Did I Make a Huge Mistake?

We own points at SSR and have stayed they 4+ times. Our kids love the pool and the Artist Palette restaurant. The rooms are very nice and we've never been disappointed.

I'd take SSR over BLT anyday! OKW has huge rooms, you'll be very happy there! You would have been very happy at SSR too, personally, I like it better as the OKW rooms we've been in are really showing wear, of course they are redoing or have already redone them at this point. You need to visit SSR to make your own decisions. Don't rely on what you read on the message boards. If you were to read what I have to say about BLT, it is this... IMHO BLT is butt ugly and we have absolutely no interest in ever staying there! Honestly, if by some odd chance that were the only DVC with rooms left, we would probably pay cash and stay somewhere else.

SSR is my sec fav resort. I LOVE being "stuck" there. Ask for Springs, or Congress Park for room request. I think some of the SSR haters, are stuck in Car. section. I was there 1st trip and was a hater, due to location. 2nd-5th trip I loved it, and my Aug trip I picked it over AK, WL, and OKW having availabity.

It is diff than BLT, but not "worse". Some need conv of monorail, but I would prefer family in 1 room, to saving 20 mins of time on MK/ Epcot days. Also SSR is closer travel time to HS, and AK. Artists Pallet is a perfect, perfect, perfect morning. Coffee, in an atmosphere of beauty.

Feel lucky to be with your fam for spring break. YOU WILL love it.

We LOVE the location of BLT--you can't beat walking to MK, but I have to say SSR is BEAUTIFUL!!! I think it gets a bad rap, since you need to take a bus everywhere.

We've stayed there twice now and we are heading back to SSR on Tues for a short trip!

Don't knock it til you tried it!

I agree with many posters here. I would rather be at any hotel/dvc resort than not be there at all.

Also - don't be surprised if you start comparing it to BLT which is fine - but each one is unique in it's own way. We have enjoyed each resort we have stayed in for different reasons and we always miss the other ones.

Relax and enjoy - you will be back.

Hey Anna, I am staying at BCV in Oct (9th to 16th....8th also if my waitlist comes through) - and I grew up in Staten Island! Went to Port Richmond!

I haven't stayed at SS - but toured there when we bought into AKL. The big advantage I see over BLT is you get to "get away" from the rush and bustle of the parks themselves. You get to stay in a beautiful, graceful, relaxing resort and then just hop the bus to all the excitement. For me, personally, that's better than being in the heart of it 24/7!
