Just some of advice from someone who has been a manager for 15 years...
Keep quiet as much as possible and don't repeat what you hear from others. This gains you respect and trust from your peers and superiors. Once you lose those, you won't gain much else in your tenure at ANY job.
Your actions will state far more than any words ever can.
BTW, I am curious about the kids, too...no pictures, no mention of how they fared with the hurricane headed towards them, even though the question has been asked by many posters.
