch Lion King and Its tough to be a bug. We leave at 3:30pm to go back to the hotel and get some rest. We head off to MGM at about 5:00pm, go to see Muppets 3D and ride the great movie ride. We have dinner at Catalina Eddie’s Pizza. Afterward we go claim out seats for Fantasmic, fantastic show. Home in bed by 11:30pm. Tomorrow Magic Kingdom.

Saturday April 16 2005 Day # 5

Woke up at 7:00am and my hubby is so excited and ready to go. We leave at about 8:30am; enter Magic Kingdom at about 9:00am. First thing we do is Stitches Escape, I loved it and so did my Mom, then off to Buzz Lightyears next, my Mom scored 45,000 my Hubby got 20,000 and I got(don’t laugh) 2,500, but I had fun. Next to Crystal Palace for our PS at 11:30am. Great food and I met Tigger, Piglet, Pooh, and Eeyore. We then head off to Frontier Land, Mom and hubby do Pirates again, I wait, then we head to the Haunted Mansion, I love that ride. We make our way down to Fantasy Land for Philhar Magic, Pooh Adventure, and Peter Pans Flight. The line for It’s a Small World was 45 minutes, oh darn, didn’t do that ride again. Then we head to toon town for Mom to meet Goofy and hubby to meet Donald. We also meet Minnie and Mickey. We head to the train at 4:15pm, we have to be at the Town Square at 4:45pm for the Flag Retreat, my Mom served 20 years in the Army and I am Active Duty. After the Flag Retreat we each get a certificate and a very rare pin. At 5:30pm the hubby goes to the car to retrieve jackets and pants, it takes him an hour. Mom and I shop while we are waiting for him. We claim our seats for Spectro Magic at about 7:00pm; it starts at 9:00pm. We get food and hubby goes shopping. We watch the parade and wishes which both seem shorter than last year. We get to the hotel around 11:45pm. Tomorrow Sea World and Victoria and Albert’s Chefs table.

Sunday April 17 2005 Day# 6

Woke up at about 8:00am, sea world opens later then the other parks. We get to Cracker Barrel for breakfast about 8:30am, to Sea World at about 9:30am. We get in the park and the first thing I schedule is the seal show Clyde and Seymour at 11:30am. Hubby tells us to keep walking, he’ll catch up, he never does and Mom and I get and hour to ourselves. We go to the Dolphin Cove and Mom gets to pet a Dolphin and her eyes light up like a Kid in a Candy Store. Off to Clyde and Seymour, hubby is sitting right next to the entrance of the show, its only 11:00am at this time so we go to the Penguin Empire so Mom can see the Puffins (she loves Puffins). Then we find a seat for Clyde and Seymour, that’s a funny show. I get to feed the seals for about 20 minutes, my heaven! We find out the Shamu show is at 12:45pm so we rush over there to see Shamu, an awesome display of trust between animal and trainer. We are all hungry but we don’t want to eat too much so we get burgers and then head to the Wild Arctic. Mom buys me a HUGE seal, I name it Clyde. Its 3:00pm, time to go get ready for Victoria and Albert’s, we have to be there by 5:45pm. On I-4 on the way back to the hotel we get into an accident, didn’t hit anything but the hubby had to slam on the breaks really hard. My mom held me back so I didn’t fly forward. We pulled over so the paramedics could check me; they heard a strong heart beat; my baby and I are just fine. We leave the site at 4:30pm; we are going to be late. No time for showers, we all just change and make ourselves look presentable. We actually get to V&A on time. The chef’s table is very different from the dinning room. The chef picks everything we eat and its 10 courses not 7. I’ll just give a short run down:
#1- a sampler of a lot of things.
#2- I got Lamb they got Lobster
#3- I got Buffalo they got Crab
#4- We all got baby chicken
#5- I got Pork they got Bass
#6- The pallet Cleanser, Rasberry Sherbet
#7- The main course called Kobe Beef, the BEST quality beef you’ll ever find ANYWHERE!
#8- A cheese platter
#9- A chocolate platter
#10- The dessert: Hubby got caramelized bananas and gelato, Mom got Soufflé, and I got Crème Brulee.
For those of you who know V&A you can just imagine the quality of food I got. For those of you who don’t know V&A this was and is the most fascinating experience. We get home about 10:00pm. Tomorrow, Mommy goes home.

Monday April 18 2005 Day #7

Woke up at 7:30am and got ready to take Mom to the airport. Get her to the airport at 9:00am, hugged good-bye and I left. I cried almost the whole way back to Disney World, the next time I see my Mommy, I’ll be a Mommy. I am VERY close to my Mom! We went to Magic Kingdom, got there about 10:00am and rode Buzz Lightyear again, we beat mom, Hubby got 75,000 and I got(again don’t laugh) 3,500. We saw Cindarellabration, great show. We got food from a counter service place, don’t remember where. Then hubby wanted to do the mountains so we got him fast passes. Went to the Tikki room then back to the Mountains. He did Thunder Mountain then Splash Mountain. We left at 2:00pm, went back to the hotel and packed up everything. Left for Downtown Disney at 4:30pm and bought a few things for friends, I got some more pins. W head off for dinner at Planet Hollywood, I was looking forward to the Captain Crunch Chicken fingers but they weren’t as good as I remember them. We get back home at about 8:30pm, and finish packing. Back to reality tomorrow.
