Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

I don't believe this rumour. Why would they penalise FP+ testers who have bought Disney packages, whilst people who have bought room only and their own tickets can still use legacy fastpass (and FP+)?

Not sure what is going on. Maybe it is just the app. When Katie made her post about getting FP I checked my touringplans app and both Soarin' and TT had good FP return times....10 to 11 a.m. I just check again at 9:10 and it says that TT FPs are gone. Can that be right???? :scared1:

ETA: It just changed to FP return times of 6:35.

Ok here since last Wed. We do not like to plan and had been doing the FP+ because you have too. so do it the night before or morning. Fine first few days getting something. Last night different story NO TSM for Tues or Wed. and only one on Thurs was 6 something? So for us this is just not going to work at all and from what a CM told me they are going to add AP holders into to this system too. I do not see any pretty out come for us and non planners who will not wait on a line more than 30. In the past we have used FP and been able to do everything fine. Yesterday was at MK used our FP+ at SM and TM did stand by and 2 other FP ran around park getting to the times aloted on FP+ and eventually left with one FP+ unused for ride at 1:30 and went back to Boardwalk to eat and never went back to park. Kinda discouraged after all this. :scared1:

Have you SEEN this happening or are you just HEARING about it from these boards.

I've just returned and I really don't see this as an issue at all.

How would you know what KTTW cards people are using? Unless you're standing over someone's shoulder asking to see their card they're sticking in the machine, no one would actually SEE it happen. LOL So yes. Hearing from someone on hear claiming that they are sticking old cards in and that they are working... good enough for me to know it's happening.

Just because I haven't seen it happen, doesn't mean it's not. People are bragging about it all over the place on here. Are you calling all of them liars?

LOL, my friend who is at Disney now, just sent me a pic of the FP return time at TSM. It's 9:20 and FP return time is 6:25 to 7:25. They'll be gone by 9:30 is my prediction.

The farthest FP- return time I'm seeing is 2:15 for Soarin. It's 9:16 eastern

It is EMH at Epcot on Tues When we went I think it was Sun with FP+ at Soarin at 10.30 the FP machine was showing return time of 5:55 and while we were waiting like 10 min for our time it was up to 6:30 and there really didn't seem like there were many people heading over to the machines?

Nothing to deal with. The ride has a certain number if people per hour who ride. If two FP+ go unused, two more standby people will ride. It's not like if you don't use a fast pass a ride vehicle gets sent with an empty seat.

Of course this is true, but is this the intention of FP+? To make the standby lines less crowded?? :confused3

I'm not sure this is 100% true. Maybe at the end of the night it might make a difference. But there is always someone in the FP line and CMs have no way of knowing that at 5:59 a party of 6's FP+s just expired unused and let 6 extra people from the standby on the ride. They have an idea of how many FP and how many SB guest they are going to let on the ride and since there is always someone in the FP line, that shouldn't change until the end of the night once the FP is empty. So it may speed of the FP line but I'm not sure it will make that much difference in the SB line until much later in the night.

Does anyone else think this is the way it will be??

I've thought about this and I think you're right mom2mickeyfan.

The FP lines will just move faster. It won't affect the standby lines at all.

Now that the masses are pouring in from the front gates all the times have jumped to 7 pm and beyond (TSMM, TT, Soarin) and it's not even 9:30.

Disney, please stop spending so much money on tracking and start building more rides!

Yes this! If you even look at the MK Fastpass returns right now...all totally normal, because there are more than 1 or 2 top rides in that park.

The problem is not FP or FP+...the problem is that Epcot and DHS don't have enough to do.

Wait times were the same as always when I went last week. FP return times were the same as always last week. That speaks for itself.

I realize they have been running out quicker this week. I think that Disney has been adjusting the system this week as more FP+ people are being added.

Honestly, you should read posts more carefully before jumping down my throat. I've never said that nobody is double/triple dipping. I know some people are. I just don't see it as a huge issue. The issue, is that there are fewer FP's available because of more people being added to FP+, plain and simple.

I'm reading posts just fine. Thanks. I don't really see where I jumped down your throat, sorry you took it that way.

Just because you don't see it as a huge issue doesn't mean that it isn't.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the bolded being "the issue". I don't doubt that's part of it, but people double dipping is part of it as well. Along with probably a multitude of other problems. The problem with your logic is that there are still the same number of guests in the park. Whether they are using FP, FP+ or standby, it would still be the same amount of people.

We just got back and if you are park hopping, FP+ wouldn't work well by itself. I was never able to make changes to my FP+ options, so I was stuck with what I picked months ago. I kept getting a blip in the system or no other options available. So, if we rode a ride standby that we had a FP+ for, we couldn't change it. I had all my FP+ for the afternoon park, so we relied on legacy FP for the morning park. This would have been a bust if we couldn't use them. I think that if we go again and they only have FP+, I wouldn't get hoppers because of being only able to get FP+ in one park.

This right here is what scares me about the whole system. I cannot imagine the Wifi infrastructure being able to handle holiday crowds. I just see it crashing due to traffic.

So, at 9:50 TSMM has no fastpasses available. However, other headliners like ToT, RnR, and Star Tours all have regular fastpass available with less than an hour return time.

Curious, do you think most folks are using Disney WiFi? I still have unlimited data thru my cell carrier and very seldom use WiFi.....only when out of country so I don't have to pay roaming. I have had no problems with MDE and changing FP+ around. Was wondering if folks were having problems b/c of the app or too many folks taxing the system.

IDK how accurate the app is, if it's behind or whatnot, but MDE says TSMM FP return is for (an odd time?) 7:20-8:00pm

So what's the latest on "double dipping"? We are going to MK on Sunday, have our FP+ rides lined up, but will "old" card APs work too? :rolleyes1

Most people do not have unlimited data now.
