Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

I'm talking about the other people posting on here saying they were told something different than you. That's their "report". We have no way to validate that it actually happened that way.

I agree with you on this! Looking forward to finding out for myself firsthand in 11 days!

FWIW, no law degree here either, I just googled it, then gave it my own flair! ;)

Anything to hurt the double and triple dippers. Now they need to make sure the FP kiosks stop accepting old KTTK cards

Oh, am I going to think of you with every single fast pass I get with my KTTW card...

I'm almost afraid to ask with all the tension, but I'm a little confused. To me, this sounds like its only going to affect people using FP+. We're not doing FP+, and have tickets that are seperate and not linked, so we'll still be receiving KTTW cards correct? And are we assuming those won't work in the FP machines? Any speculation on whether KTTW cards from previous years/trips will still work?

I know its early but I just want to make sure I understand. Thanks for any help! :)

I'd bet UT tickets linked to MBs will still work even if they stop distributing FP enabled KTTW cards. Would love to hear some feedback on this after the 27th.

To add to this, if the paper style tickets work or if you have to exchange them for the RFID style.

Easy, boy. Nothing has happened yet. That is a full five days away. You can stay awake tonight knowing over the next five days people will be double and triple dipping until their hearts are content, then after the five days a great many people still might be doing it.

Also, for all we know at that point they may increase the FP+ allotment. I just cannot fathom Disney giving a resort guest fewer Fast Passes than non resort guests. Just won't happen.

You need to exchange "paper" for new plastic RFID tickets. Free at any ticket booth.

For the life of me I don't understand why double dipping using the KTTW card issued at check in is considered cheating. I do agree that using old cards could be viewed as abusing the system though. Just really hope the MBs and FP+s work for those folks not getting a KTTW card. I know I would be a tad frustrated if mine don't work and I would expect some sort of apology.

I am so curious about why there are so many of these people out there that are so upset with the whole double dipping thing....obviously they are not staying at a Disney resort, so they seem to think that its SOOO not fair to the so called "double Dippers" get to get more then 2 bf's a day. From the way I am hearing it, the people that get FP+ get a total of 3 FP's a day for one park. Now the last time I was at Disney I was able to get three FP before noon and probably closer to 10 per day by the time I was done, plus I could go to more then one park and get FP's if I hopped. How is it fair that everyone else can get as many FB's as they want but people paying more money to stay with Disney get less. The whole system still needs to get everything worked out, which I am sure it will. I for one think that being able to pick 3 FB a head of time should be a perk for resort guests, not a punishment.

PS I'm sure these are going to be the same people freaking out the Deluxe resort guest get more FB's then value resort guests.

Maybe its me, I just don't get all the negative talk about those BAD double dippers

Precisely. And considering they told me specifically, on more than one occasion, that I not only could, but should use my KTTW card to obtain additional fast passes, so we wouldn't be limited to just 3 per day, I hardly think it's cheating, abusing the system, scamming, circumventing, manipulating or whatever other term for it some people want to throw out.

And when you combine that with the fact that Disney is distributing surveys asking people if they used paper fast passes in combination with FP+ (and if you did, they're are even more questions for you) it's obvious Disney knows people are doing it, they even expect it!

I couldn't agree more. On the bright side (always trying to be an optimist) if I'm unable.to pull FP_, I might be able to ride each headliner twice in a row when others are still in the FP line. I will still be at RD regardless and I still plan on running, well in my case jogging, to TSMM and Soarin'. All I can say is that I do hope my FP+ ressies in the afternoon at the park I'm hopping to work. I just fear that is a big "hope" at this point in time.

Josh's latest blog post at easywdw claims: "And if you really want to flip out over the current state of things, Disney is distributing Key to the World cards that don’t work in the legacy FASTPASS system to resort guests using FASTPASS+" Can anyone who arrived in the last 24-48 hours confirm?

I can confirm that both systems worked today. I had an issue in changing times with fast pass + but was able to pull a paper fast pass with my KTTW card

This whole thread reminds me of the threads about using FP after the expiration time when Disney not only allowed it, but encouraged it.

:thumbsup2 I agree completely. If I'm paying to stay on site and for hoppers, and willing to get up early and take advantage of EMH, then I should be able to utilize my FP for more than one park, and for the same ride more than once, neither of which I can do with only FP+ . My family loves to ride Soarin and TSM multiple times, and w/o "double dipping" , we will have to rush at RD to be able to get on once standby, and that will be it if we want to hop, because we will need to book FP+ for the later park so we can get on any major rides. They need to work this out, as I have planned more than ever for this trip, and feel like I will be able to do less at this pt. Don't get me wrong - I am coming back at Thanksgiving to enjoy the decorations and lights, and I know this will be magical no matter what:santa:, and also trying AKL for a few days, so it may end up being more resort time and less park time(which Disney should translate as less $$ ).

I'm not a rocket scientist or anything...just so we are all clear here. But if I was one then I would assume that the Resorts that started testing the band EARLY would be among the first to be weaned from the Magic Flat Cards.

Like I said, I am not a rocket scientist but I am good at math. But since I have to do math every single day I will let someone else do it. :rolleyes1

It's too early to know. Disney seems to keep changing things at a lightning speed now so anything could happen.

I agree that using the cards along with FP+ is not illegal double dipping because Disney allowed it. Disney's IT department is interesting to say the least but I believe that they are fully aware of what people are doing. Of course, they might have trouble getting them to stop but that's another issue. ;)

People keep saying that using only FP+ and not being allowed to use FP- is so unfair because then those people could pull more than 3. Not likely. EVERYONE seems to want TSM and Soarin' and those are very difficult to get with regular fastpasses. They might be able to pull more but I doubt that they can for anything in high demand.

Well, I am feeling super glad that I booked a resort-only reservation and bought my tickets from Undercover Tourist. If this report about only being issued MagicBands and thus being unable to pull FP- like guests not staying in Disney resorts is true, then I will opt to not link my UCT tickets to my MagicBand. I will not have 3 FP+ daily, but I will get the opportunity to pull as many FP- as possible just like I have always done.

The FP+ was so messed up when we tested it. We lost a lot of valuable time being made to leave a FP entrance, walk to GS to have their error corrected, then walk back to FP entrance. Imagine the walk from SM to GS at the beginning of Main Street and then back again. Not good. Our problem, repeatedly, was one or more family members [never the same one(s)] would not register at the FP+ entrance while the rest of the family did. Having set up the passes for everyone myself I know that it was entered correctly. GS could never say why this glitch occurred, but I can tell you it was frustrating and took up too much of our touring time. These glitches have not been fixed. I know this because I have been reading of others having the same problem we did. So to hear that some guests may be forced to use a system that isn't working is disconcerting.
