Did anyone else notice what's missing in the 2012 dining plan?!

Did anyone else notice that the Downtown Disney dining options in the 2012 participating restaurants published here have significantly decreased? As in, practically nothing is participating. I'm most disappointed about WPE and EOS... :confused3

According to history, this is a regular occurance. A more comprehensive list will be published later in the year as the restaurants negotiate the next year's contract. I believe the full list was published last Oct. for 2011, with many worried when the initial list did not have their favorites until then.

The restaurants that are listed are only the Disney owned ones. The third party restaurants have until the end of the year to sign on. In past years the finalized list wasn't released until close to the end of the year. However, if the past is any indication, you can be pretty safe to assume that if it is participating this year, it will probably continue to participate next year.

The announcement does indicate that "This list will be updated as more restaurants are added."

Please go back and read the top of the page.....

"This list will be updated as restaurants are added".

This means that the places not owned by Disney get until the end of the year to renew their contract (which always happens...yes just a few times a place hasn't but it is RARE).

I hope they keep updating the list.. There are a bunch missing from Epcot World Showcase!

This happens every year, and people freak out about it every time. I know it's warrented if you aren't a big Disney person or if you're just getting started but I promise, it's fine :thumbsup2

And the final 2010 plan wasn't posted until the first couple days of January 2010, if I recall correctly.

Coronado Springs though I didn't think was non-disney owned but isn't mentioned on the list?

With the exception of the pool snack bar, none of the restaurants at the Coronado Springs resort are operated by Disney.

I had the same concerns when I first saw it too, but then again, this is my first trip back to Disney since I worked there 10 years ago, and obviously never had the dining plan before. From what I've read on the boards, this happens every year and most of them do sign on, and it's been rare that one won't resign.

This. In fact, there has been a whopping one restaurant that dropped from the Dining Plan since its inception. Fulton's. Every single other restaurant that was on it, is still (along with a few new places that came about since then).

A few have changed credit counts (the latest being Le Cellier dinner), but Cafeen's right, the only dropout has been Fulton's in 2006.

Thanks everyone for the responses! I'm glad to know that they will most likely be added to the list. I don't always get the dining plan, but I was thinking in 2012 that I would.
