Did cancellation policy change to 24 hours?

I thought I read yesterday that Disney changed their free cancellation to 24 hours, like Universal has. I can't find it on their website. Is that correct? I am really getting concerned with the spike in COVID cases that our late July trip may not happen.... :(
 

When we called last week, the CM told us we could cancel up to the day before...actually had two different CMs tell us this.

I called on Tuesday and the CM told me 30 days to avoid.a cancelation fee. I am not to concerned Disney seems to have been very responsive to guests needs and issuing refunds. It was no problem to get a refund for my May trip, but it was during the closure. I would just like statements and policies to be consistent for guests.
 
As far as my account goes all my trip has been paid in giftcards so they still win if I cancel or not. They have been so nice scheduling and rescheduling again. I always book direct from here forward.

Your CM gave you the old package cancellation date of 30 days. This was pre-pandemic.
I would just like statements and policies to be consistent for guests.
It is still a very dynamic situation and guests, CM, and GS reps are making simple mistakes and errors which should be expected at this time. The official policies have been posted by Disney on their web site and have continued to update as the situation continue to change.

Thanks for the link and information, Dave. Much appreciated - I know cast members are doing the best that they can with the situation - not blaming them. But, I do wish that Disney could provide a link from your resort reservation on MDE to the latest policies.
 
Arrivals thru October 3 can change or cancel until the date of arrival without penalty. Some people may be hearing different information because their trips are scheduled after that date.

same here! Also used gift cards (for gas points, thought it was so genius at the time.) Regardless I just cxld, covid is way too high, I'm not willing to risk that in addition to the restricted vacation. As others have said, Disney will accept cancellation with 24 hrs notice. All the best to you!

The CM’s really need to study the new policies. Half of them tell the wrong information. You would think they would be trained better.
