Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

So, it's 10:14 at Epcot and Test Track and Soarin' are both out of fastpasses already, and yet Mission Space is fine.

All attractions at the MK seem to be fine, with FP return times all within an hour.

And AK doesn't seem abnormal.

My question is , what is up with TSMM, Test Track, and Soarin'? There is something weird happening there.

Just because you don't see it as a huge issue doesn't mean that it isn't.

Just because you see it as a huge issue doesn't mean that it is.

My point is that I was there last week and there were plenty of FP available for late in the day. If that is the case, there are not a whole lot of people double dipping.

Those of you there now, please keep the reports coming re: using kttw for Fast Passes along with FP+!

We are leaving next week and would like to know if this is going to be a possibility.

Thank you!:thumbsup2

The problem is limited headliners at DHS and Epcot. Everyone picks TSM at DHS for FP+ and Soarin and Test Track for Epcot. Not all ppl pick ToT and RnR because of height restrictions, fear factor, or health issues. During busy season, you might as well call those 3 rides FP+ exclusive rides. They need more balance at those parks.

So what's the latest on "double dipping"? We are going to MK on Sunday, have our FP+ rides lined up, but will "old" card APs work too? :rolleyes1

LOL... let us know. Bring every old card you have and see how many FPs you can get.

Well, those rides must be picked off FP+. I'm surprised by how many people are using it already because I know someone working the FP kiosk at MK and they say most people don't know anything about FP+.

I think there's a small number of you referring to the use of old cards as double dipping. Most people are using that term to refer to use of FP+ and use of FP- with the resorts keys they are issued for the current trip at the same time.

Agreed. It might be tough for Test Track, but wouldn't building a second Soarin' and TSM to double capacity be cheaper than all this silly fastpass manipulation business that could potentially upset a lot of customers?

That poster I quoted specifically asked if OLD cards were working.

I understand what is meant by double dipping. This (using old cards) was recently brought up on this thread in the last few pages and to me, is another whole issue altogether.

This was the pp question:

I'll be sure to do that.

Maybe I used the term "double dipping" wrong - we have Magic Bands with our APs attached which we will use to get in. We also have our original card APs.

Sorry...didn't know this was such a touchy subject! It would be easy for them to "correct" if Disney saw it as a problem.

I will not be bringing any old kttw cards next week. However, I really hope to be able to use my current kttw card for FPs, along with FP+.

If not, I'll plan accordingly. Thank goodness for FP+, though. That will save us! I do not expect light crowds at all!

I'll be sure to do that.

Well you said "old" cards, that's why I said that.

I put "old" in quotes for a reason - they are old in the sense that we don't use the card APs anymore since they are now attached to the Magic Bands. It would be the same as someone using their resort card.

Sorry you misunderstood was I was asking. Thanks for the snarky response.

It has been reported that this feature has been turned off during the past couple of months.

We were there October 7-12. We had magic bands, and tried to use our KTTW cards and APs to pull paper FPs. It worked the first day and after that I would get a ticket saying this ticket has not used for admission and fast pass cannot be issued or something like that.

We gave up

I would be interested to see the "show up rate" for those FP+ picks. I bet that many ppl pick them, and then don't use them. Disney can't account for that, if they are picked prior to use, they have to assume they will show up for their times. I bet many ppl waste them. Not everyone is as savvy as us Disers. LOL

We were there October 5-13. The KTTW cards we were were issued at check in worked to pull regular FPs all week. I had brought our KTTW cards from our last trip, just to see if it was true that they would work in the FP machines- I didn't plan on actually triple dipping, but I wanted to know if it was possible. I tried one once and it did not work in the machines- we would get a ticket saying it was "Not Valid for Fast pass". I have seen since that it may be that if your old KTTW cards had tickets on them they will not work, but if they were room key only that they might work, but I can't verify if that is true. All I can verify is that old KTTW cards that had room and tickets on them don't.

OMG, seriously? That's why I put "glitches" in quotes. I know what a glitch is. Let me break it down for you. Part of the PROBLEMS now are that people are using the system, whether being told by a CM that it's ok or not, incorrectly. You shouldn't be able to stick a year old KTTW in a machine and get a FP. Like I said before, just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. People are bragging about it on here all the time. Telling others to do it. Then those people do it and tell their friends. You honestly don't think that part of the problems and reasons that there are no FPs available is because people brought every KTTW card they had stashed at home and are trying to get a FP with it? Forget being told by a CM it's ok to use your AP or RFID card. This is a whole different issue. ETA... I would have no problems with people using their CURRENT KTTW card or AP, but being able to stick old cards in there and have it give you a FP is cheating the system. Anyone who says otherwise, needs to take a look at their ethics.

Ok so I misunderstood you no big deal. But I do agree bringing and using old KTTW cards is wrong...
