did i make a mistake choosing biergarten for xmas eve?

We liked Biergarten and have booked it again for our next trip. We chatted with our neighbors but nothing overly intrusive or taxing, just some polite chitchat at the beginning. Although my dad and one of the other guys talked each other's ears off about retirement in Florida from northern states, the rest of us focused on our food and the entertainment.

My folks took my nephew there a couple of months later and they were seated with 2 other couples. Turns out that ALL of the adults grew up in nearby towns in Massachusetts back in the '30s and '40s- really freaky. They had a blast and my poor nephew had to hear all about the olden days. (But he did like the food.)

I think most people are able to figure out how much or how little you want to interact and let you be, if that's your choice. We've never met any super weirdos and to be fair, they do tell you over & over before you are seated that you will be at tables with other people.

1) OOPS !
2) You just made a mistake.
3) You WILL sit next to and/or across from other families at thw same table.
4) It is a beer hall environment.

Yeah...but it's not like its at the Detroit Greyhound station....

What's the one thing that all WDW travelers have in common?

they all can afford it (or at least they can until the mastercard is locked out)

That guarantees a certain level of clientele that shouldn't cause too much tension at a shared table.

I am really shy in person and wasn't sure how I was going to like sitting with other people. Last Christmas Eve, we sat with a really nice couple and their adult children from Canada, it was alot of fun. The older gentleman was in a similar type of work as DH, so there was a great conversation, they almost had to make us leave.

I wasn't sure I would like the food as I am not really a sausage kinda person, but I found plenty to eat, especially the Salmon.

We are going to eat there again this Christmas Eve for lunch.

Let's not knock the Detroit Greyhound Station . . .
. . . it does have food, although a few days old
. . . it does have entertainment, the three-drunks-trio in the corner humming/moaning
. . . it does have friendly people, as there are lots of folks happily leaving town
. . . it does have ambiance, I love the smell of diesel fuel in the morning
