Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

I read on the Pop resort thread that they "couldn't" print KTTW cards one day and that people could not get into their rooms with their MBs, access their dining plans, get into the parks, etc. Some of the people just couldn't get into their rooms. These poor people spent hours trying to get the problems fixed. I'm paying a fortune for this vacation, I will be seriously angry if Disney messes with my vacation to test out their system.

Say it ain't so! I am also staying at pop late nov. Hoping they have the bugs worked out by then.

We will be checking in on the 31st. We will have annual passes .
This should be interesting

NO! I want a Mickey shaped rice krispy on a stick! And I'm going to have one (several) in 11 days!

Wow gonna be interesting. I'm there stating the 26 gonna be very interesting .. Will report back ..

Yeah, interesting indeed. After reading all the problems with MBs and FP+, and now the only option to save us without all the glitches and problems being taken away? In-ter-est-ing.

We arrive on the 27th. Guess I'll post about what happens when we check in around 4-5PM EST.

This is 100% NOT true. Any CMs saying otherwise are misunderstanding something or were trained by people misunderstanding something.

I cannot prove it because I had no printer ink at the time, don't know how to do a screenshot, can't "save" Flash on my computer, AND didn't think to take a picture, but when I went through the process to get MBs and do FP+ reservations, it STATED quite clearly that testers would be able to use BOTH.

Because that is the only way it makes sense. You can't have people test a halfdone system and not give them something that will actually works OR without compensating them. And they weren't doing that.

If they didn't want it to work, they wouldn't have ALLOWED their machines to work with those cards.

You read that and think "oh it's changed".

I read it and think "someone got a bad card and freaked out and thinks it's for everyone now".

Actually it is true, the official policy regarding FP+ is you get one or the other. The few cast members saying you can use both are misinformed or don't care. But the policy is what it is.

If they stop issuing KTTW to some people but not all, would that mean that an AP or separate ticket (UT, etc.) would still work for FP-? I do not think I would even need FP- if we could just use FP+ at more than one park per day.

This happened at POR on Saturday. Our MB worked but the front desk was surprised that they did. We didn't get KTTW cards.

We used our KTTW, switched resorts, today at AK for the safari. It didn't really matter because the line to get into the FP line was so long they weren't having anyone scan their bands and they weren't checking paper FP.

From what we have seen so far, regular FP doesn't help you at all. The paper FP for the headliner have been gone too fast. We haven't been able to change our FP+ on the fly as easily as others have reported. I checked yesterday to change a 10 am FP+ at AK and it told me no rides were available. Not even Tough to be a bug that only had a 10 minute wait the whole morning. We saw this in MK as well. We had IT look into it since it seemed weird that we can never change to earlier or same time FP+. IT agreed that it was weird but didn't have an explanation.

I am not sure we are fans of FP+ since it doesn't have the ability to change them as easily as Disney wants you to believe. We tried to change a FP+ to Spaceship Earth yesterday and could only get late afternoon. Standby line was 20 minutes so we didn't really need FP but wanted to try it. Only saw one family use the FP return line.

That was actually a challenge with the door access system that affects any MB and KTTW that checked in while the system was down. It's not NGE Related.

Something similar happened to our friends at the Poly. They were issued KTTW cards as back ups to their Magic Bands, but neither worked for their room, dining plan, park admissions, or charging. They spent a couple of hours trying to get in their room, as they were sent back and forth from the front desk. They wound up going to a park on temporary tickets and paper fast passes to replace their FP+ that could not be accessed. Couldn't use their dining plan for their meal because the computer had them as not having the plan. Didn't get their bands/KTTW working at all until the next day (let them manually in the room to go to bed). Even then they still had issues with them for another day or two.

Inaccurate, I've heard several cm say specifically. Not just one! The latest was a manager in IT!

Where is the official policy stated? Can you please show us this supposed policy that doesn't exist, because if it did, Disney wouldn't be sending out surveys asking if people used fp+, legacy fp, combination of fp+ and legacy fp (with specific questions pertaining to your usage if you did use both!)

Out of curiosity - why weren't you able to cancel them? Lack of a smart phone or were you having issues with the app?

I agree with you... I know paper FPs never overlapped but I have been finding it hard to plan on us utilizing all three FP+ choices in a day. If I do them back to back, I feel like we'll be killing time in between and if I try to spread them out, it just interferes with our breaks and meals :confused3

PP - Yup, I linked my AP to my MB online and so when I entered the park I just scanned my MB at the turnstiles, but even though I hadn't used my plastic AP card to enter the park, it still let me use the FP machines. When I checked into POP earlier today, I pre-emptively asked for a KTTW card but the CM told me she'd absolutely give me a KTTW as well, as it was still in the testing phase.

I couldn't reschedule my FP+'s because the response I kept getting was "no other experience times available" - I wish I could have just cancelled them but the only options I could see were either to change the times (not available) or change to different attractions (not available).

But thus far for me, double dipping has absolutely been possible although I've yet to utilize either for myself.

I do think without a smartphone you'd be at a disadvantage - while I saw the usual FP- machines in the usual spots, I didn't see anywhere to change FP+. I presume the machines are out there, but they're not obvious, to me at least

Yesterday at MK I was able to pull fast passes with band and with annual passes and with cards my daughter collected which were a year old. But I didn't try at Epcot today.

People don't need to pull a zillion fastpasses with every past KTTW card they've ever had. However if they can then it's on Disney to correct that.

I'd be surprised if they would take legacy fastpass access only from some people and not everyone. That seems very unfair.

Yes let's not take any personal responsibility for our own actions on this one. I agree Disney should fix it IF it is in fact their intent. But personal responsibility has to come into play here even if only 5%. LOL

I'm not sure why people think that someone double (triple?) dipping might mean that people are somehow hoarding hundreds of FP's for every line. I have FP+, my AP and my KTTW card and I've yet to do anything but walk onto a standby line. Thus far the only FP's I got to test it out, I gave away!

Which is probably one of the reasons behind FP+, Disney is correcting it, everyone now get 3 a day and they are tracked electronically.... and judging by the DIS most people (or at least the vocal people) hate it so Postal68's post is right on the money, these people are ruining others trips.

I don't see that FP+ is related to this. The old system was very orderly and easy to understand for those that tried. It definitely wouldn't work if you tried to use old KTTW cards which seems to be an odd feature of the current system during FP+ implementation. :confused3
