Did anyone watch Wife Swap? (Gay Couple & Republican Couple)

The same husband who went to a gay bar for dance lessons, who welcomed the woman into his house and allowed her to interact with his children with no restrictions. Always thought actions spoke louder than words and given the situation at the restuarant maybe he didn't have a chance to speak up. Maybe he was so taken aback by his wife's attack that he didn't know what to say, maybe he is whipped and was afraid of his wife, maybe he did say something but the producers chose not to show it thus feeding the masses "controversial" TV. The fact remains that despite what his wife said, the man and his three children were very nice and respectful of Chris and open to her rules. Again Actions speak louder than words and I think the actions of the husband and the three children basically show true Christian values.

He did say something, Christine was grasping at straws, she told Chris "your husband knows what I am like, I am sure he does not feel that way"

Then the husband DID speak, this is what he said "Now wait a minute, she is just being a protective mother"

Yup, I agree, it seems the husband is afraid of his wife.

I saw this episode, and it really upset me. Christian or not, that woman was horrible. And manipulative! She tried to bribe the daughter of the lesbian couple with a tiara and "princess" day. After her being so mean to her mother, it just seemed so incredibly false, like she was playing directly to the camera. That woman should have a lot of explaining to do to her own children now to explain her poor behavior.

If she is the norm, then I'm scared.

Would that be the same husband that sat there and said NOTHING the entire time his wife was berating those women?

WE don't know for sure that he didn't say anything. They could have cut that part out. You can't believe everything you see on TV, especially with reality TV shows.

And by the way did anyone notice how "common" she became when she began cussing the lesbian couple out…..straight back to her roots if you ask me.

What is this statement suppose to mean? You sound like you are not very tolerant of other people, especially African-Americans. I am a Christian and I found this women not to be the norm. Since you do think this in the norm maybe you should get out a little bit more.

My take (armchair physiatrist that I am) is that the Christian woman (who also happened to b e black) was just oozing with self loathing!!!

I wasn't sure until she told the lesbian that "you could pretend to not be gay, but I can't pretend to not be black".

Wha-what-WHAT??? Why would she want to pretend to not be black? Although I might as she was doing a pretty good job of it….I come from a pretty WASP-y New England family and she was "whiter" than all of us!

And by the way did anyone notice how "common" she became when she began cussing the lesbian couple out…..straight back to her roots if you ask me.

On last thing, when she accused them of "shaking up". How I wish one of the other woman would have asked- are you implying that we ought to be able to marry?

Wha-what-WHAT??? do you mean she act "whiter" and "straight back to her roots"
Tell me do you think because she's black-she's her own woman- has a mind of her own- GOT BLING- and married to a white man considered stepping away from her roots :rotfl:

I'm sorry but you remind me of a silly "Wasp-y New England Billy" who think only black folk eat chicken and watermelon :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The next time I go to KFC I'm going to ask why don't they have a "FOR BLACKS ONLY" advertised on the front door.
Thank God people who think like you are slowly but surely fazing out

The show is pretty sensational, but for my part the conservative family coincided perfectly with what I imagine to be the 'norm' for the segment of our country.

Well that is a very prejudiced and judgemental close-minded statement.

Oh that was awful. I don't usually watch that show, but just happened to catch glimpses of it and couldn't turn it off. I couldn't believe how that self-proclaimed good christian woman treated the others. She was depraved.
Lora, this conservative christian woman (in a bi-racial marriage) who kept flaunting her wealth swapped with a lower-class lesbian couple. This woman said horrible things to the lesbians and really treated them awfully. All the while tauting what a good christian woman she was with good values. :sad2:
She was AWFUL!!! :sad2: I couldn't STAND her. The husband was a jerk, too. Poor kids, I feel sorry for them.

I think that hypocritical "christian" needs something "excellant" (her favorite word) shoved up a not so excellant place. :rolleyes1
If I heard that word ONE MORE TIME . . . Sorry, NOTHING excellent about her! Absolutely NOTHING!!

I was disappointed that the husband stayed silent through the whole thing.
I was SCREAMING at the TV, "Say something to your "wife" you idiot!!! What a WIMP!!! No wonder he got stuck with her, no one else would take him, no matter how much money he makes!!

For the life of me I can't imagine why folks continue to put forth that Gay is a choice?!?
:sad2: I don't know either?!? Living in the dark ages perhaps?

YUP!!! Straight back to her roots!!! You can dress her up, give her some money, but she's still a WITCH. She showed her TRUE COLORS at the end of the show . . . THAT'S FOR SURE!! On TV for EVERYONE to see, too!! Guess she wasn't thinking about the consequences of her words!! I'm sure everyone in her church is so proud to be associated with her. If they were smart, they would ask her NOT to return. :sad2:

Yep she may have been nasty, but that doesn't mean she is representing her church. SHE is her own person...She has a right to believe gay people are immoral just as some here choose not to believe in GOD. That's her choice.

BTW, there are ALOT of "witches" that post not so nice things on here so what does that say about their "ROOTS"

:earseek: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Why should the church ask her to leave? Shouldn't the pastor or one of the deacons speak to her about her attitude and judgmental ways?

:rotfl: :goodvibes :rotfl:... UM NO!

If that's the case the PASTORS/DEACONS/MINISTERS would have to speak to "EVERY"member in their church since "NON OF US ARE SIN FREE" including YOU!
As far as her leaving the church, let's be real here. If you think she should leave the church for her actions then shouldn't you ask your church to banish you for your sins and mistakes as well?

Since non of us are SIN FREE shouldn't the same thing go for you, me and everyone else

She has to answer to GOD for her actions just as you, me and everyone else.

Believe it or not I agree with you.
I posted the ROTFL guy in my other post because I agree with your comment about the "witches" here showing their "roots" and thought it was funny.

I was responding to Jackie (I should have quoted her) when I asked about the pastor speaking to the woman about her attitude instead of throwing her out of the church.

I never claimed to be sin free, hell I plan to commit a sin or two tonight. :rotfl2:

I love wife swap, I watch or tape it every week and this week's episode was quite interesting!! I really thought that black woman was terrible and rude. What I really found interesting is that she is raising her children to believe that the only lifestyle that is acceptable is one identical to hers. They are practically growing up like the boy in the bubble! It would be very interesting to see how her "excellent" children end up when they have to go out and find their way in the world and GOD FORBID encounter and deal with people with different lifestyles and beliefs. I was really horrified how she is really depriving her children of just even having any fun! I didn't agree with the 8 year old girl being able to watch PG13 or R rated movies, but other than that I think she will grow up a lot more tolerant and respectful towards others than the rich woman's children will.

Oh and now I can truely appreciate and see what kind of people voted for Bush! I'd rather be happy than ultraconservative!

I have watched just about every episode of Wife Swap and one thing resonates with me, it always seems like the ones with less money and the messy houses seem to be the ones that are more well adjusted, happier, and have a lot more love in their lives than the "perfect" wives that stay at home and clean for hours a day while their husbands go make the money. Seeing that really makes me feel good about my life! Maybe being lower class and a single parent isn't so bad!!! Fun and happiness are cheap, especially when you don't have to live the 'Excellent' way! It's so easier to order pizza!!
