Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

Almost forgot -- no one has mentioned encores yet. Who does everyone think it will be?

Based on the band's reaction, I am thinking it will be Ty or Suzie. Although Ty has already had an encore and Suzie has not, so I am hoping they'll go for Suzie.
I was thinking Susie also.

Must be copyright issues. Mig's "Walk this way" from week two is unavailable too.
That's a good explanation. I'm still hoping someone will find it out there in cyber-space so I can listen to it.

Hey spacemountain, do you have any gossip to share with us from your cousin and Jessica? The scoop on what it was really like to compete?

All I've heard so far is that she said she was ready to leave. I'll keep you updated when I hear more. :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing.

Is anyone else devastated that Mig was in bottom three at one point???

Although I almost knew it would be Deanna tonight, it was sad for her....and personally, I would rather see Ty have gone...he just doesn't do it for me....

It's getting really interesting now.......and Jordis should have been in the bottom 3 before Marty if it is based on that night's performance....

No surprises tonight. Was glad to see Suzie get the encore. And how wonderful she was the ONLY one not ever in the bottom 3 last night! She needed that morale booster.

Marty did an awesome job with his song! As long as he stays away from the screaming/psycho stuff he really does fit in with INXS's image and sound. I still like Mig better though, and think he is the ultimate fit.

I agree Jordis should have been bottom 3. I do think it was Deanna's time, she really does not suit the band. Ty needs to watch it...he was a little belligerent tonight.

I can't believe either Mig or Marty were in the bottom three at any point. This is not the only board I post on about this, and the general consensus everywhere is that those two are the top 2. I blame Marty's bottom 3 position on myself, I usually vote for him 10 times every week, but I couldn't get my votes to go through this week (probably my lousy internet connection) and only voted once! :rotfl:

Anyways, I am actually SO glad Marty was in the bottom 3 because he got to show "our band, INXS" that he can sing an INXS song, and with more emotion and power than anyone else on this show IMHO.

I'm just going to start typing I agree every time you post about this show :goodvibes
I'll share the blame with you. I didn't vote last night. I forgot and by the time I remembered, voting was closed.

I missed Jordis's performance last night, but the snippets they aired tonight showed she should have been in the bottom 3. I know she's strong, but she's been steadily declining, not really getting better, IMHO.

I was completely shocked to see Marty in the bottom 3, but I admit I've been wondering how he would sound singing INXS. I loved it and I'm thinking he has as much of a chance as Mig. He's right, INXS will need to be more "current" with their music and he's a good guy to bridge the gap.

Not sure how JD is still hanging in there. I think is behavior is much worse than Marty's freaky eyes.

ITA

He just showed INXS and the world that he is the new lead singer of INXS.

I wasn't a Deanna fan but I felt bad for her tonight, she was just heartbroken. :(

Marty was awesome! I'm so happy he finally got to sing an INXS song because I think he surprised a lot of people, including the band. He was really amazing tonight.

Jordis should've been in the bottom 3, her and JD just keep skipping by with sub par performances.

I was very happy to see Suzie finally make it out of the bottom, the look on her face was priceless.

Marty just made the competeition A LOT tougher for the others, I think that he's the dark horse to win the whole thing.

Yes it was a blessing for Marty to be in the bottom 3 - he did an AWESOME job with that song! I can't wait to hear more INXS from him - it was amazing!

I personally would have sent Ty home. I thought Deanna sang her INXS song better and Ty just showed the same old theatrical style again.

Everyone was really emotional tonight  Even the guys were tearing up. I liked hearing the comments by the singers and the band members. I hope they keep Wednesday night to a full hour.

*sigh* What an emotional evening! I wasn't a big Deanna fan but I TRULY felt awful for her tonight...I might say I even shed a tear or two for her :( She's the only person who's gotten booted who has shown any emotion and I think that shows how much she really, really wanted this. She has a great voice and I hope she finds success somewhere :goodvibes

I'm with Dave tonight...having Ty and Marty in the bottom three was an outrage!!!! Moreso Marty than Ty but still..Jordis should've been there and I don't know how ANYONE could've really supported her performance last night. When Dave dropped his mic all melodramatic like, I actually started clapping...I was disgusted that Marty was there...this is kind of why I don't like the viewer voting thing, sometimes people just don't know what the heck they're doing. That said, I think Marty rocked the socks off INXS and showed he's definitely a top contender.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks. Ever since Brandon got voted off, it's been all women and now only Suzie and Jordis are left. As a hardcore INXS fan, I honestly can't see a woman fronting the band, but I think Jordis will still make the final three...perhaps Suzie if she keeps up with what she showed us tonight/last night.

My choices for the next one's gone : Suzie (possibly), JD (I personally can't take him anymore lol) and possibly Ty (even though I think he's GREAT, I don't think he's right for our band, INXS)

My choices for top three: Still MiG, Marty and Jordis

Newbie to the thread here. I watched the first episode of RockStar and was unimpressed with the crowd, however, four weeks ago, I started to watch again and have been thoroughly impressed with the remaining contestants. While I haven't been watching the whole season, I'm personally a fan of Marty (he kicked you-know-what on Hit Me Baby One More Time and Mr. Brightside) and Jordis whose Knockin' on Heaven's Door honestly gave me chills.

JD is an obnoxious and pompous guy. I mean, I realize he wants to win and you've gotta respect that, but I don't like his personality (plus, I don't think he's very good). Ty is good, but I don't really see him fitting in with the band (although, to be completely honest, I know zippo about INXS). Suzie was superb Tuesday night and deserved the encore. Personally, I like her quite a bit, but I don't think she's gonna win this thing (although I'd love to see her win). She's improved since the beginning when I watched. Loved her "Bring It on Home to Me" and "Start Me Up." MiG absolutely has a shot, but I think he's overrated - his Baby I Love Your Way last week did nothing for me (maybe it's because I'm a guy and that song is just pure mush to me) and I thought he was highly overpraised for it. Additionally, I thought that his originial song was poor. Deanna's, on the other hand, was a lot better. Unfortunately for her, I think she was the worst of the remaining seven and deserved to get the boot tonight (although JD could've easily taken her place).

So, that leaves Marty and Jordis. Marty did great tonight on the INXS song and Jordis definitely was the pits on Tuesday. That being said, it seems that INXS fawns over Jordis...but could they be leaning towards Marty? All I can say is that the fact that this show is getting me interested in an 80s rock band is shocking to me.

It's a shame the show is failing in the ratings...'cause I'd love to see another RockStar show (I realize it couldn't be with INXS, but maybe a Rock American Idol?).

I read that last week it posted its highest numbers ever, and was ranked 26th! Where did you read it was failing?

As for another season, I said at the very beginning this was a risky concept because it's not something you can just automatically do every year. After all, how many superstar bands need a new lead singer?

I think in the end it's going to come down to Mig or Marty winning this thing. I think they are both a good fit for INXS. That being said I really think that all of the these last musicians are incredible singers and they all diserve to have solo careers. I really think that Deanna, Ty, and Jordis have great voices and would be better off, probably more successful, as solo artists. JD just creeps me out - he's way to into "playing the game" and I hope it comes back to bite him...

I love Mig. I think he is awesome. As much as I'd like to see him win the "competition", I'd rather see him as a solo artist or start a new band, than see him with INXS.

I really enjoyed last night's one hour show. I like getting all the feedback from both INXS and the rockers. My favorite is still MiG. I like Marty a lot and I think it is an outrage that he was in the bottom three and not Jordis. If anyone ever deserved to be in the bottom three it was Jordis.

Now maybe my age is showing here but I've been a big fan of INXS for a long time and attended several of their concerts. While I think Marty did a great job with "Don't Change" last night, he lost me at the very end where he was screaming into the microphone. Call me old but that ruined it for me. The screaming makes all the songs sound alike. I know, I am now old and uncool! :guilty:

I think Ty will be the next to go. While he is very talented, I don't think he is "right for our band, INXS."

:rotfl: I'm laughing with you, not at you. I totally agree with what you said! I have never been a fan of bands that scream instead of sing.

Do you think INXS can really make a comeback with a completely new "modern" sound? Personally I think they'll need to keep something similar to their old sound if they want to attract all their old fans.

That being said, I do like Marty and he will probably have a great career, but he needs to get a new, younger band. :teeth:
