Did I miss a policy change on ticket expiration?

The Ticket Sticky has an Index which consists of links to the actual posts:
INDEX:
(Click on a heading below to be taken to its post.)
• General Ticket Information -Post 2
• Annual Passes -Post 3
• Special Tickets & Florida Resident Tickets -Post 4
• Upgrading Tickets -Post 5
• Age Categories (Tickets, Resorts and Dining) -Post 6
• Ordering Tickets -Post 7
• New Base Ticket Price Chart, After Feb. 12, 2017 -Post 8

Ticket Expiration is included in the General Ticket Information.

@Robo, the OP of the Sticky, keeps info current in the linked posts. Current info is required for Stickies - if for some reason a Sticky can no longer be maintained by the OP, the thread then no longer has Sticky-status.

That ticket sticky is almost too big for it's own good. Maybe it needs to have sub stickies or something, because I just tried to find something in it and quickly gave up. At over 100 pages that is a lot to look thru.
I was just going to point out what hiromyhero pointed out, that there is an index and everything important is found there. So it has exactly what you asked for, sub headings

To prevent them from having to allow you into the park after there have been significant price increases. Giving back the money, is a partial thing, but, unless they include interest on that money they are still ripping everyone off. They make it sound good though... "gee, we are giving you your money back so it's not like you will lose anything". I have very secure investments and still manage an average or 5% return. So if I invest $400.00 (+-) I want 5% more per year then I paid otherwise they are stealing my money. Then, I'm sure that they will allow me to repurchase another ticket at the higher price.

There are also accounting concerns, but, that is for their convenience not ours. Outstanding tickets are considered liabilities in accounting and are recorded that way and they artificially considered debt. Something they have to pay off, via services, in the future.
So just who has forced you to buy said ticket?

Wouldn't the expiration date have to be shown on the back of the ticket?

It is on the ticket.
But, many times, when guests purchase tickets via the phone or internet, they never even pick up an actual ticket.
They just use their MagicBands.

HOWEVER-

Below is a copy-and-paste of the very first set of disclaimers on the WDW Ticket order page
on their website (HERE):

Quote:

*Savings compared to the price of the same ticket sold at park ticket and Guest Relations windows; not applicable to Florida resident or annual passholder tickets/passes.

The 1-Day Ticket: Magic Kingdom Park is valid for one admission to Magic Kingdom park on a date that is valid for the ticket type (Peak, Regular or Value). This ticket must be used on or before December 31, 2018 and is not valid at Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.

The 1-Day Ticket: Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is valid for one admission to any one of these 3 parks on a date that is valid for the ticket type (Peak, Regular or Value). This ticket must be used on or before December 31, 2018 and is not valid at Magic Kingdom park.

Multi-day tickets are valid for one theme park per day for each day of the ticket. The first use must be on or before December 31, 2018.

Multi-day tickets and any options purchased must be used within 14 days of first use, except for Florida Resident 3-Day and 4-Day Tickets. Florida Resident 3-Day and 4-Day Tickets expire 6 months after first use. First use must occur on or before December 31, 2018.

I have a couple of sets of tickets with an expiry of December 2030, so I'm pretty sure I'm good until then. I wonder what RnR will be like when I'm 60!!

I'm sure there are Robo! I couldn't pass up the Canadian deal they had this year. 34% off and no expiry. Right before the Feb. rule went into effect. Now hopefully my DD9 will want to finally go on it by then!

I'm sorry, but accusing Disney of stealing your money, when the expiration date is set forth before you purchase tickets is absurd. You buy tickets for WDW to actually attend and enjoy. Not to make 5% ($20) on a measly $400.
Wanna bet that they made money on my $400.00. If it's alright with you to have someone use your money for whatever time, use it to make money and then just give you back your investment, then go for it. They cannot be non-refundable if they tell you that they will refund it if you don't use it by that date. Maybe it's because I remember back when they never expired no matter how many years you held on to them. It might have been a slight hyperbole when I seem to be upset about the, as you put it, $20.00, but, they are OK with using my money to make more profit so I'm not sure why, if I have purchased a service, it should ever be something that is unattainable.

Buying a theme park ticket is not and should never be considered an investment. You are not investing $400, you are spending $400.
I am spending the $400.00 for a service that they are refusing to give me. I didn't pay that much money for a piece of paper. I paid to be admitted to a park. I kept my part of the deal, by paying them money... I expect them to hold up there end with little or no hassle.

How are the refusing to give it to you? Do you expect a refund if you buy tickets to the theater or concert then decided you can't or don't want to go? All of these tickets say non-refundable and then have terms. Disney's new terms are 1st use must be by Dec 31, 2018. So you have a year and a half to use them. They sren't stopping you from accessing the park. It isn't their fault if you end up not being able to go. So either book a package that can be canceled or don't buy tickets until you are 100% sure you can go.

If you don't use it by the expiration date, they are holding up their end as the terms are disclosed. You might not like it but they are keeping their part of the deal.

The point is, you should be buying the tickets to use them. It's simple. You pay for tickets. They provide service. Nothing unattainable about it. And, they aren't refusing you anything. Don't buy tickets until you know you can use them.

Do you complain about the grocery store when you don't use the milk before it expires? Or are you buying your milk to hold onto before they raise the price?

Next time my milk expires, maybe I'll try to return it toward a newer gallon.

That's not how this works... that's not how any of this works.

They ARE holding up their end of the deal. You gave them money for tickets that expire on a specific date. If they are not used by that date, that is 100% your fault and no one elses. That is the contract. If you don't like the terms and conditions of the contract, then you can just not buy the product. It's that simple. But you can't buy the product, knowing the terms and conditions, and then whine and complain that you didn't get what you wanted and that the other person broke said contract.

I'll let you know. I'll be riding RnR next week with my gray hair blowing in the wind!
